<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

The present invention relates to a crop lifting and reel device, which, placed above the usual divider, removes the crop prevents it from stuffing and distributes it evenly over the entire surface of the ta-

blier carrier; its purpose was to provide a device for controlling and mounting this divider on all existing used binders of the current type. The accompanying drawings show schematically to. title
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
by way of nonlimiting example one embodiment of this assembly.
FIG. I is a view of the lifting device which is mounted, on the one hand on the front plow of the machine and on the other hand on an articulated lever thus following the movement of the plow.
It also shows the controller by picking up movement at. elevator chain existing on all binders or. to an additional pinion meshing on the same chain.
FIG. 2 represents the articulated rear support lever and FIG. 3 the front support coulter.
Figure 4 is a sectional view intended to show the section of the screw constituting the new elevator itself.
FIG. 5 is a section through the assembly of the angle gear adapted to the pinion which takes the movement on the chain of the machine.
Figure 6 is a front view of this assembly.
FIG. 7 shows a spherical bearing for mounting the intermediate drive bar.
Figure 8 shows the mounting of two elevators on the same harvester carriage.
Until now there were various devices for clearing and distributing the crop on the apron of the harvesters, but they required extraordinarily complicated assemblies, in particular to follow the movement of the plow which separates the crop to be cut from the crop remained standing.
The invention which has for object practical results, obtained with very simple means is characterized, as can be seen in FIG. 1 and in FIG. 4, by a conical screw made of wood or metal, with constant pitch or pitch variable, the diameter of which increases from the front of the machine to the rear, this screw is shown in section in the figure which shows the section of the thread, the axis of the screw being des-
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
siné following A-B.
The threads of the screws have a triangular section very elongated towards the rear and is the shortest edge of the triangle which serves to transport the reool.
This conical screw is terminated at its rear end by a cone figured in 2, very open, which stops the crop at the point where what has been raised up to there must escape to fall on the apron of the machine.
This cone can be completed on its larger base by a sheet or a circular plate, not shown: for the convenience of reading the. drawing and which would definitively stop the few harvest parts which, by chance, would not have been knocked down on the apron by the cone.
This conical screw is held at the front by an oscillating bearing 3 mounted on the share 4, this share being itself supported by a metal bar 5 articulated at 6 on the frame of the machine and at 7 on the share itself.
At 8, an ovalized hole is provided in the share in order to be able to adjust the inclination of the latter with respect to the support bar 5.
In back. the axis carrying the screw is held in a bearing 9 in the body of which is formed a notch 10 allowing the passage of an axis II carried by art frame 12 oscillating on a lever 13.
This lever 13 is fixed by its base to its axis 14 integral with the frame of the machine, and on this lever can pivot the frame 12 which is braked in its movement by a spring 15 adjustable by means of a screw 16.
At the end of the axis of the elevator screw is wedged a socket nut 17 corresponding to another socket nut 18 carried by a second axis parallel to the frame of the machine and supported by means of bearings not shown for the convenience of reading from. drawing but carried by the frame.
This longitudinal axis 19 which serves to bring the movement taken on the elevator chain existing on all harvesters
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
binder, few%, preferably, be mounted at its end adjacent to the control of the elevator screw, on a ball bearing of the type shown in Figure 7.
This bearing consists of a bearing bearing a ball joint 21.
This ball joint is fixed by clamping using a bolt 22 in a bearing formed by a sole 23 fixed to the
EMI4.1
frame of the uoissonneuse-binder and two clamping claws 20 and 24.
Between these two cavity nuts. The movement is communicated by means of an endless chain 25 functioning in the manner of a crossed belt. Because the axes of the two wheels form an angle of approximately ninety degrees between them.
On the axis 19 carrying the lower wheel is wedged at the end a pair of bevel gears ,, the second bevel gear 26 being itself wedged on the axis dt a toothed pinion 27 mounted on the elevator chain existing on all the months-
EMI4.2
80nneasea-lieases.
An embodiment of the assembly of this bevel gear is given in Figures 5 and 6.
We see an axis 28, axis terminated by a threaded part which allows it to be bolted either directly or indirectly on the frame generally formed by an angle iron, this axis is terminated by a square head and carries both the toothed pinion 27 which takes its movement on the chain of the machine and the bevel gear 26 which transmits this movement to the gear 89 to which it is directly coupled, the pinion 27 and the gear 26 being made integral.
On the axis 19 is also mounted a fork 30 which surrounds the bevel gear 29 and is articulated to. means of a pin 31 on the square head of the support pin 28.
The invention also provides for the possibility of mounting
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
and ordering a second elevator screw without any other modification to the assembly of a single elevator, than the addition of a second pulley on the axis of the first screw and of a crossed chain to give the second screw elevator a movement in the opposite direction to that of the first as shown in figure 8.
The second elevator is mounted like the first, the front on an oscillating base that can follow all the movements of the ground, and at the rear on a fixed frame or. oscillating as shown in figure 8.
Thanks to this invention, the labor of clearing and resuming the harvest on the divider is completely eliminated, the weeds mixed with the harvest are torn out, the harvest is perfectly distributed on the apron, even if it this is the. cup of poured grain
The arrangement, on a harvester ,,, of two elevators of the same type as that which is the subject of.
main patent, allows the crop to be worked not only in the direction where it has been overturned, but in very inclined directions in this direction and on both sides of it
It goes without saying that the shapes, in particular those of the screw which can be made with attached ramps as well as with a pitch cut in the mass, the details, the materials, wood or metal, and arrangements can vary without going out. within the scope of the invention.
CLAIMS
10- Harvest elevator on combine harvester divider characterized by its construction constituted by a conical screw thinner towards the front, thicker towards the rear, by the addition at the rear end of a cone of larger diameter intended to stop the rise of the crop and to present it on the apron of the harvester.
