<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

DEVICE FOR TRANSPORTING MAGNETOGRAM MEDIA.
The object of the invention relates to a device for transporting tape recorder supports in which the voice wheel is connected to a mobile mass. In accordance with the invention, the mobile mass is provided with contact surfaces on which the propulsion means for the reels of strips can act, The mobile mass preferably has substantially the shape of a pot and it is provided both on the side interior than on the exterior side of the mobile mass of the contact surfaces corresponding to the propulsion means. the contact surfaces can be given a truncated cone shape if the propulsion means are provided with truncated cone surfaces or a grooved or plain shape if, for example, as propulsion means belts or friction rollers are used.
In the first case one of the propelling means for the web reels can attack the interior surface, the other propelling means the exterior surface of the moving mass. In this regard, it is recommended to realize the propulsion means in such a way that parts of these means can be displaced axially. One of the propelling means is provided externally with truncated cone-shaped contact surfaces with brushes of silk or superpolyamide which continually touch the substantially vertical contact surfaces of the moving mass so that between the means of propulsion and moving mass there is a slippery connection.
If the moving mass and the coil shafts are driven by endless belts or the like, it is better to choose the diameter of the contact surfaces for the propelling means smaller ¯ than the larger diameter of the moving mass in the form of pot. A particularly simple arrangement can be achieved if one arranges the axes of the web reels, which are controlled by the moving mass, oscillating separately or together because then each number of revolutions is adjusted independently of the number of driving revolutions, 'If the sound support is arranged in a cassette, it is recommended to place the reel axes on a base plate which can oscillate around an axis parallel to the axes

of coils.
The oscillation axis is at best fixed on the line connecting the two coil axes and between these axes.
Other characteristics emerge from the description.
The accompanying drawings show schematically, by way of non-limiting examples, embodiments of the invention.
Figure 1 is a cross section of the cover of a magneto. phone and the mobile mass which forms with the voice wheel a set, with the coil axes.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the moving mass and the coil shafts with the transmission means in the position in which the magnetogram carrier is rapidly rewound.
Fig. 3 is a plan view corresponding to the device of Fig. 2 in the position in which the magnetogram carrier is wound in the direction of advance with normal speed.
Fig. 4 is a plan view according to Figs. 2 and 3 in the position in which rapid winding in the direction of advance is achieved.
The cores 1 and 2 of the unwinding coils and the winding are mounted relatively in the cover 3 of the tape recorder so that the coils can be placed thereon. The cores are hollow so that inside the shafts 4 and 5 can be moved axially under the action of the springs 6 and 7. In the bearing 8 is mounted the axis 9 of the movable mass in the form of a pot which is fixed to it at 10 by welding, for example.
The moving mass has contact surfaces-12., 13 and 14.
On the shaft 4 is fixed a frustoconical part 15, on the shaft 5 a cylindrical part 16 around which are arranged 'bristles 17 with a frustoconical part 18.
It is assumed that the mobile mass 11 rotates. The voice roulette 19 therefore also turns. By the arrangement of the bristles 17 the core 2 is driven with sliding.
The sound support, not shown, passes over the sound wheel 19 and winds up on the reel placed on the core 2. If the sound support must be quickly rewound then the shaft 4 is pushed against the action of the spring 6 downwards. so that the surfaces 20 and 12 come into contact; the magnetogram support is quickly rewound. If, on the other hand, we want to move the magnetog am support forward rapidly, then we push the shaft 5 downwards until the surface 21 comes into contact with the surface 14, then we have an energetic passage.
Of course, the shafts 4 and 5 are provided with means which make it possible to maintain them in the desired positions. It is also possible to use notches, bayonet locks or the like. They have not been shown to simplify the drawing.
It is also possible, for example, under the mobile mass 11 to provide two grooves 22, 23 as contact surfaces, thus dispensing with the contact surfaces 12, 13,14 of the mobile mass, if it is desired to drive the cores 1 and 2 by belts without fine or the like. The axis 9 of the movable mass 11, which is integral with the voice wheel 19, which is not visible in Figures 2 to 4, is mounted in the bearing 8. The axes 24, 25 on which are placed the coils of unwinding and winding are, in the exemplary embodiment, mounted on a base plate 26 which can oscillate around the axis 27 of the support 28.
In the, 5 grooves 22, 23 are placed endless belts 29, 30, the belt 29 of which always drives a groove pulley -31 which is strongly fixed to the shaft 32. The shaft 32 therefore rotates when the moving mass 11 rotates in the direction of arrow 33 in the same direction. The shaft 32 is mounted in a bearing 34. The endless belt 30, for example of rubber, engages the grooved pulley 35 which is fixed to the spool axis 25.
The spool pin 24 also carries a grooved pulley 36 which in the example of Figure 2 always
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
che shaft 32, therefore, when the movable mass 11 rotates in the direction of arrow 33, rotates in the direction of arrow 37. The spool axis 24 therefore rotates counterclockwise. shows what causes the unwinding reel placed on it and the core to rotate in the same direction and thus the magnetogram holder is quickly rewound.
If the cassette with the seat plate 26 is placed in the position shown in figure 3 then the pulley
36 is out of engagement with the shaft 32, at the same time the tension of the belt 30 is increased and the pulley 35 rotates in the direction of the arrow 38 and the winding spool, which is placed on it. The spindle 25 begins to rotate in the same direction and the magnetogram holder is wound onto the winding spool at normal speed because between the belt 30 and the groove pulley 35 there is slippage.
Since the magnetic head, which is not shown, due to its pressure on the magnetogram holder exerts a certain frictional force and the tension of the belt 30 does not vary, the magnetogram holder is spooled regularly.
If the magnetogram support is to be wound up faster than possible in the position shown in Figure 2, it is necessary to oscillate the base plate 26 so that the existing slippage disappears. still in the position according to figure 3, that the grooved pulley of the movable mass 11 drives the grooved pulley 35 without slipping by the belt 30, of course each rotation of the seat plate 26 with respect to the normal position automatically releases the magnetogram holder from the magnetic head and pressure roller.
The oscillation of the base plate 26, and of the different axes when there is no base plate, can be controlled by known means such as a lever transmission, traction means or analogues which act on the base plate.
Of course, the characteristics of an exemplary embodiment can be combined with the characteristics of the other example.
