La présente invention concerne les soutiens-gorge, et en particulier une façon de bâtir leurs bonnets, qui permet d'ob- tenir des bonnets sans couture ayant un aspect extérieur uni.
La présente invention a pour but de procurer un soutien- gorge dont les bonnets soient bâtis de façon que les coutures ou lignes d'assemblage des quartiers habituels du bonnet soient dissimulées ou masquées par un parement extérieur, qui se compose d'une matière élastique tricotée étirable pouvant épouser étroite- ment la forme du bonnet et être intimement fixée au tissu inté- rieur de ce dernier,de manière à donner au bonnet l'aspect d'un

moulage d'une seule pièce.
L'invention a aussi pour but de procurer un parement extérieur pour les bonnets d'un soutien-gorge, qui soit rela- tivement mince, suffisamment élastique pour pouvoir s'étendre uniformément et sans plis sur la surface du bonnet, et qui puisse être façonné ou moulé de façon à prendre la forme désirée pratique- ment conique par l'application de chaleur transmise au tissu par de la vapeur.
L'invention a encore pour but de procurer un bonnet de soutien-gorge qui se compose d'un tissu intérieur relativement épais disposé en une ou plusieurs couches et en quartiers cousus les uns aux autres, et d'un parement extérieur appliqué sur ce bonnet en contact étroit avéc ce dernier, qui comprend un tissu tricoté en Nylon ou autre fil synthétique extensible qui, avant d'être appliqué sur le bonnet, a été mis en forme, moulé, ou autrement façonné en cône par chauffage à la vapeur ou autrement.
D'autres buts et particularités de l'invention apparaî- tront dans la description donnée ci-après, avec référence aux dessins annexés,qui représente à titre d'exemple, une forme d'ex- écution de l'invention.
Dans les dessins, la Fig. 1 est une vue en élévation de face de la partie médiane d'un soutien-gorge, dont les bonnets sont conformes à l'invention; la Fig. 2 est une vùe d'arrière d'un des bonnets ; la Fig. 3 représente un des parements extérieurs en Nylon extensible destinés aux bonnets, façonné en forme de cône avant d'être appliqué sur un des bonnets; et, la Fig. 4 est une coupe à plus grande échelle d'une par- tie d'un des bonnets.
Le chiffre 1 désigne un soutien-gorge conforme à l'inven- tion qui comprend les deux bonnets identiques indiqués respecti- vement en 2 et 3. Chaque bonnet se compose d'une ou plusieurs @

couches intérieures 4 en tissu relativement épais, mou et relati- vement non élastique. Afin de donner au bonnet la forme pratique- ment conique qui est requise, la matière intérieure ou de corps 4 du bonnet se compose de quartiers 10 cousus ensemble, par exemple par la couture verticale 5 et la couture transversale 6 . On peut aussi procéder différemment pour produire et mettre en forme la couche intérieure ou de corps du bonnet, de façon à lui donner une forme pratiquement conique.
Une couche exté- rieure ou parement 7 est tendue sur la surface extérieure du bonnet, formée par la matière intérieure ou de corps 4, et épouse étroitement cette surface. Ce parement est de préférence un tissu tricoté relativement mince en fil de Nylon ou autre fil synthé- tique extensible ou étirable, d'un type largement utilisé actuel- lement pour des articles de bonneterie et autres articles devant avoir une certaine élasticité ou extensibilité. Le fil, dont sont composés des tissus tricotés de ce genre, est caractérisé en ce qu'il est vrillé ou ondulé, ce qui donne une forte extensibilité ou élasticité au tissu tricoté résultant.
Avant d'appliquer le parement tricoté extensible 7 sur la surface extérieure du tissu intérieur ou de corps 4, on le façonne ou on le moule en cône de façon à produire un cône tel que représenté sur la fig. 3, que l'on peut appliquer aisément et étroitement sur la surface extérieure du bonnet formé par la matière de corps et que l'on coud à la périphérie du bonnet par la couture 8 et en dessous du ruban de renforcement 9.
On façonne ou on met en forme le tissu tricoté extensi- ble 7 de façon à'lui donner la forme voulue en tendant un morceau de tissu de la dimension requise sur une forme ou gabarit en soumettant ensuite le tissu tendu à l'action de la vapeur et en le laissant prendre forme à la température normale ou ambiante.

Comme.le parement extérieur tricoté étirable 7 est d'une pièce pour chaque bonnet, et ne comporte aucune couture, les coutures 5 et 6 d'assemblage des quartiers 10 de la matière intérieure ou de corps 4 sont recouvertes et masquées par le tissu extérieur, de sorte que,lorsqu'on le regarde de face, le bonnet semble être moulé d'une pièce.
En utilisant le tissu extérieur 7 de la façon décrite plus haut, on obtient un bonnet qui se distingue par son aspect extérieur lisse, sans coutures et ,/sans plis, de sorte que lorsque le soutien-gorge est porté en dessous d'un sweater ou d'un autre vêtement collant, les coutures habituellement présentes dans les bonnets de la plupart des soutiens-gorge et qui marquent souvent à travers le vêtement extérieur n'existent pas.
Quoique suivant la description, le parement extérieur 7 puisse être façonné ou mis en forme en le tendant sur une forme et en le traitant à la vapeur, on peut utiliser d'autres procédés pour façonner le tissu de façon à lui donner la forme conique requise.
