<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

In underground operations, the compressed air or other fluid under pressure conduits are generally, as is known, provided with push-fit fittings, the various pipe elements comprising on one side a fitting sleeve and on the other side a male end and the male ends are inserted at the coupling points in the sleeves provided with seals, or special coupling sleeves are provided which can be separated from the pipe elements and the pipe elements are arranged on both sides for their introduction into these sleeves.
The inside diameter of the coupling sleeves exceeds the outside diameter of the pipe elements by such an amount, and the interposed seal has such flexibility that the pipe can be tilted at the coupling point of a. angle which can be determined in advance by the choice of the dimensions of the parts and the nesting depth and that the pipe can be shortened slightly by axial penetration. The plug-in sleeves and the plug-in pipe ends are additionally secured against inadvertent separation, for example by means of connecting tabs.
The inclination and the shortening of the pipes are particularly necessary in underground operations when the pipes must be connected to a conveyor and moved with it according to the progress of the felling. The seals, the sleeves and the connecting lugs are also subjected to significant mechanical fatigue, so that many known devices have not performed well, lose their seal or are not able to withstand the fatigue. mechanical.
On the contrary, a device has been proposed which has not yet entered into the art which has proved its worth, and in which a fixing and guide tab fixed to one of the coupling parts extends in a cantilever manner. towards the other part to which it is fixed by a strong bolt passing through this bracket with play. This coupling is movable in all directions and relieves the seal of any mechanical fatigue, such as crushing, during angular movements and axial thanks to the collection of forces by the lug and the bolt, so that one seal is fully guaranteed even when the connection is inclined and after frequent angular movements.
However, these couplings have the disadvantage of preventing sliding and rotation of the pipe elements relative to each other, which is particularly inconvenient if the pipe elements have socket connections which must be accessible from the outside. various sides to take, for example, the fluid under pressure from the pipe in order to operate a winch or other device.
The object of the invention is to provide a pipe with an inclinable fitting fitting constituted by a sleeve and a male end so as to allow, without adversely affecting the seal, an axial displacement and an angular displacement of the pipe elements at the coupling point, as well as a rotation of the pipes with respect to each other around their axis.
The subject of the invention is a pressurized fluid pipe with a fitting fitting formed of a sleeve and a male end and held by means of a fastening and tilting tab, more particularly a pressurized fluid pipe comprising socket fittings.
According to the invention, the fastening tab is fixed to a ring capable of rotating on one of the parts to be connected and held on this part in an inseparable manner. According to a preferred embodiment, the fastening tab is fixed to one of the parts connected to the other, for example by means of a bolt screwed into a welded nut. In general, the fastening tab will be welded to the ring so as to form an arm freely projecting from this ring. However, the attachment tab can be articulated on the ring around an axis transverse to the axis of the pipe. The expression “attached tab” is used in the context of the invention to denote any means. link, and it can be annular or oval or consist of a link.
The invention can be carried out in various ways in detail, and for example the connection ring can be mounted on the sleeve
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
or before the sleeve on the pipe.
The advantages obtained according to the invention do not lie only in the fact that the coupling work is facilitated and that the pipe elements can deviate in all directions and rotate with respect to each other but above all in the fact that during angular displacements, such as for example it occurs for the advancement of a conveyor if the pipe is laid along the conveyor, the tightness is not compromised and is improved compared to the forms known executions and that in addition the screw which holds the fastener is relieved of too great fatigue. On the other hand, the intake fittings of a pipe member can be oriented in any direction without having to disassemble the fitting. Finally, it is also surprisingly found that the duration of the seal increases.
The description which follows, with reference to the accompanying drawings by way of nonlimiting examples, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented in practice.
FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section of a pipe according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a top view corresponding to Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a longitudinal section of another embodiment of the invention.
Figure 4 is a plan view corresponding to Figure 3.
The pipe shown is a pressurized fluid pipe.
Each pipe element 1, 2 is provided on one side with a coupling sleeve 3 and on the other side with a male end 4 intended to enter this coupling sleeve 3 with a gasket. sealing 12. However, it is also possible to use special sleeves and to form the pipe elements with a male end at each end to insert them into these sleeves.
At the coupling points 3, 4, the pipe elements 1, 2 connected to each other are secured against unintentional separation by means of a fastening tab 5. This fastening tab 5 at the same time limits time the depth of engagement of the pipe element 1. The attachment tab 5 is carried by a ring 6 mounted and able to rotate on one of the parts to be connected. This ring 6, for its part, is held in place by a collar 7 or ¯8 which at the same time limits the penetration of the nested pipe element. The tab 5 is for example welded to the ring 6 or in one piece with it so as to form a rigid arm forward.
This arm is pierced at its free end with a hole 9 in which passes with play a bolt 10 screwed into a nut 11 fixed, for example welded, to 1 pipe element to be connected.
As shown in Figures 1 and 2, ring 6 can be mounted on the coupling sleeve itself but, according to Figures 3 and 4, ring 6 can also be mounted on the pipe behind the sleeve. It can be seen from Figures 1 and 2 that the pipe elements 1, 2 connected to each other can be inclined with respect to each other and that they can be rotated and slid relative to each other. to the other thanks to the play of the tab 9 on the bolt 10 and the play of the ring 6. The seal 12 is moreover free from any mechanical fatigue.
