<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
On décrira à présent un exemple du dispositif selon l'invention en référence au dessin annexé dans lequel : la figure 1 est une vue de face d'une fenêtre bascu- lante ayant des loqueteaux selon l'invention; la figure 2 est une coupe verticale de la fenêtre en position d'ouverture; la figure 3 est une coupe verticale à échelle agrandie du bord inférieur de la fenêtre selon la figure 2 en position de fermeture; la figure 4 est une vue de face d'une fenêtre avec des gonds sur un des montants verticaux ; la figure 5 est une coupe verticale à une plus grande échelle que celle de la figure 3 d'un loqueteau selon une forme d'exécution de l'invention; la figure 6 est une coupe transversale d'un mentonnet faisant partie du loqueteau; la figure 7 est une vue en bout d'un loquoteau avec un pêne d'accrochage;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
dessin.

"Advanced catch for windows, doors and the like".
It is conventional to use Spanish slats for windows, doors and similar articles when the window frame at its free angles, for example at the angles situated opposite the hinges, must be hermetically closed in the center of the frame stops. Such closures are expensive to manufacture and are difficult to attach to the window.
Quite large recesses are also required in the window frame.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The first object of this invention is to overcome the challenges cited above. The invention relates more particularly to a device with automatic closing latches for windows, ports and the like, having locking levers, each of the latches comprising a fixed latch body preferably to the window frame and having the shape of a. a sleeve or the like in which to move axially a locking pana having a tenon which, by the action of ur.
spring, can be caused to exit through one end of the corpo do loquatoau, and the device further comprises a chin fixed to the free angles of the window frame, said chin comprising a hooking stop with an inclined hooking surface, said stopper being located on the path of said tenon in relative displacement between the latch body and the chin, while the tenon is adapted to press, under the action of a spring, the window frame against the window frame in position of closure, in order to lock the window frame.
The main feature of the invention is that the stopper is arranged in a slide which can be moved in its longitudinal direction and is designed to be fixed in a slide respectively on the window frame, or the window frame.
Instead of a locking device with Spanish slats, a conventional locking lever for windows is used.
This locking lever is preferably of the kind which, in its opening movement, also allows the splitting chasis to be pushed back from its abutting position against the frame.
The latch bolts in the latches are thus forced to slide on the locking surface of the latter. The window is therefore easily opened.
The advantages of such a locking device are that the window forms hermetically against the frame in the closed position without the use of a spangle @ and that it is easily opened. The prices of latches and locking handles
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
are much lower than the prices of a closing device 'with Spanish slats and in addition the assembly prices are sensitive. less than those required for the previous closing devices. Another advantage which will be discerned in this invention is that the window cannot be opened by children.
Even if a child were able to move the locking handle to the open position, the window would be retained in the closed position by the latches because the latch bolts with their tenons still engage behind the slant face. of the mentOnnet stopper. The notch required to mount the chin guard in the window frame and the frame will be quite small.
An example of the device according to the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a front view of a tilting window having latches according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a vertical section of the window in the open position; FIG. 3 is a vertical section on an enlarged scale of the lower edge of the window according to FIG. 2 in the closed position; FIG. 4 is a front view of a window with hinges on one of the vertical posts; FIG. 5 is a vertical section on a larger scale than that of FIG. 3 of a catch according to one embodiment of the invention; Figure 6 is a cross section of a chin forming part of the catch; FIG. 7 is an end view of a loquoteau with a catch bolt;
Figure 8 is a longitudinal section similar to that shown in Figure 5 of a somewhat
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
amended; Figure 9 is a sectional view of a chin forming part of a latch body; FIG. 10 is an end view of a latch body with a locking bolt according to FIG. 8.
The window frame is provided with a pivot supporta 1 according to figures 1 and 2, and the window frame mounted on the support pivots is designated by 3. The window frame is provided at its lower end with a locking lever. window 4 of classic construction. Latches 5 according to the invention are mounted at the four corners of the window. A bead 7, preferably of plastic foam, is fixed to the stop rim 6 of the frame 2.
