'CONTACTEUR -- DEMARREUR ETOILE TRIANGLE AUTOMATIQUE A BAIN D'HUILE.
Figure 2 : vue en élévation du flasque gauche.
Figure 3 : vue en élévation du flasque droit.
Figure 4 :détail du ressort de torsion.
Figure 6 schéma électrique de l'appareil.

'' SWITCH - AUTOMATIC TRIANGLE STAR STARTER WITH OIL BATH.
The subject of the present invention patent application is an automatic star-delta starter-contactor in an oil bath, the main characteristic of which is to have only one contactor, the latter transmitting a movement. rotation to a drum of insulating material, carrying metal sectors in contact with fixed studs.
The following drawings illustrate the description: Figure 1: Sectional elevation, with the left flange, left flange, breaker system and timer assumed to be removed.
Figure 2: elevational view of the left flange.
Figure 3: elevational view of the right flange.
Figure 4: detail of the torsion spring.
Figure 5: detail of the sudden rupture ratchet.
Figure 6 Electrical diagram of the device.
The device is externally in the form of a die-cast or pressure-injected aluminum casing, provided at its upper part with a cover and receiving at its lower part a tray made of embossed aluminum sheet, intended to contain oil. The particular shape of this tank reduces the quantity of oil required. The rear part of the box carries the fixing lugs as well as holes intended to receive cable glands or earth pockets.
The apparatus itself consists of a bakelite plate (Figure 1) on which are fixed two aluminum sheet flanges 1 spaced by square steel pins, covered with a tube of insulating material.
The RST, UVW, and XYZ connections of the various contacts as well as the magnetic core 2 of the contactor attraction coil are clamped on these isolated axes. The armature 4 of the coil is integral with a bakelite part carrying the three movable segments 6 with their springs as well as two ti-

ges-push-buttons 7 sliding in the guides 8 and causing the isolated levers 2 to swing when the contactor is closed. These levers, pinned to the control pin 10, pivot from left to right the levers 11 which, via the adjustable rods 12, transmit their movement to the free parts on the pin 14 of the switching drum 15.
The parts 13 of the right flange (Figure 4) carry a pivot on which is hooked the torsion spring 16 fixed on the other hand to the axis 14 of the drum. This spring is therefore tensioned during the engagement of the contactor following the pivoting from left to right. Of the parts 13, The parts of the left flange (Figure 5) also pivot from left to right and during 30 drive the ratchet 17 integral with the axis 14 until it comes into contact with the half-round 17 '.
The drum has therefore rotated by 30. And its metal sectors have short-circuited the pads of the X, Y and Z connections. Furthermore, the contactor has made the RU, SV and TW connections (star coupling).
The levers 18 (Figures 2 and 3) performed the same movement as the levers 11. The pistons 19 compress a pressure spring in the articulated cylinders 20. The lever 18 of the left flange (Figure 2) has pivoted from the left on the right, the part 22 free on the end of the axis 14 and carrying the adjustable cam 23. The latter has released the roller 24, allowing the timer 25 to start under the action of the spring 26. The rod 27 descends slowly until acting on the end of lever 28, integral with half-round 17 '.
This pivots and releases the ratchet 17, which allows the switching drum, biased by the spring 16 (Figure 5), to suddenly pivot 60 to the right. The metal sectors of the drum now establish the RZ, SX and TY connections. The "triangle" coupling is therefore carried out.
A safety device consisting of a closed contact, inserted in the circuit of the closing pushbutton and opening when changing from the position (star) to the position (delta) - prevents direct engagement in position. triangle if the ratchet 11 does not catch on the mid-round 17 '.
When tripping, either manually triggered or under the action of the relays, the reverse operations take place.
The magnetic core 2 releases its armature 4. The movable segments 6 abruptly leave the fixed contacts and the push rods 2 return to their initial position under the action of the levers 2 and 18 themselves controlled by the relaxation of the springs contained in them. cylinders 20. The levers 11 returning back drive the parts 13. The pivot 30 (Figure 5) drives the ratchet 17 back to the vertical position. At this time, no metallic sector of the drum 14 is no longer in contact with the pads 31.
Part 22 carrying cam 23 went back and reset timer 25.
The lever 18 of the right flange (Figure 3) controls a position indicator 32 marked 0-Y while the rod 35 actuated by the axis 14 of the drum controls a / indicator 34 marked #. These indicators are placed at the appropriate time behind a glass indicator provided in the front of the case.
The device can be fitted with thermal relays 36 as shown in figure 1 or with thermo-magnetic relays. In both cases, the relays are automatically reset using the elbow lever 37.
