<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

small three-wheeled motor vehicle with front steering wheel. The present invention relates to a small motor vehicle with a steered wheel at the front.
Small motor vehicles are already known, with three wheels, with a steering wheel at the front, where the engine is placed under the seat.
The present invention is characterized, as opposed to the aforementioned embodiment, in that the motor housed under the seat actuates the rear axle by a control arranged approximately in the middle, along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, this control being able to for example be carried out by means of chains.
Thanks to this new arrangement, an excessively simple construction is obtained for small motor vehicles with three wheels, particularly packaged as passenger vehicles. Preferably, the engine is placed between the two seats, which may possibly be very low, this
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
which makes it possible to produce a vehicle of very low construction.
In addition, a very simple central control of the rear wheels is obtained.
The object of the invention is also new in that provision has been made for the special use of intermediate shafts, in order to unite the control mechanism, the intermediate shafts and the engine in a single block.
The way in which the engine bed is designed, as well as the construction of the protective casing for the front wheel, are also new.
The invention can be carried out in different ways. It is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in several embodiments, namely:
Fig.l is a plan view of a vehicle with vertical engine.
Fig.2 is a plan view of a vehicle with a horizontal engine.
Fig. 3 is another mode of construction of the vehicle, with special intermediate shafts, and union of the control mechanism and intermediate shafts with the engine, in a single block.
Fig. 4 is a side view of the vehicle constituted as a passenger vehicle.
The three-wheel vehicle a: comprises as a frame, for example a longitudinal beam b, supporting at the front part the front steering wheel c, and being able to branch off under the seat into two branches! It and b2 carrying the rear axle d, on which the wheels are mounted rear e, The rear axle d can be configured as a swinging or independent axle, and is controlled by the differential f, under the floor surface g, and preferably between the two seats and inside the fork bi and b2 is located the engine h combined with the clutch control i.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The two seats can be lowered in relation to the engine. It is rational that the motor is protected by a removable cover k, through which the control levers pass 1. during operation, the motor can be easily accessed. The control levers are easily accessible next to the seats.
Engine h, with control mechanism i, housed between branches b1 and b2 of the beam junction, actuates rear axle d by a transmission device placed approximately in the middle, in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, for example by a chain m.
FIG. 2 represents the same embodiment, however with the difference that the vehicle has a horizontal engine. Here the motor is also accessible through the removable cover k.
The embodiment according to Figure 3 comprises a motor h, placed in the center, and behind which are the intermediate shafts n, actuated by the control mechanism, each rear wheel is actuated separately by these intermediate shafts s, by means of of strings o. In this case, the rear axle d can be steerable. On the other hand, the intermediate shafts and the mechanism should be mounted securely. The mechanism f, the transverse shafts n and the motor h, with control i here form a single block, easily dismantled in itself, possibly under the car.
In the present case, the engine and the control mechanism, housed between the seats, are made easily accessible by a removable cover k,
If necessary, the rear wheel can be driven by a longitudinal cardan shaft with control.
The drawing also shows that the front wheel .2. of the vehicle, the body of which can be conditioned as desired for the transport of people or goods, is independently steerable and has a spring suspension. The
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
same device Can also be applied to four-wheeled vehicles. For this purpose, the wheel. ±. (which can be, what is more rationally, joined directly to the brake drum p) oscillates around a vertical axis. 9., integral with an arm $, movable around a transverse axis r.
This arm is subjected to the action of the spring t of the chassis. ±, and has an accentuated projection s1, in the shape of an elbow, allowing a sufficient steering angle of the wheel c.
The steering of the front wheel. ±. is carried out in the known manner by the shaft v of the flywheel and by means of the transmission w.
The suspension of the wheel to the oscillating arm s, s1 is carried out with the spring t, as shown in the attached plan, as follows: an appendix s2 of the arm s is supported by the spring, so that the latter is pressed. down when the wheel swings up. Optionally, the spring can also rest on the arm and directly exert, from top to bottom, pressure on the arm s.
Figure 4 shows that the cover x covering the front wheel c, is part of the body a; the body may be in the form of a limousine or convertible, optionally in the body of an open car, or of a flat truck, with a platform. The interior of the hood x serves, through its part X1, as a footrest for the occupants, so that part of the space g1 reserved for travelers s encroaches on the hood x, x1.
A closed compartment x2, or which may optionally be closed, is provided in the cover x, above and behind the front wheel. ±. ; this compartment is used as luggage compartment, tools etc.
