On sait que les installations de fortune pour repas en plein air sont généralement inconfortables. On a tenté d'y remédier en réalisant des mallettes transformables en tables autour desquelles se disposent des chaises pliantes. Cette solu- tion ne donne pas, en général, satisfaction car une telle table est le plus souvent de très petites dimensions et, de plus, ses

quatre pieds trouvent difficilement appui sur le sol simultané- ment. Les installations dans lesquelles les convives ne dispo- sent que de sièges sans table sont plus inconfortables encore.
Afin de remédier à cet inconvénient, la présen- te invention a pour objet un meuble destiné à permettre à une personne de lire, de mander ou d'écrire dans des conditions con- fortables.
Le meuble selon l'invention est un siège pourvu d'une tablette disposée devant l'occupant dudit siège, tablette soutenue par au moins un montant solidaire de ce siège.
Dans une forme de réalisation de l'invention, le siège affecte la forme usuelle d'une chaise dont les mon- tants du dossier supportent une tablette horizontale. Une telle disposition présente toutefois l'inconvénient d'obliger l'occu- pant du siège, pour utiliser la tablette, à s'asseoir jambes écartées, ce qui est, à la longue, inconfortable.
On peut aussi plus commodément, dans cette for- me de réalisation de l'invention, réaliser la tablette sous for- me amovible, ce qui permet à l'occupant de s'asseoir entre les montants de support de la tablette, puis, après avoir pris place sur le siège, de mettre en place la tablette. L'aide d'un tiers sera, en général, nécessaire pour la remise en place de la ta- blette, ce qui n'est pas toutefois un inconvénient majeur, en particulier\pour les personnes âgées qui, de toute façon, ont besoin d'aide pour leur installation .
Dans cette forme de réalisation toutefois, l'occupant est en quelque sorte prisonnier de son siège. Pour y remédier, on peut envisager de supporter la tablette par un uni- que montant disposé latéralement, l'occupant du siège prenant place à c6té de ce montant. Toutefois, ceci offre l'inconvénient

de développer dans la tablette et le montant de grands efforts de flexion nécessitant une construction robuste et par consé- quent assez lourde.
Il est plus avantageux de supporter la tablette par un montant unique disposé sous cette tablette, près du centre de celle-ci, . ce qui présente de nombreux avantages au point de vue de la résistance et de la commodité d'installation de cette tablette, mais contraint l'utilisateur à accepter de disposer ses jambes de part et d'autre du montant. Cet inconvé- nient est minime car les vêtements utilisés généralement dans les conditions d'installation d'un tel matériel laissent toute liberté à ceux qui les portent d'enfourcher le siège pour s'y ins talle r.
Dans la forme de réalisation préférentielle, l'ensemble est supporté par un trépied afin d'être stable quel que soit le sol sur lequel il est disposé.
Le montant supportant la tablette peut âtre le prolongement d'un des pieds du siège et il peut être vertical ou oblique.
Il est avantageux de réaliser la liaison du ou des montants avec la tablette de telle sorte que cette tablette puisse âtre démontée de sa position horizontale pour être amenée à peu près verticalement contre ce ou ces montants afin de cons- tituer un dossier. Dans ce cas, l'utilisateur prend place sur le siège en sens inverse de la position adoptée pour l'utilisation de la tablette.
La description qui va suivre en regard du dessin annexé, donné à titre d'exemple non limitatif, fera bien compren- dre comment l'invention peut être réalisée, les particularités qui ressortent tant du dessin que du texte faisant, bien entendu, partie de ladite invention.

Les fig.l et 2 sont respectivement la vue en élévation latérale et la vue en plan d'une première forme de réalisation de l'invention, la tablette, sur la fig.l, étant sapposée coupée suivant la ligne I-I de la fig.2.
La fig.3 est une vue partielle analogue à la fig.1, dans le cas où la tablette est utilisée comme dossier.
Les fig.4 et 5 montrent respectivement en élé- vation et en plan une autre forme de réalisation de l'invention.

Le meuble montré sur les fig.l et 2 comprend trois pieds verticaux 1, 2 et 3 ; pied 1 est emboîté dans un manchon assez long 4 sur lequel sont fixés latéralement, par exemple par soudure, deux manchons plus courts 5 et 6. Dans les manchons 5 et 6, pénètre l'une des extrémités recourbées de tu- bes 7 et 8 dont les autres extrémités, également recourbées, comportent des manchons 9 et 10 pour la mise en place des pieds 2 et 3. Sur les tubes 7 et 8 formant un V horizontal, repose le siège 11 constitué par une plaque, éventuellement galbée, qui comporte, à sa face inférieure, des/ pinces élastiques 12 venant coiffer les tubes 7 et 8 pour maintenir ceux-ci à l'écartement convenable.
Pour permettre le facile déplacement du siège, les emboîtements dans les manchons peuvent être verrouillés de ma- nière quelcon que.
Dans la partie supérieure du manchon 4, est introduite l'extrémité d'un montant 13 supportant la tablette.
Cette tablette 14 comporte, à cette fin, fixé à sa partie infé- rieure, un manchon 15 qui, de préférence, comporte deux cavités

