Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 térale du   tuyeu   et un ancrage s'opposant à son arrachement,   l'extrémité  raccordée du tuyau constituent elle-même joint d'étahché té et ne présentent aucun risque de fluage dans le temps. ces particularités apparitront plus clairement d'après un mode de réelisation d'un raccord selon l'inven- tion, qui sera maintenant décrit, à titre d'exemple non limitatif et en référence au dessin annexa dans lequel : la figure 1 est une vue en coupe longitudinale d'un raccord conforme à l'invention, le tuyau étant en   place ;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

   The increasing use of plastic pipes, such as polyethylene, leads to provide for their connection these pipes which do not weld in practice, special connectors.

   The object of the invention is precisely to offer users a connection of total safety, easy and quick to install, without special tools.

   To this end, it essentially consists in providing a fitting in which it is practically obtained, by simple screwing, a bilateral radial compression.

 side of the pipe and an anchor opposing its tearing, the connected end of the pipe itself constitute a sealing joint and present no risk of creep over time. these features will appear more clearly from one embodiment of a connector according to the invention, which will now be described, by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the appended drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a view in longitudinal section of a connector according to the invention, the pipe being in place;

Figure 2 is an exterior view of a deformable ring forming part of the connector. figure 1.

   It can be seen from the drawing that the proposed coupling comprises a male body 1, which is extended on the side of the pipe to be connected 2 by a cylindrical sleeve 3, of a size allowing the pipe to be fitted therein by friction. 'It should be understood that, taking into account the elasticity common to plastic pipes, this socket will be able. receive pipes of slightly variable internal diameter. In addition, it is provided at its periphery with anchoring projections, such as the steps 4, directed in the direction opposing the tearing of the pipe, and in particular when the latter is subjected to radial compression under the following conditions.

   We see in fact that it is provided, coming to surround the fitted end of the tugau 2, and to be placed in abutment against the shoulder 5 of the mixed body 1, a deformable ring 6, internally cylindrical and externally conical.

  This ring is made easily deformable by means of an oblique longitudinal slot 7, the spaced edges of which allow it to be tightened around the pipe, as well as

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 is thus expandable and can be adapted to pipes of slightly different outside diameter.

   The main purpose of the obliquity of the slot 7 is to guarantee, when the connection is made, a total circumferential compression of the pipe, and to possibly allow the sliding of an edge of the. window with respect to the other if they come into contact at the end of the tightening of the fitting.

   It can be seen that the tightening is effected by means of a sleeve 8, comprise a threaded part 81 which is screwed onto the male body 1 and having at 82 a taper similar to that of the ring 6.

   The mole body 1 and the sleeve 8 are metallic, the ring 6 also being metallic, for example made of bronze, brass or hardened lead, but this ring can also be made of plastic.

   When fitting the fitting, the end of the pipe is naturally fitted onto the sleeve 3 after the ring 6 and the sleeve 8 have been threaded onto the pipe.

   We realize that the tightening of the sleeve has the effect of ensuring the encrustation of the pipe in the recesses of the sleeve 3, the anchoring obtained can be reinforced by also providing projections on the internal face of the ring 6, such as circular grooves 9.

   The end of the pipe thus subjected to radial and bilateral compression forms a seal, as well as the anchoring produced provides, over time, a certain guarantee against any creep.

   The body 1 of the connector is shown here with a threaded part 10 allowing, in known manner, its attachment to an enclosure or a member of a fluid network,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 but this connection could be entirely, symmetrical, in order to serve for the connection of two pipes end to end.
