<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>

<EMI ID=8.1>

<EMI ID=10.1>

Installation for loading wool or other
material on an apron, mainly on an apron
of great width.
The present invention relates to an installation for loading wool or other material.
on an apron, mainly on a large apron, forming part of machines such as carbonizers or wool dryers, acid wool openers, etc ...
The main aim of the invention is to achieve
a considerable saving in labor and at the same time to obtain on the apron of the machine to load a layer
of material that is uniform and that can be adjusted easily and automatically.
This installation is characterized as essential ^
ment in that it includes as essential elements a
hood or a hopper placed on a mobile apron which removes
at the lower part of the latter the material which has
introduced, this material then being brought to a
drummer who chases her on the apron of the maohine to be loaded
and the adjustment of the layer of material on the latter apron being effected by a modification of the speed of the apron
<EMI ID = 1.1>
In the practical realization of the invention and in its application to the loading of a dryer, a carbonizer, etc. of wool or other textile material, the material may be brought to the hood by an apron which is seated. 'extends along the side corresponding to the length of the latter and it is then dumped into it
with the help of a raoleur who sweeps this last tabliar in

When loading an opener with acid wool or other textile material, the material is usually thrown by hand over an apron which brings it to a beater which throws it into the hood over the top. variable speed apron.
The accompanying drawings show two embodiments of the invention.
FIGS. 1 and 2 are views respectively in elevation and in plan of an installation applicable to the loading of a dryer or of a carbonizer for textiles.
Figures 3 and 4 are also elevation and plan views respectively showing the application
<EMI ID = 3.1> Figure 5 is a detail view of this machine.
In the machine according to figures let 2, the wool or other material is brought onto an apron 1 which, as
<EMI ID = 4.1>
tobre 1944, extends along the side corresponding to the length of a hood or hopper 2 and it is discharged into the latter using a scraper 3 which sweeps the apron 1 in a direction perpendicular to that of the shifting
of the latter over a distance corresponding approximately
to the length of hopper 2 and which is attached to chains
4 parallel to each other and circulating around chain wheels

material to a beater 7 which projects it onto the apron 8 of the machine to be loaded.
The layer 9 which will form on the apron 6 has a thickness which corresponds to the width of the hopper 2, but the quantity which is removed from it during a given time and consequently that which is brought on the apron 8 during this same period , depends on the speed of the apron 6. There is thus a simple and effective means of adjusting the height of the layer 10 on the apron 8.
A roller 11 can be provided which presses lightly on the wool of the layer 9 and retains it before it is taken by the beater 7 and the usual roller 12.
A cover 13 can be placed around the beater 7 in order to prevent wool from being spattered into the ambient atmosphere.
This installation is suitable for charging
<EMI ID = 8.1>
to be loaded over a width of several meters
and it provides an important advantage which results from what until now, in the case of a loading having to be carried out for example air 3 meters in width, one had to have back to two loaders of the existing type each carrying out a loading on a width of. 1 m. 50, which gives rise to an increase in the cost price.
However, the installation presents other results which are the. following:
<EMI ID = 9.1>
very long to pass under the machine without inconvenience;
<EMI ID = 10.1>
beater 7 and it is put in a state allowing it to undergo in. better conditions for the carbonization operation, which is very important, given that the air current can thus pass better through the; layer of wool and reach all the plant parts to be carbonized. This is not the case if the wool is more or less packed.
in bundles at the time of loading.
These advantages remain the same when the loaded wool is to be dried rather than charred, the charring actually differing from drying only in its intensity.
The machine shown in Figures 3, 4 and 5 is used primarily to supply an opener with acid wool.
It comprises, like the machine of FIGS. 1 and 2, a final apron 8, a beater 7 removing the material from an apron 6 at adjustable speed on which a hood 2 is placed.
However, loading of the hood 2 does not take place mechanically; the wool is thrown by hand onto a board 14 which brings the wool to a beater 15, and it is lightly pressed and retained by a roller 16.
The beater 15 projects the wool of the apron 14 into the hood 2 which is surmounted by a cover 17 provided with perforated sheets 18 on its two lateral faces.
La.hotte 2 can optionally be provided with two glass side walls, in order to be able to control the height of the wool.
A roller 11 retains the wool on the apron 6.
This loader has, when applied to an opener, the following advantages over existing devices:
1 [deg.]) It opens the wool strongly without tearing it before going through the opener, the speed of which can be reduced. The wool will therefore be opened by the loader and less torn by the opener.
2 [deg.]) All yarns without distinction, both short and very long, can pass through the loader without inconvenience. This is not the case with existing loaders, the teeth not taking very short wool waste or very long wool.
n not going to the loader without certain inconveniences such as windings, etc.
Each of the two machines described allows, as can easily be seen, a significant saving in labor and makes very easy the adjustment of the layer on the apron of the machine to be loaded. This layer will also be perfectly uniform.
An advantage of each of the machines described is furthermore that the loading takes place regularly over the entire width of the apron.
