La présente invention est relative à une chaise comportant un siège pliable et, de préférence, amovible, et deux montants auxquels ce siège peut être fixé,chacun de ces montants oompre- nant notamment deux bras montés à charnière en forme de X, les bras d'un montant étant fixés aux bras de l'autre par l'inter- médiaire d'une paire de tringles au moins, un moyen permettant de fixer un bras d'un montant par rapport à l'autre bras de ce montant étant prévu.
De telles chaises sont connues. Il existe notamment des ohai- ses longues, généralement dénommées "transatlantiques". qui oor- respondent à la description énoncée ci-dessus.
Ces chaises offrent un inconvénient grave lors de leur trans- port, car quoique pliantes, leur largeur ne pouvait jusqu'ici être réduite.
La présente invention a pour but de remédier à cet incon- vénient.
A cet effet, les tringles susdites sont montées à charnière en forme de X et fixées à charnière aux bras des deux montants.

Dans une forme de réalisation avantageuse de l'objet de l'in- vention, la chaise comporte deux paires de tringles prévues dans des plans parallèles, les points de fixation des tringles aux bras des montants formant avec les points de fixation des bras des montants entre eux quatre triangles isocèles et égaux.
D'autres détails et particularités de l'invention ressorti- ront de la description d'une chaise suivant l'invention,donnée ci-après à titre d'exemple non limitatif et avec référence aux dessins ci -annexés .
La fig.l est une vue de oôté de la chaise pliée.
La fig.2 est une vue en plan de la même chaise également pliée.
La fig.3 est une vue de face à une autre échelle de la chaise dépliée, la toile formant siège n'étant pas représentée.
La fig. 4 est une vue de coté, à 1* échelle de la figure 3, de la chaise dépliée, montrant également la toile.
Dans les différentes figures, les mêmes notations de réfé- renoe désignent des éléments identiques.
La ohaise représentée aux figures comporte deux montants, chacun d'eux étant constitué de deux bras 1 à 4, montés à char- nière en forme de X. Ces deux montants,qui sont identiques,sont reliés par deux paires de tringles 13 à 16. Les tringles de chaque paire sont montées à charnière en forme de X. Ces trin- gles sont en outre fixées à charnière aux bras des montants.
Dans la chaise représentée, les deux paires de tringles sont prévues dans des plans parallèles et il est formé, par les points de fixation, des tringles aux bras des montants et par les points de fixation des bras des montants entre eux, quatre triangles identiques et isocèles.
Les paires de tringles se trouvent dans des plans perpendiou- laires aux plans des montants.

Si les montants sont pliés, c. à.d. si les extrémités des bras 1 à 4 touchant le sol sont rapprochées l'une de l'autre @ lextrémité du bras 1 se rapprochant/de l'extrémité du bras 2 et l'extrémité du bras 3 se rapprochant de l'extrémité du bras 4 - l'angle 5 (Fig. 3) tendra vers 0 , ce qui entraîne un rap- prochement des tringles 13 et 14 ainsi que des tringles 15 et 16. L'angle 5 tend vers 0 parce que, les extrémités inférieures des bras 1 et 2 et des bras 3 et 4 se rapprochant, la distance entre des points tels que 6 et 7 augmente et l'angle opposé 8 augmente en conséquence.
En effet, dans le triangle 6, 7, 9 - 9 étant le point de contact entre deux tringles d'une paire - seul le côté 6-7 est variable. 5 étant l'angle supplémentaire de 8, si ce dernier croît le premier décroît. Les montants se rapprochent donc s'ils sont pliés dans le sens décrit ci-dessus. Les bras 28 et 10, qui sont fixés à charnière aux extrémités des bras 1 et 3, forment le châssis d'un dossier. Les extrémités des bras 28 et 10 opposées aux bras 1 et 3 présentent des enpoches 11 et 12, dans lesquelles peut se loger un longeron 19. Les extrémités 17 et 18 des bras 2 et 4 présentent également des encoches pour un longeron 20. Les longerons 19 et 20 avec la toile 21 forment le siège qui est donc pliable et amovible.
Des appuis 22 et 23 relient les bras 2$ et 10 ambras 2 et 4. La fixation de ces bras aux appuis est à charnière. Les cro- chets 24 et 25, montés à charnière aux appuis et les saillies 26 et 27 prévues sur les bras 28 et 10 complètent la chaise.
Il est à remarquer que les bras du dossier peuvent être repliés lelong des bras des montants. Les crochets peuvent main- tenir la chaise dans une position stable.
Il doit être entendu que l'invention n'est nullement li - mitée à la forme d'exécution décrite ci-avant et que bien des mo- difications peuvent y être apportées, notamment quant à la forme,

