  CONSTRUCTION BLOCK.

The present invention relates to a prefabricated building block made of concrete or any other agglomerated material which is essentially distinguished from the artificial hollow and profiled building elements known in that in the recess formed in a block a protruding stud partially fits on it. the contact face of the neighboring block. In addition, a mortar joint is provided in a suitable notch provided in the contact plane of neighboring elements, both in the horizontal plane and in the vertical plane.

The use of building blocks of this kind is particularly advantageous as regards both the simplicity of their manufacture and the speed of their assembly for the erection of walls, partitions, etc.

The drawing appended to this specification shows only by way of example the object of the invention. In this drawing:
Fig. 1 is a vertical section through a section of wall made up of blocks according to the invention, and
Fig. 2 is a plan view of a corresponding seat.

In the embodiment shown in the drawing, each prefabricated building block 1, made of concrete or any other agglomerated and molded material, internally has a cavity 2, which opens axially on the underside of the block via a channel 3, preferably cylindrical. . On the other hand, on the upper face of each block protrudes a central stud 4 whose height is slightly greater than that of the channel 3, and whose diameter is substantially equal to that of this channel.

Leaves are provided respectively at 5 and 6 in block 1 and at the base of the stud.

Finally, on one of its horizontal lateral faces, each block 1 has on both sides towards the outside a notch 7 in which the mortar 8 will form a connecting joint with the neighboring block. It is the same on one of its vertical faces, as it is visible in 9, spec-

   spreading in Fig. 2.

The blocks thus formed have a high resistance for a reduced weight, their manufacture in the press does not cause any difficulty and their assembly for the erection of a wall or a partition will not require any labor. reduced and non-specialized work.

For the erection of a building, we will obviously have to provide corner blocks, etc. .., made according to the type described above.

The respective dimensions of these blocks can obviously vary according to the applications; it has been recognized that for ease of handling and assembly, the following dimensions are particularly advisable, total length: 400mm, width: 190mm, height: 190mm (obviously not including stud 4).

    CLAIMS.

   1. - Prefabricated hollow building block in concrete or other agglomerated and molded material, characterized in that the cavity provided in each block is extended by an axial vertical channel opening onto a horizontal face of contact of the block with the neighboring block, said channel being intended to receive a stud or equivalent projection, projecting on the corresponding face of the latter, with a view to assembling the blocks one on the other.

Claims (1)

2. - Building block according to claim 1, characterized in that the contact face provided with the assembly stud has a groove or notch intended to form a mortar joint between the superposed blocks. 3. 3. - Building block according to claim 1, characterized in that a groove or notch is provided on the vertical contact faces of the blocks with a view to also constituting a mortar joint. in appendix: 1 drawing.
