an axis transverse to the frame, its two uprights each carrying a journal engaged in a closed bearing. fixed to the frame.
One of the aims of the invention is to produce a frame, the opening of which remains in all the positions to which it is brought.
<EMI ID = 3.1>
Finally and a sufficient approach of the lips of the slot prevents the free rotation of the opening, the bearing carrying, for this purpose, an adjusting screw. Preferably, this bearing is provided with a shell made of fiein lining.
Another object of the invention is to ensure particularly effective locking of the opening by a simple and easy operation. At or near each corner of the frame, there is a bolt intended to be engaged in a keeper. The four bolts are part of a mechanism that simultaneously impresses their movements. This mechanism comprises two rack and pinion rods housed in the bottom of the frame. Starting from the middle of the latter, they extend towards the lateral sides and are susceptible to inverse and simultaneous longitudinal movements which are imparted to them by a wheel
median toothed bearing an operating handle. Each rod meshes with
an idler gear which is nested in the corresponding corner of the frame
and which drives a side rod housed in an upright.
In one embodiment. the mechanism is housed in the
opening frame. The bolts are formed by the ends of the ti-

mant. In another embodiment, the mechanism is housed in the frame of the frame and each of its rods carries a bolt fixed transversely and intended to enter a keeper of the opening.
The particular features of the invention will emerge from the description of the appended drawings, given by way of example.

The journals 5 and the bearings 6 can be fixed respectively to the frame and to the sash, instead of being fixed to the sash and to the frame.
The locking of the leaf 1 is ensured at or near each of its angles, by the engagement of a bolt 11 or 12, in a keep 13. The four bolts 11 or 12 belong to a mechanism which gives them a movement. simultaneous. This mechanism comprises two rods 14 with racks, housed in the bottom of the frame. Starting from the middle, where they mesh with a toothed wheel 15, the rods 14 extend towards the lateral sides of the frame. They are thus simultaneously animated by inverse longitudinal movements when the wheel 15 which carries a handle 16 for this purpose is rotated. By a second rack, each rod 14 meshes with a return pinion 17 nested in the frame. , in the angle where it ends, which drives a lateral rod 18, housed in an upright. Each rod 14
or 18 is made of two sections. Preferably, the two sections of the same rod are joined by an entredeux 19, the length of which is appropriate to the extent of the rod. The elements are assembled by transverse screws. These arrangements make it possible to adapt the mechanism to the dimensions of the frame by choosing a rod section or, preferably, an entredeux of suitable length.
In one embodiment (Fig. 1), the mechanism is housed in the frame of the opening 1. The ends of the rods 14 and 18 constitute the bolts 11 which ensure the locking by engaging in the keepers 13 of the frame 2. .
In another embodiment (Fig. 3), the mechanism is

The invention is not limited to the arrangements described above, modifications being able to be made to them without departing from its scope.
