 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Method of joining metal and wood @
The present invention relates to a novel method for effectively fixing metal to wood, whatever the shape and the purpose of this combination.

   It is already known in the trade to use special glues or various adhesives, the purpose of which is to solidify two materials by simple gluing. The resistance of the latter therefore depends directly on the mechanical characteristics of the dried glue. In many applications, the strength of this bond is not sufficient.

   The present invention relates to a new pattern, which makes it possible to considerably increase this resistance, as well as the final qualities of the combination,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

The essential characteristic of the invention consists in interposing between the two materials a sheet of paper or of any textile material, offering great adhesion to wood and to metal respectively.

   The process is therefore extremely simple, and consists in first gluing, by any known means, such a sheet of adherent material either on the wood or on the metal, and, then, in gluing the second material on the. first covering of the adherent sheet. The assembly will advantageously be subjected to suitable pressure, with the effect of systematically excluding the air occluded between the adherent sheet and the bonded materials. this process can be applied for the bonding of parts of all shapes and of all uses, a particularly interesting application is the production of panels meeting many practical uses.

   R e v e n d i c atians.

   1.-A method of bonding metal to wood, characterized in that it consists in interposing between these materials a sheet of adherent material, respectively on each of them, this sheet can advantageously be paper, a textile material, etc ..

Claims (1)

2. A process according to claim 1, characterized in that it consists in first gluing the sheet of adherent material on one or the other material, and, then, in aolling the second material on the first covered with said adherent sheet, the assembly being able to be advantageously subjected to a certain pressure in order to exclude, as much as possible, the occluded air. 3. A process according to claims 1 and 2, charac- terized in that it consists in using as an adhesive material, between the metal and the wood, either paper or any textile material, in particular wood. jute. @ @
