<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

support for swivel panel.
The present invention relates to a support for a pivoting panel, more particularly but not limited to an advertising panel, for example to be placed in a display, this panel possibly having an interchangeable text or inscription.
The aim of the invention is to create an inexpensive assembly, with a very interesting advertising and (or) decorative effect, starting from easy raw materials. work, another aim is to create an assembly in which the advertising panel or the like (photograph, etc.) can be tilted by pivoting in its support, and can be mounted pivotably, in width or in height, in the same support.
From the advertising point of view, the invention also aims to create an assembly as mentioned, which comprises a mobile and erasable light source.
The panel, of any type and model, is held in a closed or open frame, preferably formed by folding,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
cutting, and folding of a simple dish, as will be explained in detail later. this frame is mounted in a second frame, via two pivots; these pivots screw into the sides of the outer frame, and go through the sides of the inner frame; they are obviously mounted in line, for example along the median or the axis of the panel. The two frames thus each comprise four holes, opposed in pairs, at the ends of two different pivot axes, for example of the two medians. The outer frame is also made of a simple flat folded, bent and curved according to various designs, this frame being open or closed.
A non-limiting example of embodiment of the object of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, in which. fig.l is a front view, fig.2 a section along II-II of fig.l, fig.3 e st a detail of a variant.
1 designates a panel, which, in the example, is intended for advertising. It is designed in any way desired, possibly with slides for receiving interchangeable letters or numbers. It has a rigid frame ?, surrounding a sheet of frosted glass or any other translucent material, on which the inscriptions, texts, drawings, etc. are supported. This panel is mounted fixed in a first frame 3 formed of a simple metal plate suitably folded and cut, without welding, riveting, stapling, etc. In another patent application filed today, various embodiments of such a framework have been described, and the present invention therefore does not address this point in itself, but only in combination.
In the example of FIG. 1, said frame does not extend over the entire perimeter of the panel 1; at the three vertices of the panel which it embraces, the flat forming this frame is bent at a right angle entering 4, and the metal is cut along a longitudinal slit over its entire part thus bent to allow the introduction
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of the panel 1 which is thus fixed in the frame by its three vertices. The ends of the plate forming the frame are curved towards the inside of the frame, along the branches 5 which are also split in the same way to constitute other fixing points of the panel.
We could also, as in fig. 3, make the frame completely closed, and determine the fixing points of the panel 1 by decorative tabs, such as, $ obtained by folding in a plane perpendicular to that of the plate forming the frame, strips cut from the dish, according to the process described in the patent mentioned above.
The frame 3 is itself mounted in a fixed frame 7 also made of a folded and bent flat like that of the frame; the two frames must not be identical in shape, elbows, etc., it is sufficient that the external frame 7 has four points of contact with the internal frame, these four points being located at the ends of two pivot axes which, in the example , coincide precisely with the two medians of panel 1. At these places, the two frames are each provided with a threaded hole 8-9 for receiving pivot screws 10.
In the example, the two screws 10 are passed through the holes located at the ends of the long median, and the panel 1, with its frame, is thus pivotable around this median, to make it pivotable around the small median, it just remove the two vi10 and insert them in the holes9. thus, inexpensively, an artistic assembly is produced in which the panel 1 can be pivoted about two axes perpendicular to one another.
In fig.l, the frame 7 has, at its three angles, elbow 11 which form support feet, and allowing the assembly to be supported either in height or in width, the pivot axis of the panel being modified according to the frame position 7.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In fig.3, the s feet 12 are attached to the frame 2. by screw 13; there are obviously only two feet which can be quickly and easily mounted on either side of the frame 7, the vi-holes being formed at the various places where the feet can be mounted.
It is expressly specified that the general shape of the two frames 3 and 2. can vary at will, and that the fixing points of the panel in the frame, and of the latter in the frame 7 can also vary, in position and shape without going out. within the scope of the invention.
As has been said, particularly for billboards, a light source is combined with the assembly.
In the example of fig.l, this source 16 is mounted at the end of an arm 14, the other end of which pivots on a bush 15 screwed into the frame 7, so as to be able to bring, for any position of the panel, the source 16 behind it for illumination by transparency, or in front of the panel for direct illumination. The sleeve 15 is preferably internally threaded, to form a receiving member for one of the screws 10 for joining the two frames 3 and 7. It is also possible to mount the sleeve 15 in the frame .2 and not in the frame 7.
The light source can be an electrode tube or any other luminescent tube; in this case, it will preferably be supported by a half-frame, pivotally mounted on the two pivots 8, this half-frame surrounding the internal frame .2 on the lower half. The light source can thus be brought behind panel 1, or in front (when the latter is a mirror, for example); during the day, it is brought back between the two frames3 and 7 where it produces a special artistic effect, whether it is lit or not.
