<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to a stone corridor intended as a covering for a slope and consists of blocks placed next to each other, some of the blocks of which project with raised heads above the immediately adjacent blocks, as described in Belgian patent specification 465,179.
In a stone corridor of this type, which can be used as bank defense, the raised heads have a

The aim is to obtain a wave-breaking effect and thereby reinforce the braking effect of the slope against the rising water. Due to the presence of the protruding ends, these blocks of the slope are quite heavy.
According to the invention, this weighting of the raised blocks can be reduced because the lower blocks, which are located on the side of the higher blocks facing the base of the slope, have a depression on their top surface. Due to the presence of this recess, the height of the impact surface of the head of the block located behind this recess is increased by the height of this recess, so that in order to obtain an equal braking effect against the rising wave, the head of the block can be correspondingly lower.
As a result, the block not only becomes lighter, so that it is easier to set the blocks, but the blocks also have a smaller volume, so that an important advantage is also obtained during transport. The lower blocks, which are recessed at their top surface, now also have a lighter weight.
In the drawing, in which an exemplary embodiment of the slope according to the invention is shown, Fig. 1 shows a top view and Fig. 2 shows a cross-section along the line II-II in Fig. 1.
In the drawing the blocks provided with raised heads are indicated by 1 and, as can be seen from Fig. 1, the blocks are located in the third row, counted from the foot of the slope, and after the third row the obscured blocks are every other row. row present. In the rows, in which there are no raised blocks, all blocks 2 can have one storey with a triangular profile, the bottom 4 of which is approximately horizontal,
so that the water can run away from the floor and no dirt remains in it.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Due to the steep rear wall 5 of the recess in the block 2 located in front of the raised block 1, the impact surface formed by the head of the block 1 is increased, so that this block 1 can be correspondingly lower. In addition, the resultant of the water impact will now engage lower on the raised block, so that the tilting moment explored thereon becomes smaller, so that the possibility of loosening becomes smaller. In addition, the blocks with recessed and recessed walls can interlock, as described in Belgian Patent Specification 465,179.
When the blocks are placed in bond, as fig.
1, the recesses in the lower blocks 2 of the longitudinal rows can form a continuous groove, so that a recess is still present over the entire width of each raised block 1. The low blocks 3 in the rows containing raised blocks 1 can also have a depression on their top surface
It should be noted that the storeys can also have a rectangular profile, instead of a triangular profile.
