PORTE-OUTIL POURMACHINES A USINER
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

TOOL HOLDER FOR MACHINING MACHINES
The object of the invention is a small section tool holder which has a very clear head avoiding the accumulation of chips, and inside which the tool is clamped by a part acting like a wedge and pushed by a screw. The tool can thus be made of high speed steel, square or round, of small section and is supported to the end inside the tool holder, the assembly having absolute rigidity and allowing easy disassembly and cleaning.
According to the invention, the tool holder is constituted by a body which forms the lower part and in relation to which
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
can slide the tool blocking part, terminated by a bevelled part which engages between the tool and the inclined head of the tool holder; this inclined head can be integral with the lower part or be fixed or articulated on it; the blocking part carries, towards the rear, a heel which rests on the lower part of the tool holder.
Some embodiments of the invention have been shown by way of examples in the accompanying drawing.
Figures 1, 2 and 3 show, in longitudinal section, in cross section and in plan, a tool holder according to the invention; FIGS. 4 and 5 show, in longitudinal section and from the front, an alternative embodiment; FIG. 6 shows, in longitudinal section, another form of construction similar to that shown in FIG. 4; and Figures 7 and 8 show, in longitudinal section and in elevation, two different assemblies for the clamping screw.
In the embodiment shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3, the tool holder consists of a lower part 1 and an inclined head 2 which is integral with part 1. A clamping screw 3 is used to push the workpiece. locking 4 and to engage its beveled front part 5 between the tool 6 and the head 2 of the tool holder. The part 4 carries, towards the rear, a heel 7 which bears on the lower part of the tool holder.
In the embodiment shown in Figures 4 and 5, the inclined head 8 of the tool holder is formed by a cylinder pcrtion capable of rotating inside lugs 9 integral with part 1, so that the part flat 10 of this part 8 can be oriented so as to fit exactly on the bevelled end 5 of the locking part 4.
FIG. 6 shows a similar arrangement, in which the head 11 can oscillate about an axis 12 integral with the lower part 1 of the tool holder.
Instead of screwing into the lower part 1 of the pcrte-tool, the clamping screw can be screwed into the locking part 4,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
as shown in FIG. 7. In this case, the screw 12 can bear at 13 on the lower part 1 and thus causes the part 4 to move relative to the part 1.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 8, the end of the screw 14 acts on the part 4, as in Figures 1 to 3, but this screw engages in a nut 15 articulated on the part 1, da tollo way it suffices to turn screw 14 slightly in the direction corresponding to loosening, then to tilt it to allow rapid release of the tool.
