Fig. 1 montre la voiture en élévation latérale et dans une position repliée;
Fig. 2 montre une position intermédiaire de dépliage de la voiture;
Fig. 3 montre la voiture dans la position qu'elle occupe lorsqu'elle doit être poussée;
Fig. 4 est une vue similaire à la Fig. 3, le guiaon étant abaissé pour permettre l'emploi de la voiture comme berceau;
Figs.

"Folding children's car"
The present invention relates to a novel folding baby car for transporting children in a lying position, which is characterized and differs essentially from all similar cars known hitherto, by its extreme lightness, its great strength, its small dimensions in the position of use - which are reduced to a minimum when the car is folded up - and its simplicity of construction without complications, making its handling extremely easy.
A considerable number of types of baby carriages for transporting children are heretofore known and their use is general. These have replaced the old custom of carrying children in the arms, with all the drawbacks inherent in this habit, but due to their characteristics, these cars, in turn, have certain drawbacks.
Among these may be mentioned, in the first place, the excessive weight and volume offered by the. most of these cars, which makes their handling difficult and especially their inconvenient transport when it comes to taking them upstairs and having to store them in a small space.
The aforementioned reasons could possibly be the cause that these means of transport are abandoned, because the convenience of their use in the street is counterbalanced by the unpleasant preparation which consists in getting them down or out of the place where they are parked, inconvenience which are renewed when they return home.
All these inconveniences are avoided entirely by the employment

of the baby carriage which is the object of the present invention, which has the advantage of being foldable and of therefore offering only a small space requirement in this position. at the same time, its weight is insignificant and, therefore, it can be easily carried with one hand. There is therefore no difficulty in transporting the car upstairs, in taking it in elevators, in buses, trams, etc., and it is also remarkable for the small space it occupies when it is not. is not in use.
The operation of folding or unfolding the car is extremely simple and does not require any special tools or skills; its joints are strong and cannot be forced by any effort and the assembly provides complete safety and comfort for the child.
Finally, it should be noted that the handlebars are presented in such a position that they do not constitute any hindrance, so that the car can be used as a cradle in the house.
For a better understanding of the subject of the following description, a practical embodiment of a cradle car according to the invention is illustrated, by way of example, in the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 shows the car in side elevation and in a stowed position;
Fig. 2 shows an intermediate position for unfolding the car;
Fig. 3 shows the car in the position it occupies when it is to be pushed;
Fig. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 3, the guiaon being lowered to allow the use of the car as a cradle;
Figs. 5 and 6 show details of the closing and fixing elements of the car ;.
Fig. 7 shows a detail of the main articulation of the compasses.
This cradle car is essentially formed of a double scissor-shaped frame comprising the uprights 1 and 2 articulated at 3 (Fig. 7) by means of the pivot 4 integral with the upright 2, and which, after passing through the upright 1, extends from the free side and is surrounded by a coil spring 5, working in compression and retained by a washer 6, fixed with a locking screw tooth the goal is to maintain a certain adjustment and a certain pressure between the two uprights. The whole is protected by a

small cap 7.
At the end of each pair of uprights 1 and 3 are provided pivots perpendicular to them, not shown in the drawings, which each carry a wheel 8 rotating freely around these pivots.
The ends of the uprights 1, opposite the wheels 8, are hingedly connected to a horizontal frame 9, the supports 2 also being connected to said frame, but using a set of levers 10 and 10 'which meet. compass-shaped. The articulation of the upright 2 with said levers takes place at 11, said upright being extended and having at its end another articulation 12, shown in detail in FIGS. 5 and 6.
To this articulation is connected the lower end of the two branches 13 of the handlebar which at the same time has another articulation 14, similar to the articulation 11 of the upright 2, with which it is connected by means of the said set of levers 10. and 10 '.
From the horizontal frame 9 is suspended, by various helical springs 15, a second frame 16 which supports a net, a canvas or the like which constitutes the actual cradle.
The handling of this baby carriage takes place as follows.
Assuming it is in the position shown in Fig. 1, it suffices to open it to remove the handlebars 13 from the body of the car by lifting it by the part intended to be held in hand. By this movement, the articulation of the branches of this handlebar 13, with respect to the uprights 2, around the pivot 12. produces a progressive opening of the compass formed by the levers 10 and 10 'articulated between them as well as at 11 and 14. respectively, which continue to open until their pivot coincides with that of the joint 12.
This movement has the effect of producing a progressive opening of the scissors formed by the uprights 1 and 2, until they successively take the positions shown in Figs. 2 and 3.
Once in this position, the subsequent movement of the handlebars, until, obtaining the position shown in Fig. 4, produces no change in the position of the scissors.
To fold the car, simply reverse the movement of the handlebars. This will produce the gradual closing of the scissors until they again arrive in the position shown in Fig. 1.
To fix the handlebars 13 in the desired position, the arbi-

culations 12 (Figs. 5 and 6) are provided with locking means formed by two discs 17 and 18 with radial splines, integral with the elements 2 and 13, which can be engaged or released under the action of a threaded shaft 19 integral an external lever 20.
The assembly can be completed by a folding top and the handlebars 13 can be provided with a few rings for hanging there, for example, bags containing clothes or other objects.
