Known regulators of this type, the expansion chamber is constituted by a large bore in the body of the regulator at the bottom of which is made the inlet orifice around which the valve seat is machined, the stem of which, generally arranged according to the axis of said chamber is in contact with the membrane closing this chamber and held in place by springs and by a threaded cap. It follows that the replacement of the only part subject to wear and fouling, that is to say of the valve proper, requires the complete dismantling of the apparatus.
The purpose of the regulator which is the subject of the present invention is to remedy this drawback and it is characterized by the fact that the seat of the valve is machined in a removable part screwing into a bore made in the body of the regulator and serving to supply gas under pressure and that the valve stem, sliding with a certain clearance in said bore, has no connection with the other members of the pressure reducer.
As an example, an embodiment of the regulator forming the subject of the invention has been described below and shown in sectional elevation in the accompanying drawing.
The body 1 of the apparatus comprises an expansion chamber 2, the upper wall of which is constituted by an elastic membrane 3 of relatively large surface, held in a sealed manner by a cover 4 and loaded at its center by a coil spring 5. maintained by a threaded plug 6 making it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the membrane by varying the tension of the spring 5. The chamber 2 communicates freely with the outlet pipe 7 connected to the supply pipes of the apparatus; it 'communicates with piping 6.' supply of pressurized gas through the bore 8 formed in the cylindrical extension 9 of the body 1 provided at its end with a nut connector 10.
In the bore 8 is screwed from the outside a threaded part 11 provided along its center

a channel 12 and on which is machined the seat 13 against which the valve is applied, comprising a piece of ebonite 14 fixed on a rod 15 sliding with a certain clearance in the bore 8.
An angled lever 15, pivots at 17 on the body of the device at the end of its arm 18 engaged in a bracket 19 integral with the membrane 3 and actuates the stem 15 of the valve through the spout 20. under the effect of the pressure of the gas entering through the axial channel 12 of the part 11, the valve is pushed to the right and the gas enters, through the annular space existing between the rod 15 and the bore 8, in bedroom 2 where it relaxes. if the gas pressure is too high in chamber 2, the diaphragm 3 is pushed upwards and, by tilting the angled lever 16-18, it pushes to the left the rod 15 of the valve 14 which closes again .
To change the ebonite gasket 14, it suffices to unscrew the part 11 carrying the seat 13, then to take out through the bore 8 the rod 15 with the gasket 14, without needing to touch the components for this. fixing and adjusting the membrane 2. It can therefore be seen that the device of the invention allows easy overhaul and maintenance of the regulator, the production of which only comprises members of simple and robust form.
