<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The object of the invention is a device intended to protect users of electrically controlled appliances, in particular washing machines, etc., from accidents, and it especially provides for insertion into the connecting wire. switch protected against any loss of bolt, The user of electrically controlled appliances, and particularly of household appliances, is exposed to severe
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
dangers that can be caused by loss of current in connection wires, plugs, switches, etc.
To overcome this drawback, the present invention provides for the use of a device entirely covered with an insulating material and consisting of an electric wire terminating at one of its ends with a plug in the form of a cover and at the other end by an unarmed block., and split at a certain place to allow the insertion of an absolutely hermetic switch.
The plug cover serves to completely enclose the socket outlet used, while the block in which the end of the wire is pressed is used for connection and fixing to the electric motor.
By way of example only, the device according to the invention is shown in the drawing where:
Fig.1 gives a view of the device in place, and @ Fig.2 a section through the various elements of this device on a larger scale.
As can be seen in Fig.l and 2, the device comprises an electrical conductor in a rubberized sheath composed of two parts 1 and 2, one of which is integral at one of its ends with a male rubber plug made in the form of a cover 3 completely encompassing a current socket applied to a wall 4, and the other 2 of which passes through without play, at one of its ends, an unreinforced rubber block which is fixed in a known manner to an electric motor 6 worn for example by a washing machine.
The free ends of conductors 1 and 2 are connected to a bipolar switch made up of a fiber plate 7 fitted with four small phosphor bronze strips 8, where said conductors 1 and 2 are connected, and a contactor also made of fiber 9 fitted with two plates
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
are also in phosphor bronze - 10 (Fig. 2).
The contact 9 carries at each of its ends a nose 11 which abuts in a recess 12 provided on the plate 7 in order to exactly define the open or closed positions of said contactor,
The switch with the end of the conductors is enclosed in a rubber mass 13 in which the contactor 9 can slide. This rubber mass 13 is itself enclosed in a rubber casing 14 firmly joined to the rubber sheath. conductors 1. and 2 ,,
The contactor 9, which passes through the rubber mass 13, is however covered by this casing 14 and the places of thrust on it are indicated by the words open "and" closed ", or simply the letters" O "and "F" (see Fig.l).
Due to this mounting method, the bipolar switch is completely hermetic. It is the same for the connection to the socket, since plug 3 in ** globes it, and for the connection to the motor, the end of wire 2 being clamped in block 5. In this way, all the device is hermetic and the operation of the contactor 9 for opening and closing the current is carried out by the user protected from any loss of current and accidents that may result therefrom.
It was stated in the description of the device that it was covered with rubber, but it is obvious that it could be coated with any insulating material, such as plastic, for example. , CLAIMS.
