Perfectionnements aux reliures à feuillets mobiles.
Cette invention se rapporte, aux reliures pour feuillets de papier mobiles, fiches, etc., du genre employé pour la compta- bilité, les statistiques ou à d'autres fins analogues. Le but de l'invention est de procurer une reliure simple et compacte, d'un emploi commode et facile à transporter.
L'invention comprend en combinaison un châssis externe et un compartiment récepteur de feuillets ouvert, à face articulées, susceptible de pivoter par rapport au châssis.

Les dessins montrent un châssis extérieur en métal, carton fort ou autre matériau approprié, garni de préférence de tissu.
Le châssis comporte un fond rectangulaire 1, de longueur et largeur appropriées, et une paire d'éléments latéraux parallè- les 2, dressés vers le haut sur le fond, une pièce 3 solidaire de chacun des éléments latéraux ou fixé rigidement à ceux-ci (ci-après appelée arrêt), s'étendent vers l'intérieur à partir d'un des bords de l'élément. Les arrêts sont placés comme c'est représenté dans des positions diagonalement opposées, et vont en s'élargissant vers le fond 1.
Le compartiment destiné à recevoir les feuillets est de préférence exécuté en carton fort ou autre matière appropriée et il est établi de manière à pouvoir être logé dans le châssis.
Le compartiment comporte un fond rectangulaire 4, et deux parois latérales 5, articulées en 6 aux bords longitudinaux du fond.
Les parois peuvent être faites d'une pièce avec le fond, et dans ce cas la matière peut être amincie le long des lignes où l'arti- culation doit se faire ; bien elles peuvent consister en des pièces séparées, reliées au fond par du tissu ou une autre cou- verture flexible.
Le fond du compartiment à feuillets et celui du châssis sont reliées entre eux par un pivot vertical central 7 permettant de faire pivoter le compartiment de 90 pour le faire aller et venir, d'une position où le compartiment se trouve à l'intérieur du châssis (comme c'est représenté en traits pleins sur les dessins) à une position où il est perpendiculaire à ce châssis (comme c'est représenté en traits de chaînettes sur la fig.3).
Pour éviter que le pivot 7 ne soit soumis à des efforts exces- sifs lorsqu'on fait pivoter le compartiment par l'amener dans une position transversale, une paire de supports auxiliaires, tels que de petits galets ou boutons 8 sont fixés à la face in- férieure du fond 4 du compartiment de part et d'autre de l'axe du pivot, de manière à pouvoir reposer sur la surface de la

table sur laquelle le fond 1 du châssis est posé, et des évide- ments 9 sont ménagés dans les bords opposés du fond 1 du châssis pour recevoir les galets ou boutons lorsqu'on fait pivoter le compartiment pour l'amener dans l'autre position. Les évidements 9 peuvent traverser le fond complètement ou seulement sur une partie, de son épaisseur.
La liasse de feuillets 10 (qui peut comprendre des feuil- lets intercalaires à index) se trouve entre les parois 5, le bord inférieur étant supporté par le fond 4 du compartiment.
Lorsqu'on fait pivoter celui-ci de manière à l'amener dans sa position transversale ou d'ouverture, les parois peuvent s'in- cliner librement vers l'extérieur pour se placer dans des posi- tions inclinées en contact avec les bords inclinés des arrêts 3 du châssis, de manière qu'on puisse avoir accès facilement aux feuillets mobiles pour les consulter ou les enlever. Lorsqu'on fait pivoter le compartiment pour l'amener dans son autre posi- tion ou position fermée, il vient se loger à l'intérieur du châssis de façon que les surfaces externes des parois ou pan- neaux 5 se trouvent en contact avec les faces internes des ar- rêts 3.
Pour enfermer le compartiment à feuillets ou pour l'empê- cher de se déplacer par rapport au châssis lorsque la reliure n'est pas en service, on peut employer un emboîtage rectangulai- re 11 (fig.4) dont on peut coiffer le châssis et qui présente de préférence, mais pas nécessairement, une profondeur suffisante pour le couvrir complètement, ou bien on peut utiliser un cou- vercle de préférence peu profond qui est articulé à l'extrémité supérieure des éléments latéraux du châssis et est susceptible de se placer transversalement et d'entrer en prise avec l'autre élément latéral,ainsi qu'avec l'extrémité supérieure du compar- timent. Si on le désire, tout dispositif de verrouillage conve- nable peut être employé pour fixer l'emboîtage ou le couvercle en place.

