a tank with an outlet for the liquid located near a
generally annular bottom. As described in the patent
Belgian n [deg.] 557.637, the central opening provided: in the annular bottom can be closed by a flexible diaphragm that the shaft
which carries the rotating basket can cross.
According to the present invention, the outlet is provided,
downstream, a wall extending in the path that would otherwise be followed by the liquid moving around the bottom of the tarpaulin, so as to prevent this liquid from exceeding the outlet. The
outlet is preferably formed by a vertical hole which passes through
the bottom, and the wall is in the form of a dam projecting upwards downstream of the outlet in the direction of rotation. The dam may partially surround the exit.
In order to present a sufficient surface in a limited radial extent, the outlet may be oval, its minor axis being disposed radially.
The invention can be put into practice in different ways; a specific embodiment will be described below
by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a rear elevational view of a centrifugal wringer, some parts broken away to show the present invention; FIG. 2 is a plan view of the crown which forms the bottom of the tarpaulin of the centrifugal wringer; and, Figure 3 is a perspective view from above and from one side of the crown of Figure 2.
As mentioned above, the present invention relates to a type of machine described in beige patent no. [Deg.] 557,637.
Figure 1 shows only one end of a combined washing and wringing machine which includes an outer casing, the bottom of which is mounted on a base 12. A tarpaulin 13 of the centrifugal wringer is suspended from the part. top of the cover, and is generally cylindrical, its lower portion tapering towards its lower end. A rotating basket 14 <EMI ID = 2.1>
cylindrical in perforated sheet metal which also has a conical lower part 15 is mounted in the cover 13 on the upper end of a vertical shaft 16. The lower end of this shaft carries a pulley 17 which is connected by a belt
18 to a small pulley 19 on the lower end of the shaft of a motor 20. Pulley 17 is mounted via a self-aligning ball bearing 21 on a cross member 22 at the bottom of the. machine, so that the rotating basket 15 can move sideways to rotate around its center of gravity.
The bottom of the tarpaulin 13 of the wringer is closed by a crown 23 which is welded in place. A corrugated rubber diaphragm 24 is fixed in this crown and forms a sealed seal, at its outer periphery, with the crown, and at its periphery.

rotating basket. The crown 23 and the diaphragm 24 thus form a waterproof bottom 7, 'water for the tarpaulin of the centrifugal wringer.

to vibrate to some extent.
Figures 2 and 3 show the shape of the crown 23. It comprises a casting of generally annular shape in a material such as aluminum or an aluminum alloy which can be advantageously die-cast. The crown comprises an overall flat disc, the major part of which
of the circumference is connected by means of an inclined section 31 to a deeper part 32 in which is housed the diaphragm 24. At a point of its circumference, the bottom
is provided with an outlet formed by an oval nozzle 33, the minor axis of which is disposed radially relative to the crown. As can be seen in Figure 1, the lower end of the nozzle 33 is connected by an outlet pipe 34 to a discharge pump 35 mounted on a support 36 on the base 12 of the machine. The main drive belt 18 for the centrifugal wringer goes around an idler pulley 37 which is mounted on
a shaft end carrying a second pulley 38 which, by means of a belt 39, drives the discharge pump 35.
According to the invention, the output from the crown
23 is provided with a barrier on its downstream side in the direction of rotation, so as to prevent the liquid from exceeding it. The dam
