<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a stop system for precision balances. To stop a precision balance, the flail and the balancing riders are lifted out of the pad or agate plate for the knife. All known systems of stop devices are characterized by the fact that the last element of the mechanism, that is to say, that which acts directly on the beam of the balance, is also mounted movably (in a rotating tenon or in a sliding guide). In order to allow precise movement, this movable mounting system must have a determined initial clearance, which increases during use due to wear.
Consequently and each time the stop system is put out of effect, the flail knife is placed at another point of the bearing, which adversely affects the fixed ratio between the two arms of the flail, as well as the stability of the flail. the neutral position.
The invention aims to ensure the stability of the relative positions of the flail knife, on the one hand, and of the pad or agate plate, on the other hand, independently of the play in the stop mechanism. According to the invention, this is achieved by the intercalation, between, on the one hand, that of the elements of the stop mechanism which is slidably mounted relative to a rotating pin or in a sliding guide and, on the other hand, the beam of the balance with its riders or other compensation members, a member mounted in a fixed position relative to the bearing. This intermediate member is formed by the stop bracket, the middle part of which, disposed at the location where the edge of the knife is located, has elastic flexibility.
From a technical point of view, it is easier to produce a stop bracket which has two points of elastic flexibility located as close as possible to the edge of the knife and symmetrically with respect to it.
The appended drawing shows embodiments of the stop device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the stopper.
Fig. 2 is a partial plan view.
- 'Fig-3 represents the construction method of a detail.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view taken along line 44 of FIG. 3.
Fig. 5 is a sectional view taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 3.
An example of a possible embodiment of the device is shown in figs. 1 and 2. On a column head 1 are rigidly fixed both the pad or agate plate 2 and a stop bracket 5, the latter using screws 3, 4 for example, the bracket d. stopper 5 with elastic bending (pivoting) points at 6 and 7. The stop rod 8, slidably mounted in a guide 9, acts, by means of adjustable support pins or adjustment screw 10, 11, on the stop bracket 5, which, acting in its turn via the screws 12, 13, also adjustable, raises a balance beam, not shown, provided with jumper%, etc. , balancing.
An example of a construction mode of a variant is shown in Figures 3, 4 and 5. Here) the stop bracket 5 has in its middle a single elastically flexible point 15. The stop pot 5 is fixed. in this place and in a fixed position to the head of column 1 by means of divided cylindrical tenons 16, 17, while the pad 2, rigidly fixed to the head 1c, is located between the cylindrical tenons 16, 17.
In each case, the play in the guide 9 is prevented from having repercussions on the beam of the balance. The points of resilient (pivoting) flexibility may - when the entire stopper assembly is made of resilient material - consist of profile constrictions, eg produced by stamping, stamping, or the like, as shown. in the drawings, or by the fact that the material is left in its original state in the places considered only, while the other parts; of the jib crane are reinforced by suitable profiling, for example.
In addition, the stop bracket can be formed by elements of elastic and non-elastic material,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fixed to each other with screws or rivets or by welding, etc., in such a way that the elements of elastic material are located at the places which correspond to the points of bending or pivoting; or again, the stop bracket can be formed by a combination of the two methods mentioned.