présenté sur la fig.4,, d'un emboîtage amovible 11, une serrure 12 peut être fixée à la face externe de l'un des arrêts 3 et une patte 13 peut être fixée à la face adjacente de l'emboîtage, une partie 14 de ce dernier étant découpée pour découvrir la ser- rure et permettre d'y engager la patte 13.
L'invention permet d'obtenir une reliure compacte sous une forme simple, commode et peu coûteuse.
REVENDICATIONS
1) Reliure pour feuillets de papier mobiles, fiches, etc. caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte en combinaison un châssis externe et un compartiment récepteur de feuillets ouvert, pourvu de côtés articulés et susceptible de pivoter par rapport au châssis.

Improvements to loose-leaf binders.
This invention relates to binders for loose sheets of paper, index cards, etc., of the kind used for accounting, statistics, or the like. The object of the invention is to provide a simple and compact binding, easy to use and easy to transport.
The invention comprises in combination an outer frame and an open sheet receiving compartment, with hinged face, capable of pivoting relative to the frame.

The drawings show an outer frame of metal, strong cardboard or other suitable material, preferably lined with fabric.
The frame comprises a rectangular bottom 1, of suitable length and width, and a pair of parallel side elements 2, facing upwards on the bottom, a part 3 integral with each of the side elements or rigidly fixed to them. (hereafter called stop), extend inward from one of the edges of the element. The stops are placed as shown in diagonally opposite positions, and widen towards the bottom 1.
The compartment for receiving the leaflets is preferably made of strong cardboard or other suitable material and is made so that it can be accommodated in the frame.
The compartment has a rectangular bottom 4, and two side walls 5, articulated at 6 to the longitudinal edges of the bottom.
The walls can be made in one piece with the bottom, and in this case the material can be thinned along the lines where the articulation is to be made; however, they may consist of separate pieces, connected at the bottom by fabric or other flexible covering.
The bottom of the leaflet compartment and that of the frame are connected to each other by a central vertical pivot 7 allowing the compartment to be rotated by 90 to make it come and go, from a position where the compartment is inside the frame (as shown in solid lines in the drawings) to a position where it is perpendicular to this frame (as shown in chain lines in fig.3).
To prevent the pivot 7 from being subjected to excessive forces when the compartment is pivoted by bringing it into a transverse position, a pair of auxiliary supports, such as small rollers or buttons 8 are fixed to the face. bottom of the bottom 4 of the compartment on either side of the pivot axis, so as to be able to rest on the surface of the

To enclose the leaflet compartment or to prevent it from moving relative to the frame when the binding is not in use, a rectangular box 11 (fig. 4) can be used, with which the frame can be capped. and which is preferably, but not necessarily, of sufficient depth to cover it completely, or a preferably shallow cover may be used which is hinged to the upper end of the side members of the frame and is capable of fitting. transversely and engage with the other side member, as well as with the upper end of the compartment. If desired, any suitable locking device can be employed to secure the housing or cover in place.

shown in fig. 4 ,, of a removable casing 11, a lock 12 can be fixed to the external face of one of the stops 3 and a tab 13 can be fixed to the adjacent face of the casing, a part 14 of the latter being cut out to uncover the lock and allow the tab 13 to be engaged therein.
The invention provides a compact binding in a simple, convenient and inexpensive form.

1) Binding for loose sheets of paper, index cards, etc. characterized in that it comprises in combination an external frame and an open sheet receiving compartment, provided with articulated sides and capable of pivoting with respect to the frame.
