Dans le corps de cylindre 4 est prévu un distributeur rotatif 5 à quatre voies à l'aide duquel l'air comprimé est dirigé,.suivant le cas, sur la face antérieure ou la face postérieure du piston 6. La partie supérieure de la figure 1 montre le tiroir distributeur 5 dans une position dans laquelle l'air peut affluer sur la face de gauche du piston 6, tandis que, dans la partie inférieure de la figure 1, on voit que l'air arrive sur la face de droite du piston 6. Ce piston est monté à position réglable à l'aide d'une pièce de liaison 7 sur laquelle le piston est vissé. En tournant cette pièce de liaison 7, on peut régler à volonté la position de départ du piston;
<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
The invention relates to a rotary cylinder for clamping chucks actuated by compressed air and intended for machine tools, in particular for working bars, cylinder of which the piston is moved
by an elastic member in the direction of the clamping of the mandrel, while, in order to loosen the mandrel, this piston is subjected to the action of the compressed air exerted against the pressure of the elastic member.
As the cylinder rotates when the mandrel is tightened and, on the other hand, the supply of compressed air to the cylinder must be from a pipe
fixed under pressure; Difficulties are encountered when it comes to establishing a supply of compressed air with a sealed seal to the cylinder for the purpose of loosening the mandrel.
The object of the invention is to avoid rubbing sealing surfaces and to take advantage of the advantage of loosening. chuck occurs only when the cylinder is stopped and therefore there is no need to admit pressurized air while the cylinder is rotating.
The invention consists in that a sleeve with an annular groove, an annular membrane, or a similar member, pierced with orifices in the axial direction with a view to allowing the passage of the pressurized fluid and movable in the axial direction, is interposed between, on the one hand, a ring which communicates with the compressed air source and, on the other hand, the end face of the cylinder, the arrangement being such that, when the mandrel is released, the sleeve or a part of the membrane is pressed against the cylinder, but is moved away from this cylinder by the air which escapes, when the mandrel is tightened.
The advantage of the invention lies in the fact that the application pressure of the annular throat sleeve, or of the like, against the cylinder, only remains as long as the pressurized air is blown in. and that the cylinder is immobilized. As soon as the mandrel is tightened by the spring, the air escapes from the cylinder and pushes back the sleeve, so that, during the rotation of the cylinder, the latter does not rub against the latter and is not subjected to wear.
The accompanying drawings show an embodiment of a cylinder according to the invention. In these drawings: FIG. 1 is a view in longitudinal section through the cylinder, in two different positions of the piston. Figure 2 shows the position of the grooved ring sleeve when loosening the chuck and
The figure. 3 shows the position of this sleeve when tightening the mandrel; while, Figure 4 is an embodiment comprising a membrane.
The pressurized air, controlled by a single-acting distributor (not shown) penetrates, according to the embodiment of Figures 1 to 3, into the ring 1, still immobilized, and pushes the annular groove sleeve 2, inserted in this ring, against the annular channel 3 made in the cylinder body 4-. The annular groove sleeve 2 is provided with several channels 10 through which the pressurized air can flow into the annular channel 3.
In the cylinder body 4 is provided a four-way rotary distributor 5 by means of which the compressed air is directed, depending on the case, on the anterior face or the posterior face of the piston 6. The upper part of the figure 1 shows the distributor spool 5 in a position in which air can flow to the left face of the piston 6, while, in the lower part of figure 1, we see that the air arrives on the right face of the piston 6. This piston is mounted in an adjustable position by means of a connecting piece 7 onto which the piston is screwed. By turning this connecting piece 7, the starting position of the piston can be adjusted at will;
6, so as to place it more to the right or more to the left in the cylinder; in other words, by combining this. adjustment with the operation of the four-way distributor 5, it is possible to make a spring 11 exert a pressure or a traction on the clamping mandrel. In this arrangement, the spring 11 is supported, on the one hand, on an appendage 12 of the cylinder body 4 and, on the other hand, on the front face of a threaded sleeve
13 mounted in an adjustable position, by screwing, on the connecting piece 7; however, the spring may as well take support on an adjustable cap 8, on the one hand, and a collar 14 of the connecting piece 7; on the other hand, the two possible positions are shown in figure 1.
When the pressurized air flows, that is to say, when the workpiece is clamped by the force exerted by the spring 11, the air, flowing back, pushes (Figure 3) the annular groove sleeve 2,
<EMI ID = 1.1>
escapes through the gap 15 which separates the fixed ring 1 from the cylinder body 4. During the rotation which follows, the sleeve 2 with annular groove is slightly separated from the rotating part and therefore cannot give rise to heat development.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the pressurized air arrives, in the direction of the arrow, in the inlet channel 16 and in the channel
<EMI ID = 2.1>
Zion against the membrane 18 which delimits the annular channel 17, this membrane being secured to the fixed ring 1 in any suitable manner, using screws by
<EMI ID = 3.1> ports 10 through which pressurized air can enter the annular channel 3 of the cylinder body
4. Starting from here, the compressed air is supplied through a four-way distributor, not shown, on the front face or the rear face of a piston, sui-vant the case. By subjecting the piston to the action of compressed air, the mandrel loosens, while the release of pressurized air in front of the piston results in the mandrel being clamped by a spring, which is itself. even under tension when the piston is subjected to the action of compressed air.
When compressed air flows through the pipe
16 in the annular channel 17 where it acts on the annular membrane 18, the middle part of this membrane, that is to say, that which corresponds to the mean radius of the latter, is pressed against the front face of the cylinder 4 and s 'applied with sealed contact on the front face of an annular projection 19, which it is advantageous to provide at this location. When the pressurized air escapes from the cylinder chamber to the annular space 3, the membrane 18 moves away from the front face of the cylinder 4 or from the annular appendage 19 provided thereon, so that the pressurized air can escape through the gap 15 between the fixed ring 1 and the cylinder body 4.
During the following rotational movement, the membra remains in its separated position, shown in the figure, which avoids any friction between the membrane acting as a sealing member, on the one hand, and the rotating part (cylinder 4), on the other hand and, therefore, any unwanted heat build-up.
