ARME A FEU AUTOMATIQUE.

REVENDICATIONS.

AUTOMATIC FIREARM.
The present invention relates to an automatic firearm and especially to a small caliber weapon for shoulder shooting, such as in particular a rifle.
The invention consists in providing in an automatic weapon an uncomplicated firing device which functions perfectly and which, according to a particular feature, comprises a movable firing pin in the bolt and whose rear end comes from the recoil of the latter. here, hang on to the pivoting trigger thanks to a rocker actuated by the trigger.
In one embodiment, the striker is formed by a rod guided forward through a hole in the latch and back through a hole in the nut. A stop on the rod allows Inaction of the lock during retraction. At the rear, this rod carries a notch in which one end of the trigger is pushed back under the effect of an annular spring housed in a groove of the nut. The trigger is in the form of a lever pivoting around a central axis; one end of this lever is subjected to the action of the rocker which abuts on a stopper.
Another constructive feature resides in that, in front of the trigger, there is a housing for the charger formed by two lateral sheet metal flanges folded in front and closed at the rear by a part carrying a means of fixing the charger. This means is formed by an arm terminated by a pin lodged in a hole in the charger and normally subjected to a spring. This arm can be operated manually because it is accessible in front of the guard.
The present invention will be more readily understood by reference to the following description of the accompanying drawings which show, by way of example only, one mode of application of the invention.
In these drawings
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
FIG. 1 is a partial schematic view, in lateral longitudinal section through a weapon provided with a device according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a schematic, partial view, similar to Figure 1, but from the other side.
FIG. 3 is a schematic view, in partial section, taken along III-III of FIG. 2.
In the drawings are shown only those parts necessary for an understanding of the invention.
On the butt 2 is mounted the barrel 2a, the rear of which is shaped to give the breech box 2b closed by the plug; 3 in front of which is housed the nut 4. The plug 3 is located in the recess 2c of the butt 2. The breech box 2b is closed by the latch 5 provided with the manual actuation lever 6. The latch 5 subjected to the spring 8 is pierced with a hole 5a ending in the cavity 5b. In this hole 5a and in the cavity 5b is housed the front part of the rod 7 forming the striker and provided with a stop 7a against which pushes the spring 7b, the rear part of which rests on the nut 4. The hole 4a serves as a guide at the rear end of said rod 7 which also passes through plug 3.
In the rear part of the rod 7 is formed a notch 9 into which can penetrate one end of the trigger 10 which is permanently subjected to the annular spring 11 housed in a groove 12 hollowed out in the nut 4. The front end of the trigger 10, which can pivot around the axis 10a, rests on a lug 13a of the lever 13 rotating around the pivot 13b under the action of the trigger 14 subjected to the spring 15 and pivoting around 14b. A spring 16 maintains the lever 13 in the cocking position shown in FIG. 1, that is to say that the projection 13c comes, in the cocking position, to rest on the stop 17 which is formed by the end of part 28 forming part of the cylinder head box (Figure 2).
In figure 1, the elements of the firing device are represented in the "armed" position, ready to fire, that is to say that if, at this moment, the safety is not put on, a pressure on the trigger 14 rotates the latter according to the arrow X; the rocker pushes, following the arrow Y on the trigger 10 which releases the firing pin 7. The latter is pushed back by the spring 7b and its front end strikes the cartridge causing the shot to start.
The gas pressure then causes the lock 5 to retreat, which drives the striker 7 in a retreat movement. The cartridge is hooked in by the extractor 26, expelled by the elector 25. A cartridge, for example 22a brought from the magazine 22, is pushed into the barrel by the latch 5 which reaches the end of its travel, in the position shown. in Figure 2, which is pushed under the effect of its spring 8 towards the front of the weapon, thus closing the breech. The rear end of the firing pin, during recoil, passes through the nut 4 and slides on the trigger 10 which immediately comes to be housed in the notch 9 under the pressure of the spring 11.
The weapon is thus again in the "armed" position, ready to fire the next shot. The movements which have just been described are repeated automatically until the charger is exhausted.
In Figure 2, there is also shown the safety 18 can be pushed on the chin 14a of the trigger 14 which thus can no longer pivot.
According to a constructive characteristic, the guard 19 is fixed to two side flanges, only one of which appears at 20, that is to say that these flanges are formed by a bent sheet fixed by screws at 20a to the part 28 ; inside the space they form is housed a part 21 (Figures 2 and 3) defining rearwardly the housing

for the magazine shown schematically at 22. On part 21 is fixed a lever 23 pivoting around 23a and terminated at one end by a pin 23b penetrating under the effect of the spring 23c into a corresponding hole in the magazine 22.
The ejector 25 is fixed at the end of the part 21. One end 23d of the lever 23 is accessible in front of the guard; this frees the charger. A conveyor ramp 24, an ejector 25 and an extractor 26 complete the device.
