Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Process for obtaining detergents, wetting agents, foam producers, dispersers of metal salts and emulsifiers, and agents obtained by this process.
The present invention relates to novel agents for deterging, wetting, producing scum, dispersing metal salts (mainly alkaline-earth) and emulsifying, and their manufacturing process.
In order to obtain such agents, it has already been proposed to treat with sulfuric acid the condensation product of certain acids with monoethanolamine; but the products obtained were more or less inefficient with respect to one or more of the detergent, wetting, foaming, dispersing or emulsifying properties. Further obtaining the products @

in a finely powdery form and no longer agglomerating, was impossible to achieve directly.
On the other hand, the use of monosubstituted amines sometimes led to condensation products containing more than one amine molecule and this more or less suppressed one or more of the properties recalled above.
The idea was, in accordance with the present invention, to start with murumuru butter or fatty acids derived from partially saponified murumuru butter and to condense them with polysubstituted amines, the condensation product obtained then being treated with an acid. capable of giving a sulphonated or phosphonated derivative or a sulphuric or phosphoric ether,
As polysubstituted amines, one can use methyl-ethylamine, methylpropylamine, methylbutylamine, methylor ethyl-ethanolamine, propanolamine, methyl or ethylpropanolamine, dodecylethanolamine, oleylethanolamine, ricinethanolamine, etc.
As the acid, ordinary sulfuric acid, monohydrate or charged with anhydride, chlorosulfonic acid, phosphorus pentoxide, acid chlorides or a mixture of these various substances, etc. can be used.
It is also possible to use, as a starting product, mixtures of murumura butter with lauric acid and hydrogenation products of vegetable oils, condensed either with the amines mentioned above, or with the resulting products.

condensation of ammonia or of an amine with terpene hydrocarbons and alcohols and the ethers of the latter.
The sulfonation or phosphonation are carried out with or without the presence of substances such as sodium tungstate, ammonia vanadate, chloraldehyde, etc.
The products obtained have very marked properties from the point of view of the wetting of vegetable and animal textile fibers and of cooked and skins as well as furs; they dissolve and disperse lime soaps and other metallic soaps and, with impure water, give an abundant and persistent soft foam; their detergent properties designate them as industrial and household cleaning agents or as auxiliaries to bleaching or dyeing agents; they are also good emulsifiers. They are obtained directly, without physical or mechanical intervention, in very fine powder, of low density and not agglomerating.
By way of non-limiting example: to 200 kgs of murumuru butter, 70 g of methylmonoethanolamine are added and the whole is heated for two hours at 1700 C. while removing the water of condensation. A solid product is obtained, 100 kg of which are treated with 80 kg of 20% oleum, with stirring, until perfect solubility in cold water, in the presence of 10 g. ammonia metavanadate. The sulfonate obtained is added. of sodium carbonate until neutral and directly supplies the sodium salt in the form of a powder; very fine and very dry white