à la constitution, au nombre et à la disposition des éléments intervenant dans sa réalisation sans sortir du cadre de la présente demande de brevet, à condition que ces changements soient compatibles avec l'esprit des revendications énoncées ci-après.
Quoi que la description et les dessins se rapportent à une chaise longue,l'invention peut également être appliquée aux chaises sans dossier.
Revendications.

The chair shown in the figures comprises two uprights, each of them consisting of two arms 1 to 4, hinged in the shape of an X. These two uprights, which are identical, are connected by two pairs of rods 13 to 16 The rods of each pair are hinged in an X-shape. These rods are additionally hinged to the arms of the uprights.
In the chair shown, the two pairs of rods are provided in parallel planes and it is formed, by the attachment points, of the rods to the arms of the uprights and by the attachment points of the arms of the uprights between them, four identical triangles and isosceles.
The pairs of rods are in planes perpendicular to the planes of the uprights.

If the uprights are bent, c. to.d. if the ends of arms 1 to 4 touching the ground are brought closer together @ the end of arm 1 approaching / the end of arm 2 and the end of arm 3 approaching the end of the arm 4 - angle 5 (Fig. 3) will tend towards 0, which brings about a coming together of rods 13 and 14 as well as rods 15 and 16. Angle 5 tends towards 0 because, the lower ends of the arms 1 and 2 and arms 3 and 4 approaching, the distance between points such as 6 and 7 increases and the opposite angle 8 increases accordingly.
Indeed, in triangle 6, 7, 9 - 9 being the point of contact between two rods of a pair - only side 6-7 is variable. 5 being the additional angle of 8, if the latter increases the first decreases. The amounts therefore approach if they are folded in the direction described above. The arms 28 and 10, which are hingedly attached to the ends of the arms 1 and 3, form the frame of a backrest. The ends of the arms 28 and 10 opposite the arms 1 and 3 have pockets 11 and 12, in which a spar 19 can be housed. The ends 17 and 18 of the arms 2 and 4 also have notches for a spar 20. The spars 19 and 20 with the canvas 21 form the seat which is therefore foldable and removable.
Supports 22 and 23 connect the arms 2 $ and 10 arms 2 and 4. The attachment of these arms to the supports is hinged. The hooks 24 and 25, hinged to the supports and the projections 26 and 27 provided on the arms 28 and 10 complete the chair.
Note that the backrest arms can be folded along the upright arms. The hooks can keep the chair in a stable position.
It must be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above and that many modifications can be made to it, in particular as regards the form,

the constitution, number and arrangement of the elements involved in its realization without departing from the scope of the present patent application, provided that these changes are compatible with the spirit of the claims set out below.
Although the description and the drawings relate to a lounge chair, the invention can also be applied to backless chairs.

1. Chair comprising a foldable and preferably removable seat and two uprights to which this seat can be attached, each of these uprights comprising in particular two arms mounted in an X-shaped hinge, the arms of an upright being attached to the arms on the other by means of at least a pair of rods, means for fixing an arm of an upright relative to the other arm of this upright being provided, oarao- terized in that the aforementioned rods are hinged in an X-shape and hinged to the arms of both uprights.
