Pour faciliter le montage des diverses pièces entrant dans la fabrication d'un fusil de chasse et par suite réduire le prix de revient de celui-ci, tout en réalisant un mécanis- me sûr et considérablement amélioré par rapport aux armes de ce type connues, la présente invention est essentielLement caractérisée par la combinaison dans un même fusil des diffé- rents perfectionnements suivants : 1) le chien et la détente sont soumis à l'action d'un ressort unique ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
chien, et en cas de départ intempestif du chien en position "armé" l'arrête complètement tout au début de sa course réa- lisant ainsi une sûreté intégrale qui ne nécessite aucun ré- glage;
3) la bascule est réalisée sans queue et le bouton- poussoir du mécanisme de sûreté est porté par une plaquette maintenue enlace grâce à un biseau réalisé à une de ses ex- trémités, l'autre extrémité étant fixée sur la crosse;
4) la table de bascule est fermée par une plaque de sous-garde maintenue en place sans vis grâce à deux biseaux, le fer de sous-garde renforcé par deux nervures longitudina- les s'encastrant dans ladite plaque ;
5) la clef du verrou est maintenua en position ouver- te automatiquement lors de l'ouverture de l'arme;
6) le bois de longuesse présente une échancrure unie et unique du fait que le fer de longuesse est constitué d'un boîtier à 1'intérieru duquel est logé le verrou de la longues- se, lequel s'engage dans le tenon solidaire des canons;
7) les leviers armeurs sont actionnés par des prises réglables;

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
bouton-poussoir 23.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

To facilitate the assembly of the various parts used in the manufacture of a hunting rifle and consequently to reduce the cost price thereof, while providing a safe and considerably improved mechanism compared to known weapons of this type, the present invention is essentially characterized by the combination in the same gun of the following various improvements: 1) the hammer and the trigger are subjected to the action of a single spring;
2) the safety mechanism acts directly on the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
dog, and in the event of an untimely departure of the dog in the "armed" position, it stops it completely at the start of its course, thus achieving full safety which does not require any adjustment;
3) the rocker is produced without a tail and the push-button of the safety mechanism is carried by a plate held in place by means of a bevel made at one of its ends, the other end being fixed to the butt;
4) the rocking table is closed by a guard plate held in place without screws by means of two bevels, the guard iron reinforced by two longitudinal ribs fitting into said plate;
5) the lock key is kept in the open position automatically when opening the weapon;
6) the fore-end wood has a united and unique indentation due to the fact that the fore-end iron consists of a box inside which is housed the bolt of the long-arm, which engages in the tenon integral with the barrels ;
7) the cocking levers are operated by adjustable grips;
8) tightening of the forearm against the rocker is ensured by an adjustable screw acting on a tenon integral with the barrels.
The drawing appended to this specification shows only by way of example a two-shot hunting rifle to which the various improvements indicated above are applied.

In the left arming mechanism shown in Fig. 1, similar to that on the right, a hammer 1 is subjected in a breech boot or rocker 2 to the action of a spring 3 carried by a trigger 4.
This spring 3 penetrates by one of its ends into a cavity 5 provided in the hammer 1 and by its other end rests on a fork-shaped element 6 forming part of the trigger 4. The latter, pivoting at 7, carries on the side of the hammer a spout 8 coming into contact with a nose 9 provided in said hammer so as to keep the latter in the armed position. On the opposite side, the trigger is provided with a finger 10 resting on a trigger 11 which is particularly visible in FIG. In this figure a hammer and its spring have been omitted to show more clearly the shape of the trigger 4. Thus in the proposed mechanism a single spring 3 serves as a percussion spring and a trigger spring.
On the other hand, hammer 1 in the cocked position is stopped at the start of its travel by an integral safety device consisting of a part 12 pivoting at 13 on an extension 14 of lever 2. This part 12, in the safety position shown in FIG. 1, hangs by its pointed end 15 a nose 16 carried by the hammer 1. It is itself hooked to its other end in the form of a fork 17 by the curved end 18 of a fork 19 sliding in a groove 20, formed in the extension 14, under the action of a rod 21 itself actuated by the control tab 22 of a
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
push button 23.
We see at -.,! in Fig 1 by inter- rupting the part 12 in the non-safety position.
For simplicity, the rocker 2 is produced without a tail and the push-button 23 of the safety mechanism is mounted on a plate 24 which fits on the extension 14 of the rocker by a bevel 25 and fixed in 26 with the butt not shown in the drawing. The stock itself is joined to the rocker by a threaded rod 27 which is screwed into a hole provided in the extension 14.
The table 28 of the rocker 1 is closed from below by a U-shaped sub-guard plate 29, held in place without screws thanks. a bevel 30 made at the front and a bevel 31 made at the rear and fitting on the sub iron. guard 32, which fits between the branches 33 of the plate 29. This guard iron is reinforced by two ribs 34 running longitudinally and between which the detents 11 are held around a pivot 35 (Fig. 2) These ribs also carry the pivot axis 7 of the triggers 4, as well as the pivot axis 1 'of the hammers 1, the same axis thus serving respectively for the two triggers, the two detents and the two hammers. .
As can be seen in FIG. 3, to keep the key 36 of the bolt 37 in the open position when the weapon is open, the bolt has on its underside a cavity 38 into which the nose 39 can penetrate. a part in the form of a shoe pivoting at 41 on the guard iron 32 and influenced by a spring 42. When opening the key 36, the latch 37 withdrawing from the cavity 38 arrives in front of the nose 39, which under the action of its spring 42 rises and penetrates dams said cavity (Fig.4) and in this way maintains the key in the open position.
When closing the weapon, a notch 43 provided in the hook 44 of the barrels comes into contact with
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the front of the shoe 40 and forces the latter to pivot, it follows that the nose 39 withdraws from the cavity 38 and allows the lock to close.
In order to facilitate the working of the longwood 52 and to make it possible economically to produce a single and even notch in it, the logger iron is made up as seen in Fig. 5 of a housing 45 provided with two grooves 46 in which can slide a push rod 47, the end 48 of which engages in a known manner in a tenon integral with the barrels. The rod 47 is subjected in the housing 45 by the in. via a pin 49 to the action of a spring 50 housed longitudinally in a groove 51 of said housing.
In addition, into a notch 53 of the housing 45 penetrates a lug 54 of the barrel: this lug serves as a stop for an adjustment screw 55 passing through the housing 45, so that by tightening this screw 55 more or less the lug is constantly forced to fit exactly on the anterior curvature of the rocker.
The dogs 1 are in relation to their front part with a cocking lever 56 pivoting at 57 on the rocker, which in a known manner controls the extractors. When the hammer hammer 1 is disarmed, an adjustable socket or screw 58 carried by the forearm in a known manner is in contact with a bevel 59 of the cocking lever so that from the start of the opening of the weapon the percussion hammer is released from the primer of the fired cartridge.
