<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
La figure 1 montre une coupe verticale d'un brûleur ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Burner for liquid fuel.
This invention relates to burners for liquid fuel. Its purpose is to provide a burner which on the one hand produces complete combustion of the vaporized fuel and, on the other hand, eliminates the unpleasant odor due to continuing evaporation, for example, after the flame has been extinguished. .
According to. present invention, the burner for liquid fuel comprises a casing or box, closed at its lower part, which forms a single part with an annular vaporizer; the bundle which constitutes a distributor of the gas-air mixture is traversed perpendicularly to the vertical axis of the burner, by a mixing tube closed at one of its ends and provided laterally at its closed end or near it, one or more exhaust ports for the air-gas mixture. '
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The vaporizer is preferably provided with a device for controlling its fuel supply, this device being placed very close to the place where the fuel supply pipe enters the vaporizer.
In the case of burners with several flames, the mixing tube of the 1st burner, where the vaporization takes place, forms a single part with a transfer nozzle conveying the air-gas mixture to the other burners. The transfer nozzle is provided with exhaust ports at the ignition points and is provided with separate shut-off and adjustment mechanisms for supplying the burners / coupled to the transfer nozzle.
By way of example, the accompanying drawings describe the invention.
Figure 1 shows a vertical section of a burner;
FIG. 2 is a horizontal section taken along the line II-II of FIG. 1,
Figure 3 shows a vertical section of a modified type of burner to which an additional burner is coupled.
As can be seen in the drawings 1 and 2, the burner is provided with a box-shaped casing 1 closed at its lower part 2 and forms a single whole with an annular vaporizer 3.
The vaporizer 3 has the shape of either a tube making pa. rtie integral with an annular flange 4 which is located at the upper part of the box is as shown in the drawing, an annular groove closed at its som: net by a flat washer 5 welded to the walls of the groove.
To the upper part of the boot 1 is fixed a burner head 6 provided at its periphery with spaced slots 7, preferably longitudinal.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Box 1 is provided with a gas-air mixture tube 8 which extends transversely to the boot 1 perpendicular to the vertical axis of the latter
The mixing tube 8 is closed at one of its ends 9; its other end 10 is in front of a nozzle
11 which is connected to the vaporizer 3 by a conduit 12 in the room 12a. The vaporizer 3 and the part 12a form a single part with the box 1.
The fuel which escapes from the nozzle 11 sucks in the outside air and forces it back into the mixing tube 8.
At or near the closed end 9, the mixing tube 8 is laterally pierced with exhaust openings 13.
In the box 1, 11 is provided a shallow bowl 14 intended to receive the liquid fuel, such as methyl alcohol, with the aid of which the preheating of the vaporizer 3 can be carried out.
The vaporizer 3 is conditioned in such a way that it can be connected to the fuel supply pipe by a suitable supply pipe 15. The vaporizer 3 and. a sleeve 15ada supply pipe 15 are an integral part of the box 1.
With a burner like the one described above, the liquid fuel supplying the vaporizer 3 is vaporized completely because the flame coming from the bowl 14, during the preliminary heating, completely licks the lower part of the vaporizer 3. The flame of the burner , as soon as it is lit, ensures the continuation of this vaporization.
It is preferable to form in one piece the boot 1, the vaporizer 3, the sleeve 15a provided for the inlet pipe 15 and for a closing mechanism 16 which will be discussed later, and the part 12a allowing the escape of vaporized fuel. In this way, any interference with the conduction of heat is avoided.
In a burner as described above, the gas-air mixture acquires and maintains the necessary temperature and / or
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
it is superheated, which results in its complete vaporization and consequently its complete combustion. part of the stream formed by the mixture which escapes from the openings 13 of the mixing tube b is partly deflected from its path along the hot inner wall of the box 1 and returns in the direction of the inlet port read from mixing tube 8, the other part of the gas stream flowing along the hot inner paboi of box 1.
The gas-air mixture is thus seriously stirred and mixed while being heated by the box 1 in which it is located and by the burner head 6 before escaping through the slots 7 of the latter.
In order to cause the complete vaporization of the liquid fuel and to avoid any carbon deposit in the vaporizer 3 and in the nozzle 11, a closing mechanism 16 is provided in the sleeve 15a to adjust the flow of fuel in the vaporizer 3.
The closure device 16 is placed directly at the place where the supply pipe 15 enters the vaporizer 3.
As shown in figs 1 and 2, the supply pipe 15 communicates with the vaporizer 3 via a duct 17, the flow rate of which is regulated by the mechanism 16 controlled by the button 18.
Thanks to these devices, the calamity of the interior of the vaporizer and the unpleasant and harmful odor due to subsequent evaporation of fuel, for example, when the flame is extinguished, are obviated.
The nozzle 11, in communication with the vaporizer 3 via the pipe 12, can also be provided with a nozzle cleaning needle operated by a button 19.
The closing mechanism 16 serves both to adjust the size of the flame and to extinguish it completely, which further prevents any flow of compressed air which may be present in the fuel container.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
When it is only desired to use a single vaporizer to supply a burner with several flames, the arrangement of FIG. 3 can be adopted.
As shown in this figure, the gas-air mixture is brought from the casing or boot 1, provided with the vaporizer 3, to the boxes of the other burners, one of which is shown at 20, by a transfer nozzle 21. The nozzle transfer 21 forms an extension of the mixing tube 8 with which it constitutes one piece, the closed end 9 of the mixing tube 8 being open in this case.
The gas stream firing from the nozzle 11, at the same time as the air / aspirates and that it delivers into the mixing tube 8, passes through the transfer nozzle 21 to all the additional burners, the transfer nozzle being provided with exhaust openings 13 inside the additional burners.
In order to prevent the build-up of residual gaseous deposits in the transfer nozzle 21 and in particular to avoid any unpleasant odor when the flame is extinguished, closing mechanisms, such as 22, are provided in the nozzle. transfer 21; each closing mechanism 22 being placed near near behind the exhaust ports 13 of the previous burner.
The construction of the additional burners is the same as that of the 1st burner but in fact the vaporizer 3, the nozzle 11 and the bowl 14 can be omitted.
The closing mechanisms 22, which can be operated by hand, serve both for the adjustment, or for the extinction of the flame of each burner.
By the massive and squat construction of the boot 1 and of the annular vaporizer: 3 which together with the parts 12a and 15a form a single part and which it is moreover preferable to obtain from a foundry, the advantage of '' a concentration of heat through which the fuel

block, by its concentration.
As the supply of liquid fuel can be cut off at the very point where it enters the vaporizer 3, there is no possibility that liquid fluid will remain in this latter part after the flame has been extinguished.
In this way, unpleasant odors are avoided and there can be no unburned fuel in vaporizer 3 which would leave there deposits capable of clogging this vaporizer.