égales 15a et 15b, disposées à angle droit, permettant, comme il sera montré dans la suite, la double utilisation de la tablette.
Si cette tablette est destinée exclusivement aux repas, on peut l'alléger et, en même temps, accroître la stabilité .des objets qu'elle est destinée à supporter, en y prévoyant des ouvertures, telles que 16, pour la mise en place d'un gobelet et d'une assiette.
Afin d'accroître la rigidité de cette tablette, il est avantageux de la munir d'un rebord 14a.
Pour prendre son repas, l'utilisateur de ce meu- ble enfourche le siège 11 et le montant 13 vient se placer entre ses jambes,
Comme le montre la fig.3. la tablette 14 peut également être fixée au montant 13 par emboftement de celui-ci dans la partie 15b du manchon. Dans ce cas, le bord de la tablette peut comporter de petites encoches, telles que 17, qui viennent reposer sur les parties supérieures des tubes 7 et 8 en vue d'accroître la stabilité du dossier ainsi constitué. Pour empêcher la tablette de tourner dans ses deux positions, il est avantageux de donner au montant 13 une section polygonale et de prévoir les logements de ce montant, tant dans le manchon 15 que dans le manchon 4, à la forme correspondante.
Dans la forme de réalisation montrée par les fig.4 et 5, la tablette 18 est soutenue par un trépied constitué par un fort montant 19, tubulaire de préférence, et par deux pieds auxi- liaires 20 et 21. Ces pieds 20 et 21 peuvent également être dispo- sés en 20a et 21a, c'est-à-dire qu'ils peuvent partir du sommet du montant 19 pour aller jusqu'au sol. Le siège 22 prend appui sur le montant 19 auquel il peut être fixé de manière quelconque. Par exemple, comme le montrent les fig.4 et 5, la partie arrière de ce

siège peut reposer sur un T formé par un montant 23 et une tra- verse horizontale 24. La traverse 24 peut être reliée au tube 19 d'une manière rigide quelconque, par exemple à l'aide d'une tra- verse auxiliaire 25.
Si le siège 22 est rigide, on peut se dis- penser d'une telle traverse.
Dans cette forme de réalisation, on n'a pas dé- taillé les assemblages des différentes parties entre elles. De préférence, les différents pieds ou montants sont des tubes d'acier de petit diamètre, et le tube 19 est prévu d'un diamètre suffisam- ment grand pour les loger pour le transport.
Dans la forme de réalisation montrée par les fig.6 et 7, le siège est constitué par un tabouret à trois pieds. Les pieds 26 sont articulés, de manière connue, vers leur milieù, autour d'une pièce d'assemblage 27 en forme de triangle et leur partie supérieure peut s'emboîter dans la couronne 28 du siège proprement dit. La surface de repos de ce siège peut être constituée par une paroi relativement souple 29 (par exemple de la toile, de la tôle perforée, du contreplaqué-, etc... ), fixée à ladite couronne. Sur le bord de la couronne 28, est prévue une oreille 28a pour l'en- castrement du montant 30 supportant la tablette 31. De préférence, le montant 30 est séparable tant de la tablette que de l'oreille.
Dans la forme de réalisation montrée par la fig.8, le trépied comporte deux montants longs verticaux 32 et un montant court 33. Le siège 36 repose sur les traverses 34 qui réanissent le sommet du montant 33 à un point intermédiaire de chacun des mon- tants 32. La tablette amovible 36 se fixe sur le sommet des mon- tants 34. La construction de ce siège est analogue et se déduit sans difficulté de celle du siège montré par les fig.l et 2.
Pour l'utilisation de la tablette, celle-ci étant démontée, l'occupant du siège s'asseoit entre les montants 32, puis la tablette est remise en place. Dans ce cas, la tablette 36, disposée verticalement comme dossier, est soutenue par ses deux bords latéraux, ce qui permet d'obtenir un siège très s.table.

Il va de soi que des modifications peuvent être apportées au siège qui vient d'être décrit, notamment par substi- tution de moyens techniques équivalents, sans sortir pour cela du cadre de la présente invention.

The piece of furniture according to the invention is a seat provided with a shelf arranged in front of the occupant of said seat, the shelf supported by at least one upright integral with this seat.
In one embodiment of the invention, the seat takes the usual shape of a chair, the back pillars of which support a horizontal tablet. However, such an arrangement has the drawback of forcing the occupant of the seat, in order to use the tablet, to sit with his legs apart, which is, in the long run, uncomfortable.
