<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Afin de mieux faire comprendre l'invention, on va en décrire oi-après plusieurs modes de réalisation pris à titre d'exemples aucunement limitatifs, et représentés aux âessins annexés dans lesquels: la fig. 1 est une vue en coupe verticale suivant l'axe I-I de la f ig. 2; la fig. 2 une coupe horizontale suivant la ligne II-II de la fig. 1 et la fig. 3 une coupe horizontale suivant la ligne III-III de la fig. l d'un premier mode de réalisation; las fig. 4 et 5 sont des schémas de montage;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

Electric breaker-switch.
The present invention relates to improvements to breakers for electrical circuits, belonging to the category of flashing and / or time delay breakers, and more particularly to. the category of magnetic devices.
The device which is the subject of the invention is essentially characterized by the use of a transversely magnetized disc or equivalent magnet, which moves in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
field of a solenoid, which maintains the periodic oscillations of the magnet; this actuated the main breaking devices as well as the breaking devices of its own excitation circuit; a spring or equivalent member constantly tends to keep the mobile assembly in its resting position.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the breaking is effected by means of an oame integral with the axis of the movable disc, this cam acting on the one hand on the main contact, and on the other hand on the contacts of the circuit. 'excitation oonstituted by CLOS spiral springs.
A spiral spring ensures the return of the moving assembly to its rest position. A braking device may be provided to come into action when the axis tends to pivot by an angle greater than a predetermined value, as well as in the case where the pivoting movement takes place with too much kinetic energy with regard to the device operating conditions.
To enable the start up when the excitation circuit is open, the breaker can be associated with a thermal bimetal device bypassing the excitation and thus ensuring the first half-oscillation of the magnet; breaking after a predetermined time by this bimetallic device activates the auxiliary contacts.
Compared with previously known devices, the device which is the subject of the invention is distinguished by its simplicity by its regularity of operation, and above all by its practically negligible consumption since it is of the order of a few milliwatts only for a breaking capacity. of the order of anpère under 110 volts.

In order to better understand the invention, several embodiments will be described below, taken by way of non-limiting examples, and shown in the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a vertical sectional view along the axis I-I of f ig. 2; fig. 2 a horizontal section along the line II-II of FIG. 1 and fig. 3 a horizontal section along the line III-III of FIG. l of a first embodiment; las fig. 4 and 5 are assembly diagrams;
FIG. 6 shows an alternative embodiment applicable to the control of several circuits, finally FIGS. 7 and 8 show respectively in vertical section along line VII-VII and in horizontal section along line VIII-VIII of FIG. 7, an alternative embodiment of the u isposit if shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
As shown in the figures, the breaker-switch 10 is constituted by a disc 11 magnetized transversely and integral with a pin 12 which is pivoted in lower plates 13 and upper 14. The lower plate supports the two. excitation coils 15 and 16 of rectangular shape, flattened and elongated, in the opening of which the disc 11 moves. On the axis 12 is wedged a finger 17 which controlled, via a spindle 17 ', contacts 18 and 19; a spiral spring 20 fixed on a support 21 carried by the plate 14 tends to bring the mobile assembly to its rest position.
To finger 17 corresponds, on the diametrically opposite side of axis 12, a second finger 22 which controls the indicator device.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
interruption of the excitation circuit of the actual breaker via a tilting cam 23 articulated around an axis 24, and the rear end of which carries two vertical pins 24 'and 24 "on which the finger 22 during its oscillating movements.
This brings either the insulated part 27 or the conductive part 25 opposite the contact spring 29, the suitably arranged end of which can penetrate either into the end 25 'or into the notch 27' in order to cut or restore the circuit which closes by the contact 29 'connected to the axis 24 and mounted, like the spring 29, on the insulating plate 26.
In order to reduce the amplitude of the angular displacements of the disc, the periphery of the latter bears a boss 67 on which bears a braking spring 68 fixed on the plate 3 or on the intermediate plate (see FIG. 3).
The assembly of the device is shown in FIGS.
4 and 5: It can be seen that the current source supplies coils 15 and 16 in series, and that the circuit is closed by oontaots 18 and 19; the excitation of the coils 15 and 16 causes the rotation of the disc 11, therefore of the ace 12, and the pivoting of the finger 17 which, passing in front of the contact 19, which is longer than the contact 18, opens the circuit, that is to say allows the aisque to return to its rest position under one action of the return spring 20. The game is reproduced at each interruption of the excitation circuit
According to a variant (see fig. 5) two current sources mounted in opposition supplying the two fixed contacts 18 and 18 ', while the movable contact 19 is controlled, as in the previous case, by the finger 17.

This embodiment can include many variants and FIG. 6 gives an example where the circuit is not cut and reestablished at each oscillation as in the example above. The oscillating system acts on a toothed wheel 59, which rotates in one direction only being retained by the spring 51, the needle 52 returned by a spring 55 not sliding in one direction of oscillation. The wheel 59 acts by reduction 56 (worm screw for example) on a contactor 57-58 making it possible to control one or more circuits, either simultaneously or one after the other - arrangement easy to achieve with oon means. - naked.
It can be seen that this arrangement makes it possible to obtain a well-defined duration of contact and breakage by adapting suitable reduction members.
The arrangements described above are given by way of example; it is possible to provide that instead of simply cutting the current in a circuit, the contact position used for breaking the circuit can be used to send current to a second circuit, for example switching on and off two lamps alternately *
The variant embodiment of FIGS. 7 and 8 are distinguished from the embodiment of Figs 1 to, 3 by the use of a control cam and auxiliary contacts formed by coil springs This device comprises, as in the previous case, a magnetic disc 31 , integral with an axis 32 which is supported in a pivot of the lower plate 33.
this CI is connected to the upper plate 34 by spacers 35 and screws 36, and also supports the excitation coils 37 and 38.
The upper plate carries, by means of spacers 39,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
the plate 40 forming the upper pivot of the axis 32, one of the spacers 39 also serving as a support for the spiral spring 41 which ensures the return of the axis 31.
On this axis is wedged a cam 42 carrying an upper pin 43 and a lower pin 44. The cam acts on a movable contact 45 cooperating with a fixed contact 46, while the upper pin 43 actuates a spiral spring 47 cooperating with a second spiral spring 48 the two spirals 47 and 48 constituting the switch of the excitation circuit of the apparatus. The braking is ensured by a folded-down metal blade 49 which can pivot freely around its fixing screw 50 and whose ends freely surround the axis 31. When the oscillation amplitude of the disc becomes too great, the spindle lower 44 comes into contact with one of the brake pins and applies it to the axle, thus ensuring the slowdown of oelui-oi.
