<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

"Mine prop
The present invention relates to an iron mine prop in which the internal prop is placed under the action of a wedge that can move by translation for example in a fixed lock pocket and drives this wedge over part of its downhill stroke inside the lower stanchion. By driving this sliding wedge, there must be a rapid increase in the resistance of the prop to deflection as the inner prop sinks into the lower prop under the action. pressure from the field.
As soon as the prop has reached its maximum application pressure in the lock, the further drive of the wedge must instead cease and the inner prop must go alone inside 1 / lower prop.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In mine props of this type known heretofore, the driving of the wedge with sliding motion by the sinking stanchion takes place by the fact that the friction between the prop. inside and the wedge increased relative to the frictional resistance that the back of the wedge encountered in the lock pocket. Attempts were made to obtain this result in particular by providing the wedges with added wedges which had a high coefficient of friction.
On the other hand, attempts have been made to ensure the drive of the wedge by the internal strut by making use, on the back of the wedge, of a grease or a rolling device. But all of these known embodiments have the drawback that one still could not get real certainty about the drive of the wedge by the inner strut, and often the inner strut is was already sinking into 1 lower strut without the wedge before the tightening application was achieved under high force as required.
The invention relates to a two-part iron mine prop, in which the inner prop drives a wedge with sliding motion on part of its driving stroke in the lower prop, and it essentially consists of: that the wedge is connected to the inner strut by an automatically disengageable coupling device.
In this way, it is possible to obtain that the inner strut first of all drags the wedge in its course until, after a determined driving-in stroke, it is sufficiently blocked by the wedge. In this position, the prop has reached the desired maximum resistance, and at this point the coupling between the wedge and the interior prop is disengaged, so that the interior prop can continue to sink into the exterior prop. by overcoming a re-
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
resistance which remains practically constant.
The principle of the present invention can be realized in the most different ways. Thus, for example, an additional load can be applied to the wedge by means of a ring or stirrup which surrounds the inner strut and which is executed in the manner of a pivoting stirrup or a wedging stirrup. . The wedging effect specific to the stirrup can, according to the invention, be transmitted as an additional force to the wedge (with sliding movement) which adheres to the internal strut, for example by the effect of friction and which must be dragged along in its course by the internal stanchion.
By this way. we obtain that the internal strut now drives the wedge imperatively until after a determined stroke, it is sufficiently blocked by the wedge. In this position, the transmission force of the caliper at the wedge is automatically suppressed by the fact that the caliper rests on the lock or on a special stopper and therefore cannot be driven further, since the fact that it abandons its oblique position with respect to the internal strut it eliminates its wedging action.
The stirrup itself can, according to the invention, be executed in different ways. This is how it is possible, for example, to give it the shape of what is called a "neck support" (nackentrëger), which provides an automatic jamming effect when it is placed obliquely or when it is placed at an angle. rotates. On the other hand, it is also possible to place the caliper under the influence of a clamping device, for example an eccentric, by means of which it is made to pass into the clamping position, in at the same time as, by loosening this locking device, it is possibly disengaged. In general, it is possible, within the framework of the present invention,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
to give a varied shape to the automatic coupling between the inner prop and the wedge with sliding motion.
Some of these embodiments will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which the invention is represented schematically by some examples of execution of a coupling executed in the form of a yoke.
In Figures 1 to 5, the device which is the object of the present invention is represented by five embodiments seen in the form of longitudinal sections of a mine prop.
The interior stanchion 1 with preferably parallel walls can be moved by translation inside the lower stanchion 2 and can be wedged in the lock pocket 3.
Inside the lock pocket 3 is arranged a wedge 4 which is connected by an articulation to a stirrup 5. Between the inner yoke 1 and the wedge 4, it is possible to place in the usual way a wedge 6 comprising a high coefficient of friction. The wedge 4 is applied, in the lock pocket 3, against the oblique face of a stop 7, and this stop can, to allow the withdrawal of the prop, be executed so as to be mobile and be located for example under the action (a device for clamping a wedge, an eccentric or the like.
By maneuvering this clamping device, it is possible, for example, to apply the stop 7, for the establishment of the prop, with force in the direction of the wedge 4 or of the internal prop 1, or else, to per - remove the prop, loosen this device Between the upper edge of the lock pocket 3 and the bracket 5 there is a gap a, and between a stop 8 and the support stop 7 a distance b . The operating mode of the mine prop shown is as follows.