As clearly shown in particular in Figure 3 the body 8 of the latch is provided with ridges 9 in the form of ridges driven into the window bail 2 and a locking plate or chin 10 is attached to the window frame 3. The body 8 has the form of a sleeve with a base 11 and contains a spring bolt 12, a tenon 13 of which extends according to the embodiment shown in Figures 5, 7, through an axial hole 14 of a washer 15 screwed into the free end of the sleeve.
A coil spring 16 is mounted between the bottom 11 and the inner end of the spring bolt 12 and the spring 16 acts on the spring bolt in such a way that the latter abuts against a shoulder 17 placed at the end. of the tenon 13 against the inner end face of the washer 15 when the window frame 3 is brought to its open position. The chin bar 10 comprises a slide 18 and a slide 21 having a longitudinal groove 20, said slide 21 being fixed to the window frame 3 by means of screws 19. The side walls 22 of the groove 20 are oriented towards the body. latch 8.
The slider 18 has a section
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
dovetail whose lateral faces correspond to the lateral faces 22 of the groove 20 and this catch is provided with a locking stop 23 from which extends an inclined sliding path 24 for the tenon 13 in direction of one end of the slider 18. Behind the stop 23 the slider 18 has a cavity 25 with a concave bottom 26 on the rear side of the stop 23. The cavity has roughly the same shape as the end of the tenon 13 and is a little larger than the tenon.
The tightening of the screw 27, the end of which bears against the bottom 28 in the groove 20, wedges the slide 18 against the side walls 22 of the groove 20. Before locking, the slide 18 is adjusted by causing it to move, according to the longitudinal direction of the groove 20, in the slide 21.
When the window frame 3 is brought into the closed position, the slider 18 abuts against the tenon 13 by the inclined sliding path 24 and thus forces the spring bolt 12 against the action of the spring 16 in the latch body 8. When the stop 23 has passed the tenon 13, the latter protrudes under the action of the spring 16 in the cavity 25, pressing against the bottom face 26 and thus forcing the window frame to clamp against the stop 6 on the frame 2. As a result, the bead 7 is compressed to a required degree. The window frame is then locked in the closed position by means of the locking lever! lage 4.
It will be noted that an adjustment of the latches can be easily achieved by loosening the screws 27 in order to release the slider 18 in question and by moving the latter as desired outward or inward in the cylinder. slide 21 (against one end or the other of the slide) and then by locking the slide by means of screw 27.
In Figure 5, there is shown the tenon 13 with a semi-spherical shape but, as shown in Figures 6-10, "
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
the tenon 13 'of the spring bolt 12' could have the shape of a wedge having soft locking faces 29-3C facing each other.
In order to prevent the spring loaded bolt from rotating around its axis, it would be given a non-circular section (according to the embodiment shown, the section is square). The spring bolt 12 'is provided with an axial hole 31 traversed by a via 33 with a teta 32, said screw being able to be screwed more or less into the bottom 11' of the sleeve 8 '. Between the bottom 11 and the inner end of the spring bolt 12 'is introduced a coil spring 16' which pushes the spring bolt 12 'with its stop 34 in contact with the head 32 when the window frame is in position d. 'opening The locking screw 27' is mounted at one end of the slider 18 'and entirely out of the path of the tenon 13'.
Because of the arrangement of the screw 27 'shown in Figure 6, when tightening the latter, the slide 18' is forced to take a slightly biased position which ensures a very effective locking of the slide against the slide 21.
In the window shown in FIG. 4, the window frame 3 of which is carried so as to be able to turn relative to the frame 2 on hinges 35 placed on one and the same amount of the window, the latches are arranged at the free angles of the frame window. The locking lever 4 is arranged approximately in the center of the vertical window pillar located opposite the hinges 35.
The present invention has been described in detail for the purpose of illustration only and should not be limited by this description or otherwise. Additions or modifications can be made to it without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, the shape of the slide 21 and that of the slide 18 are independent of the invention. The locking screws 27-27 'respectively could be arranged at a location on the slide 18-18' different from that shown in
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
drawing. In some cases it may be preferable to disassemble the latch bodies 8 in the window frame 3 and the chin 10 in the frame 2.
The invention can also be usefully applied to doors, especially balcony doors.
