INSTALLATION POUR LE DECHARGEMENT DE BERLINES- A FOND OUVRANT ET
BERLINES UTILISABLES DANS CETTE INSTALLATION,
<EMI ID=1.1>

<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=7.1>
<EMI ID=8.1>

INSTALLATION FOR THE UNLOADING OF BERLINES - OPENING BOTTOM AND
BERLINES THAT CAN BE USED IN THIS INSTALLATION,
<EMI ID = 1.1>
The invention relates to the unloading of various materials, for example ore, by means of hatchback sedans.
The many advantages of fully automatic hatchback sedans are well known and one of these in particular is a very great saving in time and labor for unloading, this saving translates into a reduction in the number of sedans required for a given transport, and consequently a reduction in downtime.
However, the automatic draining of hatchbacks can only be ensured by means of doors having a width less than the gauge of the rails.
This drawback is of little importance even on narrow tracks as long as the material to be unloaded is in blocks of reduced dimensions.
When the blocks to be unloaded are of large dimensions, this
<EMI ID = 2.1>
mechanical loading is used the large blocks cannot pass through the rear opening doors of the sedan and remain stuck in the latter.
The subject of the invention is an installation allowing the use of particular sedans whose opening bottom doors are sufficiently wide to allow the evacuation of large blocks even when the sedans.

of the unloading hopper, and replaced at this place by a wider track supporting the sedans, this wider track being constituted for example by a railway track on which rollers carried by the sedans, or by two rows of pebbles on which are carried portions of sedans.
The railway track can also include deviations making it possible to perform the maneuvers of the sedans while avoiding the passage of locomotives above the unloading hopper.
Finally, towing cables can be provided to move sedans above the unloading hopper.
<EMI ID = 4.1>
usable in 1 * installation which has just been described comprising support members on the longitudinal sides of the sedan, these members being intended to be supported by a track of a width greater than that of the railway track on which runs the sedan.
The support members can be constituted, for example, by rollers rolling on a railway track or by portions of a hatchback moving on two rows of rollers provided at the place of unloading.
Finally, the opening hatches of the opening bottom can have a width greater than or equal to the wheel spacing of the sedan.
The invention will now be described with reference to particular embodiments given by way of example and shown in the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is a partial schematic plan view of an installation according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of a sedan according to the invention above an unloading hopper.
Fig. 3 is a schematic cross section of the sedan shown in FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 is a schematic longitudinal section of an alternative embodiment of a berline following the invention.
The installation shown in fig. 1 has a closed track
<EMI ID = 5.1>
unloading 5.
Sedans can be pulled by a locomotive which, not including special devices which will be described later for sedans, cannot pass through the unloading hopper. The locomotive can take a deviation 2 which joins the railway line 1 after the hopper 5, the sedans are then pulled above the hopper 5 by means of a cable for example, actuated by the locomotive. One can also consider other systems allowing the arrival of the sedans above the hopper 5. For example the railway line 1 may be on a slope, the sedans descending alone on
the hopper 5 or the sedans can be pushed by a locomotive which takes an auxiliary track 3 connected to the main track 1 by a turning point to pass from front to rear in the convoy of sedans.
According to the invention, the railway line 1 is interrupted above
<EMI ID = 6.1>
Wider track can be constituted simply by two rows of rollers 9 which receive the edges 10 of the sedan 6. Above the unloading hopper 5 the wheels 7 leave the main track 1 and the sedan is fully supported by its sides.
The wheels 7 can be provided simply at the front and rear ends of the sedan so as to completely free the entire central part. The doors 8 of the opening bottom of the sedan can be, as shown in fig. 3 schematically, wider than the spacing
wheels 7.
It can thus be seen that the improvements which are the subject of the invention make it possible to use the entire width of the sedan for the evacuation of the materials which it contains even if this width is much greater than the spacing of the railway on which rolls the sedan.
<EMI ID = 7.1>
those shown schematically in FIGS. 2 and 3 may have a larger capacity than those previously used.
Of course, the invention is shown schematically in the drawings. For example the axes of the rollers 9 and of the wheels 7 are not indicated as being mounted in suitable bearings. It is
<EMI ID = 8.1>
to facilitate reading of the drawing and understanding of the invention.
The rows 4 of rollers 9 can be replaced by rails
12 supporting rollers 11 mounted on the sedan 6. This embodiment constitutes a solution of the problem, the reverse of that which has been described with reference to figures, 2 and 3.
Of course, moreover, the invention is not limited to these special embodiments which may undergo modifications without departing from the scope of the invention.
