<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

System allowing instant and methodical opening. bags or boxes of paper, cardboard, or the like.
Until now, the opening of bags or cardboard or paper boxes has been done by tearing or cutting the lid. This operation, which was not always easy, most of the time resulted in the deterioration of the packaging.
As a result, he lost all presentation, to the point that his use or his display in shelves or otherwise, was no longer possible.
The present invention overcomes these drawbacks by making it possible to obtain the instantaneous and methodical opening of these packages, by means of perforations, markings or special cutouts of the closure tabs of the packages.

ges, executed during their making.
The invention consists in principle in providing the packaging in question (sachets or boxes of paper or cardboard) with panels which can easily be torn and removed by the user.
Said panels are, during the preparation of the packaging delimited on the entire periphery or on part of it; by lines of perforations, or by tracing lines of weakness or by partial cutting of their thickness or by any other suitable and appropriate process.
These tear panels can be provided at any place whatsoever of the packaging, they will preferably be placed in the cover (or the latter will constitute in its entirety or partially such a panel) which is generally formed by the assembly of four closing tabs folding back and overlapping at least partially, at the top of the packaging.
Optionally, the upper closing tab may be provided with such a tear panel, while the others will be indented or cut so as to allow access to the interior of the packaging, when the aforementioned tear panel has been removed, or else, two or more tabs may carry tear panels juxtaposed when closing the box and joined or secured in this position by stapling, gluing or any other appropriate means.
Each package may have one or more tear-off panels.
The tear-off panel (s) may or may not be provided with a tab which will facilitate the application of the traction to be exerted for their removal.
Three embodiments, given purely by way of non-limiting examples, are shown in the drawings.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
attached, in which:
Fig. 1 shows three views of the top of a box.
Fig. 2 shows the upper part of a box, according to a second embodiment and FIG. 3 represents a third embodiment.
In figure 1, the upper part of the box 1 is shown in three different positions,
In the first (open box) are shown the four closing tabs -2-3-4 and 5, the tab 5 disposed in the extension of one of the long sides of the box is provided with the tab 6 and is divided into three parts by the perforations 7, which delimit the central part carrying the tongue 6 and which can be torn along its perforations and removed when opening the box.
The tab 4 is provided with two openings 8. In the second illustrated position, the box 1 is shown partially closed, that is to say that the tabs 2 and 3 previously folded down and glued or not are covered by the tab 4, the upper part of the latter will be glued, except in the part carrying the openings 8. When the tab 5 is folded down, in turn, as shown in the third position, it will stick to the glued parts of the tab 4. From this way, when the box is opened, by tearing and removing, along the perforations, the central part of the tab 5, the openings 8 will be free and will allow pouring, for example, the powdery, granulated or similar product contained in the box.
FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment, in which the central parts of the tabs 4 and 5 are delimited by perforations. The perforations 7 are made in the tab 5 and the perforations are arranged in the tab 4, in such a way that they overlap exactly when the box 1 is closed and glued
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
as described above.
Referring to the drawings of Figure 1, it will be appreciated; that to open the box shown in Figure 2 it will suffice to operate a pull on the tongue 6 to simultaneously remove the two parts delimited by the perforations 7 and 8 and thus create an opening giving access to the inside of the packaging .
In Figure 3 is shown a third embodiment in which the closure tabs 2-4 and 5 are perforated along lines 11 which join them to the box 1. In this example, a tab 6 'is provided at the 'one of the short sides of the tab 4, while the tab 2 has a notch 10, semi-circular.
The box is closed as in the previous examples, that is to say, the tabs 2 and 3 are first folded down and then glued, then the tab 4 is folded down and its upper part also coated with glue receives tab 5.
To open the box 1, a pull is exerted on the tab 6 'and the entire cover comes off along the perforated lines 11 and pivots on the line of meeting of the tab 3 to the box. If this line is also perforated, the cover formed by the four joined legs can be completely removed from the box.
Other variants can be made, according to the needs in the execution of these packaging without altering the scope or the extent of the invention.
