DISPOSITIF DE DECHARGE POUR ARMES AUTOMATIQUESo

La description suivante vise un dispositif de décharge qui permet le passage à volonté des coups Isolés au feu continu en offrant en même temps la possibilité de changer le système de position de la fermeture à verrou fermé ou ouvert. On a choisi pour plus de facilité et une meilleure compréhension du fonctionnement un exemple d'allumage par un mouvement simultané du percuteur et du boulon de verrou ;
Fig. 1 est une vue en élévation latérale de la partie centrale d'une arme exécutée suivant l'Invention;
Fig. 2 est une vue en coupe verticale conventionnelle, le déchar- geur en position de "sûreté";
Fig. 3 une coupe verticale longitudinale du logement, verrou et déchargeur suivant l'Invention, en position de feu individuel;

DISCHARGE DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC WEAPONS
The present invention relates to an improved discharge device for automatic weapons which allows the change at will between individual discharge and continuous fire, with the possibility of changing the opening position system allowing closed or open bolt fire. and at the same time put the weapon in the safe position.
Until now, automatic weapons were known which, depending on their operation, were classified in the group of weapons with gas outlet or recoil, in the group of weapons closed by a sledgehammer, or finally in the group of braked bolt weapons. When triggered, they all operate with the aperture closed (automatic rifles and some types of machine guns) or with the aperture open (especially automatic pistols and most machine guns).
While in automatic rifles, the precision of the fire requires that the bolt be locked in its forward position with a cartridge in the housing, in machine guns, especially for light machine guns with a high rate of fire, the heating of the gun. tube requests the latch open, the latch being held back here all the time until the fire is interrupted and without a cartridge in the magazine or housing.
It is only by acting on the trigger that the lock goes forward and introduces a cartridge into the tube, igniting it immediately.
Automatic weapons built according to these principles inevitably have drawbacks and drawbacks since for Individual firing, the essential condition of which is high precision, this retreat compromises the precision of the shot by moving the mass of the bolt which moves the bolt forward in its movement. center of gravity of the weapon. For continuous fire, with the magazine or housing open, the heated tube cannot cool down due to lack of fresh air circulation, so there is the danger of auto-ignition of the cartridges which are inserted in such a way. permanently in the housing, a danger above all inherent to weapons which, having to be of reduced weight, do not allow the heat capacity for the tube to be increased at will or the use of additional cooling devices.

The following description aims at a discharge device which allows the passage at will of the insulated shots to continuous fire while at the same time offering the possibility of changing the system of position from the lock to closed or open latch. An example of ignition by simultaneous movement of the striker and the bolt bolt has been chosen for greater ease and better understanding of the operation;
the trigger ignition systems are analogous
In the following description, with reference to the accompanying drawings which represent by way of nonlimiting example, since the execution may vary in practice by details of forms which do not affect the essence of the invention, without for this reason be outside the requested protection limits, an example of a practical application for which, in the drawings
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of the central part of a weapon made according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a view in conventional vertical section, the unloader in the "safe" position;
Fig. 3 a longitudinal vertical section of the housing, lock and unloader according to the invention, in individual fire position;
Fig. 4 a cut similar to the previous one, but in position of "bursts" or machine gun fire. It will be noted that all the figures are necessarily schematic since an appropriate application is required for each automatic weapon of the momentary positions of the respective parts.
The entire mechanism is housed in a boot 17 which can be easily mounted in the butt 18.
Discharge for shot "shot by shot" (Fig. 3) * Lever 1, mounted on one side of the stock and integral with pin 2, is in the "T" position. Lock 3 is released and pulled towards 1. ' rear by the mounting crank. The locking lever 4 has been deviated from the path that the lock 3 must travel by the triple position lever 1 and the axis 2 integral with the latter, so as not to be able to retain the said lock 3. If you let go. present the mounting crank, the latch 3 therefore advances rapidly under the pressure of the spring 5, Introduces a cartridge into the chamber of the tube and locks.
During these movements the nut of the screw 6a of the striker 6 has been gripped by the claw 7a of the discharge lever 7, thus charging the spring of the striker 8; the weapon is therefore loaded and ready for Isolated firing. By pressing the trigger 9, by means of the tie rod 10 of the unloader housed between the switch 11 and linked by the hook 12 to the trigger 9, the release lever 7 of the nut 6a of the firing pin 6 is released and under pressure of the spring 8, its own firing pin 13 and its spring are released forwards and ignite the cartridge.
Under the pressure of the gases given off by the powder, for example in the tube, the piston 14 releases the lock 3 and pushes it towards 1. ' back. If the shooter however opens above the trigger, the Switch is interposed on the path to be covered by the bolt 3 and then deflected by the receding bolt with which the release lever 10 of the lever 7 is released and under the pressure of the spring 15 of this unloading lever advances one farthest forward in its initial position so that the nut of the screw 6a remains fixed and again compresses the striker spring 8, and this is not that while the trigger 9 and the trinquet 10 return to be placed below the discharge lever 7, thus finally blocking the closure.
During the recoil of the lock 3 the empty sheath is expelled and during the advance a new cartridge is introduced into the chamber or core of the barrel. By pressing the trigger 9 again, the movements described above are repeated identically.
For the safety of the weapon in the event of interruption of the fire, one puts the lever 1 mounted on one side of the stock, in the "S" position. In this case the lever 7 is blocked by the axis 2 in such a way that the weapon can operate neither in Isolated fire nor in continuous fire.
If one wishes to discharge the weapon in a "burst" fire or machine gun fire, one places lever 1 in the "R" position. Switch 4 deflects so that even during discharge it cannot intercept the recoil
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
lock 3. In addition, the staysail 10 is deflected backwards by the hook
2a fixed to the axle 2 so as to engage by its rear part, the release lever 7.
The retention lever 4 has entered the recoil of the lock 3 and the weapon operates as explained previously% the lock 3 pushes with the lower edge first the retention lever 4 - lowering the spring
16; With the weapon thus loaded, the lever 4. moves again until it holds the bolt in its rearward position.
When the trigger 9 is pressed, the lever 4 comes out of the recoil path of the lock 3 by means of lateral hooks 9a fixed to the trigger Simultaneously moved by the stop lever, the lever
7 moves from the retreat path of the firing pin screw nut 6 and the latch moves forward under the pressure of the spring 5 at the same time introducing a cartridge into the chamber, which cartridge is ignited by the firing pin from the complete locking of the lock 30
Under the pressure of the gases produced by the powder in the tube, the lock is released and is pushed backwards. During this movement the empty sheath is expelled and all movements are repeated until the shooter releases the trigger.
Afterwards, the retention lever 4 returns to position itself in the recoil of the bolt 3 and keeps it held backwards ,, At the start of the continuous fire, the first shot can be fired with the bolt in the front. When firing is stopped, latch 3 is still open.
As can be seen from the description, the device, object of the invention, unlike the systems known until now, has the great advantage of allowing precise individual shooting on the one hand, since the lock remains at the front. and does not thus modify by its moving mass the position of the center of gravity of the weapon.On the other hand, the same device allows continuous fire, the bolt remaining open during this time until inter- bursting fire.
Although we have only described here the application of the new device to firearms with ignition due to the simultaneous movements of the firing pin and the bolt of the bolt, it can just as well be applied to weapons with direct ignition by the trigger. .
