ROBINET A BIERE; PERFECTIONNE.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

BEER TAP; PERFECTED.
All beer taps for the flow of beer presently used in drinking establishments are of the carrot type. Besides the drawbacks inherent in carrot taps rapid wear of the core, leakage, resulting in loss of beer, beer taps of this type have the great disadvantage that the beer under pressure hits the inner vertical wall of the core. , which causes eddies in the flow of beer which results in an excessive production of foam and cloudiness of the beer.
The present invention relates to a valve of a new type which does not exhibit any of the faults and drawbacks mentioned above.
The tightness of this new tap is perfect and durable, its internal profile is designed so as to guide the beer towards the outlet without abrupt change of section or direction and its closure device releases., In its open position any the passage section of the tap and brings no obstacle to the direct flow of beer. On the other hand, the body of this tap has, upstream of the shutter and in the immediate vicinity of the latter, a converging and diverging section which regulates the flow of the beer and which makes it possible to deliver this. the latter under a pressure lower than that necessary with a running tap, this results in a saving in the consumption of carbonic acid generally used for pressurizing barrels and barrels of beer.
In principle, the valve according to the invention is provided with a flat, hemispherical or spherical stopper which, under the action of a simple mechanism, retracts into an extension of the valve body to completely free the section of the valve. tap outlet channel; the opening and closing maneuvers being carried out either by a quarter rotation of the device carrying the shutter or by lowering the lever operating said device at an angle of approximately 45.
Some embodiments, given by way of non-limiting example, are shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of a valve according to the invention; Figure la is a detail of view 1; FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section of an alternative embodiment of the valve; FIG. 3 shows in section a second variant embodiment.
The tap shown in Figure 1 is made of a non-ferrous metal, preferably nickel silver for the parts in contact with the beer.
It comprises a body consisting of two hollow parts 1 and 2 assembled by a thread in 3, their internal profile and their assembly are made so as to ensure the fixing by clamping, between the seals 4 and 5, of the convergent- divergent 6, the upper part of which forms the seat of the shutter 7. A locking screw 8 prevents any untimely loosening of parts 1 and 2.
The shutter 7, generally cylindrical in shape and the outer diameter of which is slightly smaller than the bore of part 2 so as to allow its longitudinal displacement in said bore, carries on its front face a seal 7 'in one plastic material unassailable by the beer and fixed by means of the screw 9 with hemispherical head. The dimensions and the profile of the head of this screw are established in such a way as not to create any pressure drop and no obstacle to the flow of the beer when the tap is open.
The shutter 8 is secured by means of a thread 10 of the control rod 11 also housed in the bore of the part 2. A tightening screw 12 opposes the loosening of the thread 10. Between the rear part of the shutter 7 and the plate 12 integral with the rod 11 is placed in the usual way, a sealing gasket 13 consisting of an elastic cup, of plastic material also unassailable by beer, opposing the passage beer into the bore of part 2 when the tap is open. The opposite face of the plate 12 serves as a support for the cylindrical spring 14 slid on the rod 11 and resting at its opposite end against an internal edge 15 of the part 2. This edge can optionally be replaced by a free ring ( see fig. 3).
On the free end of the part 2 of the valve body is slid the cap 16 which is crossed by the lever 17, the latter being fixed to said cap by a thread 18. This lever passes through two slots 19 with a diametrically sinusoidal profile. opposite and cut near the end of part 2, in the wall of the latter (see - dashed line in figure 1 and details in figure la) as well as through rod 11 (in one direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the latter).
A quarter of a turn, printed on the lever 17, either to the right or to the left, depending on the orientation of the slots 19, causes the rod 11 to retreat with compression of the spring 14 and the release of the shutter 7 - 7 'from its seat; this maneuver allows the free passage of the beer through the convergent-divergent 6 and its flow through the nozzle 20 provided on the underside of the part 2 of the valve body. The value of the shutter stroke 7 - 7 'is only a function of the sinusoidal path of the lights 19.
An exhaust opening 21 is drilled in the wall of the part 2 to allow the discharge of the compressed air in the bore of the said part by the displacement of the shutter 7 - 7 ',
In the closed position of the valve, the spring 14 maintains and presses the shutter 7 - 7 'on its seat and in this way ensures the perfect tightness of this device.
The device for closing the valve, represented by FIG. 2, is identical to that of FIG. 1, except in that it is actuated by a tilting parallel to the axis of the valve, of the operating lever 17 '(of position X to position Y and vice versa) attacking an eccentric device which acts on the shutter rod.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In principle, the execution of the valve shown in Figure 3 is identical to that of Figure 1 except, however, that the shutter control mechanism is housed in a portion of the valve body arranged at right angles. with the other part of the latter and that the flat shutter is replaced by a ball 27 made of stainless metal or synthetic rubber bearing on a seat provided at the upper part of the outlet pipe of the valve.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiments shown and that modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of some of the elements involved in its realization, as long as said. modifications are not contradicted by the foregoing description and the claims which follow.