When it is driven into the lower strut, the inner strut 1 first drives the stirrup 5 which thereby occupies a position.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Oblique sition of the kind, roughly, of that which is represented and thus acts retort what is called a "neck support" .. The stirrup 5 therefore forces the wedge 4 to descend with the inner strut 1 and thus wedging the inner strut 1 more and more strongly in the lock pocket 3.
The resistance that the prop opposes to the pressure of the ground is thus rapidly increased up to a determined maximum value. When the inner strut has traveled in a downward direction a course corresponding to the distance a for the stirrup 5 to rest on the upper edge of the lock pocket 3, the stirrup 5 is lifted and removed from its position. oblique position, the wedging effect produced between this stirrup and the inner strut 1 is eliminated and consequently the coupling between the inner strut 1 and the wedge 4 is eliminated.
If the prop has to be removed, the clamping device of the support stop 7 is released so that the wedging effect exerted by the wedge 4 on the inner prop 1 is eliminated. In the interval a, it is also possible to place between the bracket 5 and the upper edge of the lock pocket 3 or another stop, a spring which raises the bracket after releasing the lock. Such a spring, preferably relatively weak, can optionally be brought into action on the underside of the wedge 4.
It is understood that the whole construction, as well as the distance a, can accommodate dimensions such that the loosening of the coupling between the inner strut 1 and the wedge 4 only occurs when the wedge 4 has already sufficiently tightened the inner strut 1 in the lock pocket and therefore the inner strut 1 then continues to sink without the wedge 4 into the lower strut 2 when the load exerted by the rock on this strut has reached a high value.
We can then give the distance
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
the same value as at the distance b, or we can also give the distance h a value slightly greater than the distance a, to obtain that after the caliper 5 has taken support on the lock pocket 3 and after removing the coupling of the wedge 4 with the inner strut, the wedge 4 follows a short path further downwards, until its stop 8 rests on the support stop 7 or on the edge of the lock pocket 3.
In the example of execution according to FIG. 2, the caliper 5 is mounted to pivot about an axis 9 arranged in a guide buttonhole 10, and comprises a special pivoting bearing stop 11 in the caliper 5. The axis of rotation 9 is therefore shifted more towards the outside, in this embodiment, by comparison with FIG. 1, which makes it possible to obtain an increase in the wedging effect between the stirrup 5 and the internal strut 1.
In the example of execution according to FIG. 3, the axis 9 is disposed below the axis of rotation of the pressure piece 11. By this means, the caliper 5 is definitely prevented from coming out by rebounding itself from its po - oblique position and thus pass into its horizontal position when the force exerted on it reaches a high value,. Such a rebound is impossible when giving the caliper 5 the shape of an elbow lever run in Figure 3.
However, it is also possible to insert a special angled lever between the axis of rotation 9 and the pressure piece 11, this angled lever increasing the wedging pressure of the pressure piece 11 against the inner strut 1.
Fig. 4 shows an exemplary embodiment according to the invention in which the stirrup 5 has the shape of a round iron and rests freely on the wedge 4. In this particularly simple embodiment of the invention, the effects of-
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
written with reference to FIG. 1 also occur.
In the example of execution according to FIG. 5, a friction plate 12 is connected by a hinge to the stirrup 5, this plate in turn being driven downwards by the inner strut 1 and thus bringing the stirrup 5 in a secure manner. in the oblique position with respect to the internal strut 1. Below the friction plate 12, a spring can again be placed in the gap which lifts the friction plate 12 after loosening the bearing stop 7 when the strut is removed, and which pulls the stirrup 5 out of its oblique position with respect to the internal strut 1.
The invention is however not exhausted in any way by the exemplary embodiments shown and described. The principle which is at its basis and which consists in obtaining the drive of a wedge by the internal strut using a coupling device which is released after a driving stroke. However, this can still be done and implemented in very different ways.
The individual execution examples can also be combined with one another in whole or in part and be modified in detail. It is for example also possible to engage the stirrup 5, by giving a corresponding shape to the lock 3 of the prop not by resting on the upper edge of the wedge 4 has sliding movement, but, for example, in the middle corner 4.
