<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
Ensuite, par l'intermédiaire d'un gaz d'apport, il est dirigé vers la chambre de dégazage 4 en formant un jet con- tinu. Dans celle-ci a lieu le dégazage du charbon. Le gaz de fabrication s'échappe à travers le conduit 4a et est séparé de manière connue dans le séparateur 5 du coke à grains fins, qui aussitôt peut être envoyé à l'état chaud par le conduit 5a dans un foyer de chaudière;

It is known to release fine-grained coal in a gas stream and thus obtain, in addition to fine-grained coke, which can be burned in boiler hearths, a degassing gas. E degassed the coal in an externally heated system,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Obtains, it is true, a degassing gas with high calorific value, but it must be taken into account that the coal, due to the bad heat transmission is heated and degassed only slowly, The average efficiency of - such an installation of degassing is therefore disadvantageously small.
In addition, the plastic zone of the carbon is traversed so slowly that the carbon remains stuck along the tubular walls and forms deposits, which as a result of the commitments of the degassing equipment.
In order to especially avoid these latter drawbacks, it has been proposed to carry out during the degassing of the coal an internal heating such that a gas, generally a part of the manufacturing gas, is burned with the admission of air into the degassing chambers and that the Carbon degassing is carried out simultaneously by means of this hot gas. By carrying out the operation in this way, the calorific value of the degassing gas is lowered by the nitrogen introduced with the combustion air. The volume of air required is determined by the amount of heat required in the degassing chamber, which amount depends primarily, besides degassing work and heat losses, on the amount of heat required to heat the chamber. coal.
It is considered to be extraordinarily disadvantageous that this required amount of heat must be covered by gas. expensive manufacturing drunk by means of another high-priced gas. On the other hand, in addition to this decrease in calorific value by rarefaction by means of nitrogen, another decrease in calorific value results from the composition of hydrocarbons such as methane. In addition, during combustion with lower air intake, oxygen
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
existing mainly binds to methane and higher hydrocarbons in the flue gas, usually with formation of CO and H2. Methane decomposes very quickly at high temperatures.
By the cooperation on the one hand of the rarefaction by nitrogen and on the other hand by the decomposition of the hydrocarbons, the calorific value of the production gas in the known processes is so reduced that, in most cases, one has so far not been able to produce any manufacturing gas whose calorific value meets the requirements of town gas.
One object of the invention is, among other things, to increase, in the degassing of fine-grained coal with internal heating of the degassing chamber, the calorific value of the degassing gas while at the same time reducing the required quantity of hot gas.
The invention relates to a process for the degassing of fine-grained coal or coal dust with internal heating of the degassing chamber and comprises preheating the coal before it enters the degassing chamber until it is left. softening, and to introduce by combustion of fuels, such as for example tar or other hydrocarbons, the combustion gases obtained simultaneously with the hot converted degassing gas as additional support gas to cover the quantity of heat required in at the same time with the material, to be degassed in the degassing chamber to cause, for example, swirling of these gases and to prevent undesirable reactions of the mixture after degassing by means of cooling of the degassing gas.
This last point can also be achieved by removing the heat during degassing.
In order to cool the mixture of gas and ooke, cooling zones can be formed in the degassing chamber. The degassing chamber is usefully cooled by recovery or regeneration to phauff the air from
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
combustion for heating fuel.
It is considered a particular invention to also preheat the degassed carbon before it enters the degassing chamber to near the softening point. The preheating temperature can be around 350-400 ° C and can be achieved without loss of process gas, since pre-degassing only occurs weakly at these temperatures and the main degassing of the carbon begins around the temperature. plastic melting zone Heating of the coal before it enters the degassing chamber can be achieved, for example, by means of flue gases from a boiler installation, in the flue gas stream or by means of a heat exchanger or in a floating tray.
The combustion air for heating the fuel, for example for the combustion of tar or other hydrocarbons, which are used for the production of the fuel gas required according to the invention, and the mass of production gas for the combustion. process can be preheated in heat exchangers of the recovery or regeneration type by the sensible heat of the process gases escaping from the degasser.
In order to manufacture combustion gases to be introduced into the degassing chamber in accordance with the invention, the latter proposes to release the gases for producing tar in a known manner, to subject this tar to combustion. Tar or other fuels are advantageously preheated and burnt with preheated air in such a way that, in addition to hydrogen and methane, it is given off; water and carbon monoxide, that is to say that the combustion of char-
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
good or other hydrocarbons is suitably carried out with the addition of lower air.
The advantages obtained by the invention are that, instead of expensive manufacturing gases or other expensive gases, the amount of heat required for the degassing chamber can be obtained by means of inexpensive fuels, by example of tar resulting from manufacture. Further advantages are that, by using a production gas as a feed gas, the formation of soot is simultaneously reduced and the thermodynamic conditions favorable for degassing are achieved.
Another advantage of paramount importance is that the hydrocarbons from the degassing, in particular the methane, remain in the process gas as high-value constituents, since cracking of the hydrocarbons in the process gas used as the gas is avoided. feed gas; Combustion of the process gas does not occur and the duration of the passage of the process gas mixed with the hot combustion gases in the hot swirling degassing zone is not long enough to attack the hydrocarbons and transform them. In this way the hydrocarbons remain contained in the production gas because undesirable reactions are avoided by cooling.
The mixture of gas and coke is again cooled to 700 ° C. in a short time and thus decomposition of the valuable hydrocarbons is avoided.
In summary, with respect to the present state of the art, it is prevented that the oxygen causes combustion of the latter with the production gas. In addition, the necessary production gas converted into feed gas is obtained through the gasification zone in such a short time that no decomposition occurs
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
significant amount of hydrocarbons.
In addition, low-value fuels, such as tar and other hydrocarbons, are enriched to produce heating gas as residues from mineral oil distillations and subjected to degassing, fuels which are difficult to use for other purposes; the favorable result is that a rich gas, for example town gas, can be obtained by degassing.
The invention is explained below with the aid of a drawing showing an embodiment which is only illustrative.
The drawing shows schematically an installation intended for carrying out the method according to the invention.
The charcoal flows from hopper 1 through mill 2 into heater 3, where it is reheated to around the softening point.
Then, by means of a supply gas, it is directed towards the degassing chamber 4, forming a continuous jet. In this one takes place the degassing of the coal. The manufacturing gas escapes through line 4a and is separated in a known manner in separator 5 from the fine-grained coke, which can immediately be sent hot through line 5a to a furnace hearth;
the process gas itself is cooled in the heat exchanger 6 to such an extent that the operating temperature of the process gas allows economical construction materials to be used for the fan 9, so as not to require steels with high heat resistance. The recoverable manufacturing gas is separated in the separator 7 from the coke still present and purified in the gas scrubber 8 from tar and other impurities.
The required amount of heat can be obtained by combustion of the tar and the separated impurities in the gas scrubber 8, which are reheated in a heat exchanger 10.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
The essential compressed combustion air is heated in a heat exchanger 11 placed in the cooling duct 12 of the degassing chamber and burned in the burner 13 with the tars and other materials which have been preheated.
