The object of the invention is a tight closure for a container, in particular for a glass bottle, with a closure body made of a material which is practically non-deformable, such as glass, terracotta, artificial resin known in the trade. under the name of bakelite, etc ..., body which can be brought to its closed position without screwing movement and which is applied to the receptacle, in this position, with the interposition of a body ensuring the sealing, of deformable material, for example rubber, cork, paper, soft metal or the like.
In the known closures for beer bottles in particular, there is provided a rubber sealing ring, removable, that is to say more or less free on the shutter body, which, for this purpose, has, on the side of the neck of the bottle, a head holding said ring. But there is, in this case, the disadvantage that between the sealing ring and the shutter body, it can easily attach impurities, which are not removed by the washing operation, most often mechanical, provided for cleaning bottles. Another disadvantage is that the rubber ring, exposed to air over the major part of its surface, quickly becomes brittle and unusable and therefore has a considerably shorter service life than the sealing body.
Finally, another drawback lies in the fact that the head of the shutter body complicates the mechanical positioning of the latter, for the closed position.
The present invention aims to avoid these drawbacks it resides in the fact that the shutter body has at least one recess provided at its periphery, which recess is limited outwardly by at least one ridge-shaped edge and in which a part at least, arranged circularly, of the sealing body is pushed in and recessed in such a way that the latter is held by the shutter body and is fully applied at least against each peripheral edge, in the form of a ridge, of the shutter body, which limits the recess. The accompanying drawing gives four exemplary embodiments of the leaktight closure for a container according to the invention.
FIG. 1 shows, in axial section, a yoke closure for a bottle, in the closed position; Figures 2 and 3 each show, in section, another embodiment of the shutter body, with sealing body; ka figure 4 shows, partially in side view and partially in axial section, a fourth embodiment of the shutter body with sealing ring, and figure 5 gives a bottom view of the elements shown in figure 4.
The shutter body 10 is crossed, perpendicularly to its geometric axis, by an articulated bracket 11, which maintains it, while leaving it removable, on the edge 14 of the neck of the bottle, in the closed position shown in FIG. 1, thanks to a tension bracket 13, rotatably mounted in the neck 12.
The shutter body 10 has a peripheral recess 15, which forms a circle around its geometrical axis and in which is driven and embedded a sealing ring 16, made of deformable material, for example rubber, artificial resin, soft metal containing preferably tin or aluminum or the like, so that it rests fully at least against the ridge-shaped peripheral edges 17 of the closure body 10, which limit the 'of course 15, and that it cannot fall.
Under the effect of the closing pressure determined by the caliper 13, the sealing ring 16 is, because it can be deformed due to its elasticity or its plasticity, bent and tightened in a leaktight manner. , in the region of its outer face 18, against the surface of the edge 14 of the neck of the bottle. When the closure body, with its resiliently deformable sealing ring, is removed from the neck of the bottle, the outer face 18 resumes the position indicated in FIG. 1 by the dashed lines.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The recess 15 is advantageously shaped such that the sealing ring 16, under the effect of the closing pressure, is pressed at a wedge against the coaxial surfaces of revolution facing each other 15 'of the recess 15, these surfaces avoiding crushing or flattening of the sealing ring with rejection outwards, out of the recess.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the sealing body, which is advantageously made of rubber, forms a cap 20, with an annular peripheral bead 21, which is driven out and recessed in a corresponding recess 22 of the body d 'sealing 23, between coaxial surfaces of revolution, facing one another, 22', of the latter, in such a way that it maintains the cap 20 fully pressed against the sealing body. In order to keep the shutter body 23 almost without possible rotation on the articulated yoke 24, in the case of the mechanical closure, the latter has, for example, in the non-circular transverse section passage hole 25 of the body d 'obturation, a curved shape transversely with respect to the geometric axis of the latter, preferably an undulating shape.
The shutter body 30 shown in FIG. 3 is provided with a sealing ring of circular cross section 31, which, by part of its cross section, is embedded in an annular groove 32, of corresponding cross section. , said sealing ring 31, made of a resiliently deformable material, such as rubber, being held, stretched due to its elasticity by the closure body, in the annular groove and pressing fully against the surface of revolution 32 'thereof.
In the case of a seal that can be deformed due to its plasticity, the annular groove could have a cross section such that a narrowing would follow, from the outside to the inside, an enlargement in which the ring of waterproofing would be fixed or anchored.
In the embodiment shown in Figures 4 and 5, the annular recess 40 of the closure body 41 has alternating sections, with relatively wide or relatively narrow opening respectively, which each extend over an arc of a circle. about 60. In the recess 40 is driven a sealing ring 42, which fills this recess and which is embedded in its narrowed sections 43 so that it does not come out and that it rests fully against the surfaces. of coaxial revolution, facing each other, 4C 'and 43' of the shutter body 41.
In the recess of the closure body, the surface of the sealing body could, instead of being applied at all points on the closure body, be located, in places, at a distance from the latter, so well that the hollows thus formed would be reduced, in the case of an elastically deformable sealing body, when the latter was pushed into the recess, and that the adhesion of the sealing body would be increased thereby
In principle, the invention can still find its application in the case of containers other than bottles, for example in the case of sterilization jars and the like, the free rubber ring, hitherto usual, being able to be avoided.
Several recesses can be provided, at a distance from each other, so that a corresponding number of parts of the sealing body, arranged in a circle with respect to one another, can be press-fitted therein. , these parts securing the sealing body in the closure body.
