<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Double drive system for loaves in belt cutters".
The present invention relates to bread cutters of the belt type, in which the breads are treated one after the other, and more especially has as an object a bread press to be adapted to such machines.
We know bread cutters of the carpet type,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
in which the breads move on an oons mat. titué of transverse slats surmounted by points. In these machines, the breads driven by the belt are subjected to a certain place before the cutting operation to a bread press made of a flat sheet. One of the drawbacks of this system consists in that, all the loaves not having the same height, one or the other loaf abuts against the front end of said sheet, tilts and prevents the advancement of the next breads. A manual action by the worker is then required to allow the cutting operation to continue, which of course reduces the output.
It therefore seemed advantageous according to the invention to provide a bread press system with independent drive of the height of the loaves to be cut.
This drive bread press is characterized in that it consists of a frame carrying a belt driven at the same speed as the lower belt and capable of being moved in height relative to said lower belt during its walking.
A further subject of the invention is the system for moving said bread press in height, characterized by a set of pinions and chain capable of raising or lowering the bread press frame even during operation and while maintaining a position always parallel to the belt. inferior.
The invention is described below in more detail on the basis of the accompanying drawing, which shows a schematic perspective representation of a bread press according to the invention with its height displacement system.
The bread cutter, of which the bread press is part
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
according to the invention, is provided with a drive belt 1 consisting of sheet metal strips 2 provided with drive spikes 3. Just before the location of the cutting operation, the belt 1 is surmounted by a bread press, as, in common machines. This bread press made according to the invention comprises a frame 4, on which moves a belt 5 similar to the belt 1.
The belt 5 is driven by a transverse control shaft 6, on which is mounted a toothed pinion 7. This toothed pinion 7 engages in the manner of a rack with a chain 8 stretched between a return pinion 9 and a pinion of drive 10 mounted on the control shaft 11 of the lower belt 1. An idle pinion 12 is arranged between the pinions 7 and 10, so as to bring the chain back and thus allow the reverse gear of the pinion 7. One obtains by this means that the faces of the mats 1 and 5 facing each other move in the same MENA, following the arrow X.
The bread press frame is also provided with soft fixed vertical uprights 13, on one side of each of which a rack 14 has been produced, which meshes with a toothed pinion 15, which can only be moved in rotation. These toothed pinions 5 are mounted on a control shaft 16 provided with a crank 17.
When the height of the bread, which appears at the entrance of the bread press, is greater than the planned height, it

always maintained in the same vertical plane thanks to a guide 18.
Thanks to the bread press according to the invention, the throughput of a carpet cutter can remain very high, since there is no stopping of the machine despite the difference in height of the loaves to be cut.
