Fig. 1 montre l'application de l'invention à un gazogène à charbon;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
REVENDICATIONS.

"CONDENSER FOR GAZOGENE" The invention relates to gasifiers for supplying internal combustion or combustion engines and relates especially to an apparatus intended to collect and to remove the condensation water which is generally deposited in the generators of gasifiers, on the more or less cooled walls of the combustion store of the latter.
Despite the precautions taken to keep at. to protect the fuels for gasifiers, such as charcoal, wood, etc. from humidity, it is practically impossible, unless they are kept in storage in heated rooms, to prevent the amount of humidity contained in these fuels is so high that a large dose of undecomposed water vapor in the incandescent zone, is entrained in the gases and does not occur.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
condense in the gas filtering devices, especially during cold seasons, blocking the passage of these gases by plugging the filter sleeves.
It has been noticed that when the cover of the generator of a gasifier was removed, after a certain stoppage of the engine supplied by the latter, this cover and the walls of the fuel store of this generator were covered with droplets. of condensation water, resulting from the evaporation of the humidity contained in the fuel.
The object of the invention is to prevent the entrainment of this condensation water into the gasifier's focus by providing in the generator means for collecting and discharging said water.
According to the invention, there is, at the upper part of the generator of the gasifier, a capacity on the walls of which condenses the water vapor released from the fuel and which, by streaming along said walls, flows by gravity. in a reservoir formed at the lower part of this capacity.
Two embodiments of the condenser according to the invention will be described below, by way of example, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows the application of the invention to a coal gasifier;
Fig. 2 shows the application of the invention to a wood gasifier.
As shown in these drawings, to the upper part of the body of the generator 5 of a gasifier, is fixed a capacity consisting of an outer wall 6 and an inner wall 7 joined at their base by a bottom 8 and at their sonnet, or by a wall 9, as shown in FIG. 1, or by folding back the wall 7 which joins the wall 6, as shown in FIG. 2.
The wall 7 is provided with openings 7 which communicate the chamber 10, formed between the said walls 6 and 7, with
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the central chamber 11 and with the fuel store 12 formed in the body of the generator *
The capacitor thus formed is applied with a hermetic seal on the neck 13 of the generator, which normally receives the cover 14 of the latter, while this cover is hermetically applied to the collar 15 formed at the upper part of this capacitor. .
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the cover 14 is pressed by a caliper 16 which is tightened using an axial rod provided with a cross member 17, engaged by its ends under the neck 13 of the generator, so as to simultaneously block the cover 14 and the capacity on generator 5.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the capacity is bolted to the body 5 of the generator and the cover 14 is held, hermetically, on the collar 15 using an elastic blade 18, blocked. by a lever 19.
A tap 20 is provided at the lower part of the capacity.
In the apparatus thus produced, the humidity contained in the fuel stored in the body of the generator 5 and evaporated under the action of the temperature given off by the gasifier hearth, enters through the openings 7a made in the wall 7 to come to condense on the cooled walls of chamber 10 of the apparatus. The water droplets which trickle down on these walls flow by gravity into the reservoir formed in the lower part of the chamber 10. This water is then discharged by means of the tap 20.
In order to promote cooling of the outer walls of the condenser as described, the wall may advantageously be lined with cooling fins 21.
It is understood that this condenser can affect any
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
appropriate form, depending on the type of gasifier to which the invention is applied *
Likewise, when the internal dimensions of the gasifier fuel store allow it, the condenser can be incorporated into the generator of the gasifier or be placed in a removable manner in the body thereof.
