<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Tubular pipe connection valve for fluid meters, pressure regulators, similar apparatus, and method of manufacture thereof.
The present invention, the Frederik BOONSTRA system relates to a tap-connection for tubular conduits for fluid meters, in particular, for gas and water meters or for pressure regulators, as well as for devices such as valves, filters, etc. It also relates to its manufacturing process.
More precisely, the object of the invention is a connection valve for devices of the type of those previously mentioned, whose inlet and outlet pipes are coaxial, the axis of the valve cavity being parallel to the axis of said tubes.
The connection valve according to the invention is characterized
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
se in that the cavity intended to contain the parts of the valve has a polygonal section, in particular quadrangular or square.
By virtue of this arrangement, it is possible to perform the molding of the body of this connection valve by using only four cores (two fixed cores and two retractable cores).
A part is introduced into the cavity of the valve, the periphery of which has the shape of the section of said cavity and which has a frustoconical axial opening serving as a seat for the valve.
The attached drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of the object of the invention, as well as a method of implanting the cores in the mold for the realization of this form. execution.
Fig.l is a sectional view of the connector valve.
Fig.2 is another section along the axis A - A of Fig.l; Fig.3 is another section along the axis B - B of Fig.l.
Figs 4 and 5 show the implantation of the foundry cores in the mold.
In figs. 1 2 and 3, the body of the connection valve is shown at 1. It comprises, on the side of the connected device, two coaxial tubes 12 and 13, the outer annular tube 12 serving as the fluid inlet into the device. device connected, while the inner tube 13 serves as the fluid outlet. The outer tube 12 opens into a lateral cavity 14, the upper part of which is parallelepiped in shape, with a square section, and which is open at its upper end. The longitudinal axis of this cavity is parallel to the axis of the coaxial tubes 12 and 13.
In the upper part of this cavity, are housed the various parts which constitute the valve. The upper part of this cavity 14 opens into a pipe 15 serving as a connection to the inlet pipe (not shown). The inner tube 13 opens into a pipe 16 serving as a connection to the outlet pipe (also not shown).

In the example shown, there is shown a valve with a floating seat of the type described in the French patent application filed on January 24, 1958 by the applicant company and having the title: "Floating seat valve". 3 represents the floating seat of this valve, which rests by means of the elastic seals 4 and 5 on the edges of the lateral cavity 14. Inside this floating seat is introduced the turntable 2. A flange 8, fixed by screws 9 on the body of the connector-valve, serves to tighten the floating seat 3 on the joints 4 and 5, by means of a washer 10. A spring 6 and a washer 7 are interposed between the flange and the turning.
When you want to open or close the tap, you can do a quarter turn or turn using a key.
As it follows from the foregoing, it is easy to realize that the connection of the coaxial tubes 12 and 13 to the connected device, as well as the connection of the tubes 15 and 16 to the external conduits are carried out without exerting any force or deformation on turn 2 and seat 3.
Figs. 4 and 5 show in section the implantation of the cores in the mold, Fig.5 being a section along the axis e - e of Fig.4. The line X - X 'of Fig. 4 represents the junction plane of the upper part and the lower part of the mold.
Core A is integral with the upper part of the mold, while core C is integral with the lower part of the mold. The side cores B and D are retractable cores.
The connection of the core B with the core A is facilitated by the fact that the latter has a square or quadrangular section in the part where it is in contact with the core B.
It can therefore be seen that the connector valve according to the invention requires only four cores, which, in particular, makes it possible to carry out this connector valve in a pressurized foundry, under conditions which lower the cost price thereof.
It is not beyond the scope of the invention if, in con-
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
serving the aforementioned characteristics, other means are used to achieve them; in particular, the number of cores may be different from four, the lateral cavity may be of different shape and no longer of square section.
It is also not possible to leave the drain of the invention if the combination of such a connection and a rotary valve is carried out in a fixed, non-floating seat, of polygonal section, in particular, quadrangular or square.
