<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device for rolling out the dough
The invention relates to a device for rolling out dough by means of a roller, each end of which is provided with a handle.
By means of known devices of this kind, the dough is rolled out into a layer on a work table or pan. However, this layer does not have the same thickness everywhere. If this layer were used to form cookies and other pastries, the thinnest parts of the dough layer could be burnt or overcooked.
The invention aims to eliminate these drawbacks and to establish a device making it possible to adjust the distance between the roller and the work table on which the dough is spread, so that by means of the device according to the invention the dough can be

@ in a layer the thickness of which is the same everywhere, which improves the quality of the cookies and other pastries prepared using this layer of dough.
According to the invention, the roller is mounted between supports in an adjustable manner in height. Using the device according to the invention, it is not only possible. roll out the dough in the form of a layer of constant thickness, but it is also possible to obtain a layer having a determined thickness. This advantage is very important, because layers of dough with different thicknesses are needed to prepare various kinds of pastries.
By way of demonstration, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the appended drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of an embodiment of the object of the invention,
Fig. is a side view, partially in section, of the device according to FIG. 1, and
Fig.:.; is an end view of this device.
In this drawing, 1 designates the roller which is provided with a handle at each of its ends. This roller is mounted between supports 3. In these supports 3 are mounted axes
4, the extensions of which form the handles 2. These pins 4 are provided with an eccentric part 5 which is rotatably mounted in one end of the roller 1. For this purpose, each end of the roller 1 is provided with ball bearings 6.
The axes 4 can turn in the supports 3 after loosening the locking screw 7. The angular displacement of the axes
4 has the effect of adjusting the height position of roller 1.
The axes 4 are provided with a graduation 8, while a reference line, cooperating with it and not shown in the drawing, is provided on the supports 3. Thanks to the reference and. To the graduation,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the axes 4 can be brought to any desired determined position. If the two axes 4 are brought into the same determined position, it is obvious that the roller 1 is in a position parallel to the working table on which the dough is to be lowered. Using the device illustrated in the accompanying drawing, the dough can therefore be lowered into a layer the thickness of which is the same everywhere. Using the illustrated device, however, it is also possible to roll out the dough into one. layer having a determined thickness.
For this purpose, the pins 4 are provided with a graduation such that each degree corresponds to a determined distance between the roller and the working table on which the dough is to be lowered.
In order to facilitate the handling of the device according to the invention, the supports 3 are provided with rollers 9 made of an incompressible material, so that the pressure exerted on these rollers remains without influence on the distance between the roller and the table. job.
The roller 1 may for example be made of wood, but it is desirable to make it of metal and make it hollow, the ends of the roller 1 being provided with removable covers 10, preferably screw covers. The roller 1 can then contain a coolant, so that the dough can be cooled while it is being rolled down, as described in another patent application by the same applicant. To allow easy unscrewing of the covers 10, the supports 3 are provided with pins 11 movable in the direction of their length, one end of which can be inserted into a notch or recess of the cover 10, so as to prevent the angular displacement of this cover screw with respect to the eccentric part 5 of the axis 4.
In the device illustrated in the drawing, a spring 12 is provided, so that the pin 11 must be pressed against the action of this spring, when locking the screw cover 10.
