<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Combine harvester cutting mechanism table,
The invention relates to a table of the cutting mechanism of a combine harvester, this side table comprising, between the cutting mechanism and the input drum, a continuous convex bottom parallel to the cutting mechanism and formed by a profiled sheet with one or two waves which is placed on the table top with the crusts of the corrugations facing upwards.
This single or double corrugation, established between the cutting mechanism and the working zone of the input drum, prevents the loss of loose seeds which have fallen on the table of the cutting mechanism, constitutes a sort of collecting device. to seed and facilitate, moreover, the transport of the harvest to the entry drum,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Until now, these corrugated sheets were simply fixed on the table of the cutting mechanism by a few bolts or rivets to obtain a sufficiently certain retention of these sheets.
Moreover, it is known that, more especially for harvester binders having large cutting widths, special support members must be added to the table of the cutting mechanism to provide it with sufficient resistance to deformation. , more especially at its entrance area.
The support and reinforcement devices used so far for this purpose have an unfavorable influence on the weight and size,
The object of the invention is to simplify the manufacture of the table of the cutting mechanism of the kind described at the beginning and to provide it with considerable resistance to deformation despite the reduction in its weight. For this purpose and in accordance with the The invention connects the profiled sheet, forming the corrugated bottom of the table of the cutting mechanism, to the bottom of said table in such a way that it forms with this bottom a closed hollow profile which reinforces the latter.
Experiments have confirmed that, while retaining the prefiling adopted hitherto 'of the sheet, used to form the convex part of the bottom, it is possible, by a judicious constitution of the fixing of the sheet which forms this convex part, to reinforce the entry part of the table of the cutting mechanism to such an extent that, in general, additional supports are not necessary.
This favorable effect results from the fact that the sheet which forms the convex part of the bottom, by being judiciously connected to the flat part of the table of the coupo mechanism, which is located below the sheet metal, is a hollow closed profile. which, despite its reduced weight, has a very high dimensionality.

bottom, and the cutting mechanism table can be silent at will. It is possible, however, to use rivets, bolts, screws or the like. In practice, however, it is advantageous to ensure our connections by welding, spot-welded joints already meeting high demands.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows, in perspective, a table of the cutting mechanism established according to the invention and forming part of a combine harvester.
Fig. 2 shows a cross section along II-II fig. 1 of this table.
The cutting mechanism table, shown by way of example, has a trough 10, open upward and forward, which comprises side walls 11, a rear wall 12 and a substantially horizontal bottom 13. The front edge of the bottom 13 is provided, as known, with a cutting mechanism 14 while the rear part 12 comprises an opening 15 which establishes the connection with an elevator which brings the crop to the threshing mechanism ot which is housed in a corridor. 16.
In front of the rear wall 12 works an inlet drum 17 which is placed, as known, above the bottom of the trough 10 and whose end parts carry helical sheets 18 while its middle part, which r is located in front of the opening 15, is fitted with controlled fingers 19.
Between the working area of the input drum 17 and the cutting mechanism 14 is fixed, on the bottom 13 and continuously over the entire width of the table, a bomb part with soft stages formed by a profiled sheet with soft corrugations 20 and 21, which rests on the bottom 13 in such a way that the edges of these corrugations are facing upwards * Sheet metal 20, 21, which is in contact with the bottom 13 by seo zones
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
marginal edges 22 and 23 and by the part 24 separating the soft corrugations 20 ot 21, is fixed to the bottom 13, one cen contact zones 22, 23 and 24, by welding, for example a bending by spots,
or by bolts, via, rivets and the like, so that the front part of the table of the cutting mechanism forms a formed orous profile having the cavities 25 and 26. The intervention of the sheet, which forms the domed part of the cutting mechanism. bottom and which constitutes a closed hollow profile reinforcing the entry zone of the table of the cutting mechanism, gives ootto part of the table, even if this one has a great width, a high undeformability, so that in general no further hums are necessary
The arrangement shown constitutes, as already stated, only one embodiment of the invention cited by way of example.
The invention is therefore not limited to this arrangement oar many variants can be adopted. Thus, it is not essential that the convex part of the bottom have soft corrugations 20 and 21, also the shape of the cross section of the bottom can be different from the glue which is shown.
