<EMI ID=7.1>

The present invention relates to a multiple spindle head adaptable to drilling machines or the like, particularly intended for the machining of series of parts and allowing, depending on the case and the number of its spindles, to drill, tap, countersink, ream or chamber by the simple rotation of a lockable revolver turret in each working position.
It is further characterized by the fact that it comprises a rapid tapping system determined by the control of the upward movement of the spindle holder sleeve of the drilling machine.
Finally, a machining stop, adjustable in all positions, is provided to cooperate with each of the spindles of the head.
The invention will be better understood from the following description and

A male clutch cone 6 and a pinion 7 are made integral
<EMI ID = 6.1>
Pinion 7 drives a pinion via an intermediate gear 8 (not very visible in figure 2 because it is placed behind)
<EMI ID = 7.1>
The assembly 9-10-11 rotates freely on an axis 12 held, for example, in the body 1 by screws 13 forming axial stops.
Under and in the extension of the shaft 5 is disposed a second sliding shaft 14, to the upper part of which is fixed a double female cone 15-16 of clutch.
The female cone 15 can be applied against the aforementioned male cone 6 and the female cone 16 can be applied against a male cone 17 integral with a pinion 18 meshing with that 10 above.
The cone 17 and the pinion 18 are independent of the sliding shaft 14 and are centered in the body 1 by means of a ball winding 190
The lower end of the shaft 14 is provided with a pinion
20 with two cheeks 21 and 22.
The turret 2 is arranged in an oblique plane of the body 1 using a crown 23, force-fitted in a circular housing

be for example) whose heads 25, housed in a groove 26 of the crown 23, ensure the fixing of said turret while allowing its rotation. These screws are screwed into the turret 2, after the crown has been fitted and the said turret has been fitted. For this purpose, the body 1 and the crown 23 each have a hole 27 (FIG. 5) which is brought opposite one another when the said crown is fitted.
The tapped holes are successively brought in the turret opposite the holes 27 to screw the screws 24.
Optionally, the guiding, produced here by the screw heads, can be carried out using rectified rollers held by special screws.
The turret 2 comprises pins 28 (four in the example shown) arranged so that that, brought by rotation of the turret to the lower part, is vertical and placed in the same plane as the shafts 5 and 14.
Each of the pins 28 is mounted, by means of ball bearings 29 in a sliding sleeve 30, subjected to the action of a spring
31 pushing it towards the inside of the head and whose stroke is limited by an adjustable eccentric stop 32.
The spring 31 is held in place by a knurled nut 33 serving, at the same time, to fix a machining stop which will be described later.
The part of the spindle 28 extending outside the turret 2 is provided, for example, with a mandrel 34 or other tool fixing device.
The end of the pin 28 inside the head is provided with a pinion 35 which can mesh with that 20 of the shaft.
14 when said pin is brought into the same plane, that is to say vertically and to the lower part (fig.2).
The pinion 35 has flanks 36-36 ', inclined, which can cooperate with the cheeks 21 and 22.
The locking device making it possible to immobilize the turret in the chosen position consists of a button 37, which can slide in a boss 38 placed in the center of the turret 2, subjected to the action of a return spring 39 and maintained by a nut 40.
The rod 41 of the button 37 is hollow and has a slot 42 into which the end 43 of a lever articulated in a yoke penetrates.
44 and whose other end 45 can actuate a sliding lock 46,
spring 47, able to enter one of the four strikers provided on the crown 23 (fig. 3).
By pressing button 37, the turret 2 is unlocked and can be rotated to bring one of its pins into the working position.
The machining stop consists of an annular segment 48 of trapezoidal section placed in an annular housing of the same section formed, on the one hand, by the lower part 49 of the sleeve in which the sleeve 30 slides and, on the other hand , by nut 33.
By slightly loosening nut 33, segment 48 can be rotated in its housing.
