"RACCORD AUTOMATIQUE POUR CABLES,CORDES OU ANALOGUES".
@

"AUTOMATIC CONNECTION FOR CABLES, CORDS OR SIMILAR".
@
The present patent relates to an automatic connector for cables, ropes or the like, in which the two parts of the connector, at one end of each of which is attached one of the ends of the cables or the like which it is connected to. act of coupling, are attached to each other by the so-called bayonet fitting device with the interposition of a spring forcing the two parts of the fitting to remain in intimate contact with each other, once that they are hung.
The envisaged connection could preferably be carried out in any suitable metallic material or even for certain applications in non-metallic material (attachment or suspension of electrical lines).
In order to better emphasize the above discussion, des-. Sins appended represent by way of explanatory and non-limiting example a connector intended to receive at its ends the ends of cables connecting for example a tug to the barge that it tows.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
To this end, Fig1 shows the envisaged connection seen in -olan.
Fig.2 the faccord of fig.I seen in elevation.
Fig. 3 a cover in elevation along the longitudinal axis of the connector represents in Figs. I and 2.
Figs. 4 and 5 of the transverse sections according to AB and CD fig.3.
FIG. 6 is a sectional elevation in one of the elements of the fitting.
Fig. 7 a cutout in elevation in the other of the connection elements.
Referring to the figures above ,! represents one of the elements of the connector or female end provided with an eyelet 3 for the engagement of the cable, not shown. The other element 2 or male end also has at one of its ends an eyelet 4 for the same purpose as above.
Element 3¯ has a central rod 5 ending in

spring 11 acting by compression on the central rod 5 of element 2, so as to maintain it in the hooked position,
To separate the elements 1 and 2 it suffices to push on the element 3 and by compressing the spring 10 to rotate the element 2 with respect to the element 1 or vice versa so as to bring the parts 6 opposite the longitudinal grooves 7 which then easily brought by the relaxation of the spring 10 the easy release of the two elements 1 and 2 of the connector.
To cause the hooking, proceed in reverse order.
In order to ensure that the hooking is carried out perfectly, one or holes such as 9 will be distributed over the body 1. so as to reveal the part 6 in contact with the part 1, that is to say the bottom of the housing set back from the cur viligne groove.
As already indicated, the object of the invention lends itself. many variants of execution.
Thus the spring 11 may be disposed in the central -oartie 5 of the element
The shape of the elements 1 and 2 may be different, the eyelets 3 and 4. may face threaded parts either internally or externally
The elements 1 and 2 of the connection can be made in several pieces added to each other by any suitable means.
, The connection can be made in any size to withstand the expected stresses.
Instead of providing two grooves 7, we can even provide .davantage and consequently the parts or projections 6 lining the end of the central rod 5 of the element 2.
In summary, it is necessary to consider as coming within the scope of the present patent an automatic connector for wiring ropes or the like characterized by the following: /
