<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
On a représentée à titre d'exemples, des formes constructives d'un dispositif de fixation selon l'invention au dessin annexé, dans lequel-. la figure 1 est'une vue perspective d'une griffe de coffrage; la figure 2 est une vue perspective de la griffe de la figure 1 avec ses mâchoires pénétrant dans les fentes des ailes. juxtaposées de panneaux de coffrage et les serrant ensemble; la figure 3 est une vue perspective de détail d'un panneau de cof- frage;
qu'on peut déplacer entre les mâchoires 5 et qui s'engage dans un écrou 8 formé dans pâme renforcée 9, les mâchoires à crochet 5 ayant des gorges qui comportent des plans obliques opposés 10. Une extrémité de la vis 7 comporte un trou 11 destiné à recevoir un outil à main pour serrer et desserrer la vis et l'autre extrémité comporte un siège flot- tant ou une butée flottante 12, muni de plans inclinés qui convergent vers le centre du siège; ce siège a des cornes 13 butant librement contre les faces internes des branches 6 afin d'empêcher la butée 12 de tourner ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

FORMWORK FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE WORKS.
The invention relates to a formwork for the construction of concrete works or the like, such as walls and pillars, and it relates to a formwork of the type comprising panel elements intended to be assembled vertically by being superimposed on each other. others so as to form spaced walls, the gap of which must be filled with concrete or a similar product, after setting which the formwork can be dismantled.
The invention constitutes an improvement to the patent application of the same company n 4980118 of September 14, 1950 which provides elements of rectangular metal panels, each of which has on one of its faces along its periphery,
a wing at right angles, at least approximately, with evenly spaced slits, the panels coming into wing-to-wing contact with the facing slits and forming on the other side a solid casing wall, while screw actuated claws have jaws with hooks which penetrate into the facing slots and are intended, when tightening against the edges of the panels of a floating seat of the screw, to unite and tighten the facing wings in juxtaposition position.
The main object of the invention is to establish a simple, efficient and inexpensive device for fixing together the wing panels with slitso
According to the present invention,
a clamping device for clamping the slotted flanges of the shuttering panels in the juxtaposition position comprises a forked support or stirrup having hook jaws provided with bearing surfaces and intended to penetrate into the slits facing the flanges panels and a screw mounted so as to be able to turn in the head of the fork and to be moved between these jaws,
this screw having a floating seat intended to be clamped against the edges of the juxtaposed wings and cooperating with said bearing surfaces in the jaws to ensure a triangular hooking effect so that the wings are aligned and tightly tight against each other. othero
The best results are obtained when the hook jaws are provided with grooves with oblique or converging faces by which they

exert opposing pressure on the ends of the slots and squeeze the batteries in physical contact
In the preferred embodiment of the invention,
the floating seat or the floating stop has inclined planes which converge on the seat and horns which act on the wings of the calliper so as to prevent the rotation of the stop.
Constructive forms of a fastening device according to the invention have been shown by way of examples in the accompanying drawing, in which-. Figure 1 is a perspective view of a shuttering claw; Figure 2 is a perspective view of the claw of Figure 1 with its jaws entering the slots in the wings. juxtaposed shuttering panels and clamping them together; FIG. 3 is a detailed perspective view of a formwork panel;
Figure 4 is a side view in vertical section of a claw in the position of action on the formwork and shows how the panel flanges are aligned and how the panels are clamped in physical contact by the jaws; Figure 5 is a plan view of the claw for securing the panels to the scaffolding; Figure 6 is an end view corresponding to Figure 5; and Figure 7 is a perspective view showing the claw of Figure 5 which secures the panels to a vertical scaffold tube.
The general arrangement of the shuttering panels and the application of the claws to these panels have been more particularly described and represented in the prior application recalled above.
It will be recalled that the formwork is composed of rectangular panels 1 made of sheet metal having on one side marginal flanges 3 oriented at right angles to the plane of the panel, each flange 3 having several windows 4 regularly spaced so that the slots 4 of each wing 3 can be brought opposite those of another panel when these wings 3 are placed side by side when the panels are erected in the form of a temporary cavity wall, intended to be filled with concrete.
Each claw consists of a forked support 4a having a general U-shaped profile and comprising hook jaws 5 on its branches 6 and a central clamping screw 7,
which can be moved between the jaws 5 and which engages in a nut 8 formed in reinforced blade 9, the hooked jaws 5 having grooves which comprise opposed oblique planes 10. One end of the screw 7 has a hole 11 intended to receive a hand tool for tightening and loosening the screw and the other end comprises a floating seat or a floating stop 12, provided with inclined planes which converge towards the center of the seat; this seat has horns 13 freely abutting against the internal faces of the branches 6 in order to prevent the stop 12 from rotating;
one variant, these horns can abut against the edges of the branches 60 Said claws 4a are of identical construction and shape to clamp the wings 3 of the panels in alignment (figures 2 and 4) and to fix the panels on the scaffolding (figure 7).
When erecting the panels 1 into a formwork, these panels are placed in abutment by their wings 3 and the wings are joined together by the hook jaws 5 of the claws 4a by simply inserting the hook jaws 5 into the facing slots 4 and tightening the screw 7 when its floating seat or its floating stop 12 gathers the wings 1 against each other and exerts a clamping force against the edges 14 of the wings 3 in contact. It can be seen more particularly from FIG. 3 that one end of each slot 4 has oblique faces at 15 to correspond to the grooves 10 of the hook jaws 5. This arrangement promotes the clamping effect.
The re-
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The result is that the wings of the panels are aligned and at the same time the jaws 5 with their converging grooves 10 press in opposite directions against the ends of the slots 4 of the corresponding wings, so that a very tight seal can be made at the tops of a triangleo
As described above, the claws can have varying longitudinal dimensions, as will be appreciated by comparing Figures 1, 2 and 4 with Figures 5 and 7 and, in the application of the claw shown in FIG. 7, the floating stop 12 of the tightening screw cooperates with an element 2 of the tubular scaffolding or with another part of the scaffolding as the case may be,
so that an identical claw construction can be used to secure the wing panels 1 to the scaffolding.
It will be obvious to specialists that this unique type claw construction constitutes an important advantage for the rapid assembly and disassembly of the formwork in which the wing panels are used, as indicated above, since there is no no free parts, which not only saves assembly time and enables non-specialized personnel to quickly receive and execute simple assembly instructions, but also saves money from the reduction loss of components or independent elements compared to other serrige devices for formwork.
The advantages which flow from the invention consist in that the tightening of the forked claws in engagement with the slotted wings of the panels fulfills a double role consisting in that on the one hand the panels are aligned and that, on the other hand, the jaws bring the wings together and tighten them tightly in physical contact
