<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Pour mettre cet amortisseur hors d'action, l'amie coin- porte un petit levier 27' actionné de l'extérieur au moyen de la pièce 27,ce qui a pour résultat que,la dent a ne rencontrant plus la culasse,le fonctionnement de l'amortisseur est éliminé;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
'La--..,poignée 34 qui se trouve sur le côté droit de l' arme (voir fig.10 - 11) sert á ramener la classe en arrière , pour commencer le tir.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
Lorsque les pièces occupent la position indiquée en Fig.8, on voit que la dent 0 de la culasse, pendant le mouvement de re- cul de celle-ci,vient heurter la dent a de l'amortisseur,ce qui fait tourner celui-ci dans le sens de la flèche jusqu'à ce @ que l'action du ressort intérieur de 1,'amortisseur, en contrecar- rant l'action du coup,1' oblige à tourner en sens inverse du re- cul,soit celui qui est indique en Fig.9;

After numerous tests and several years of preparation of this type of submachine gun, the inventor succeeded in establishing an automatic weapon of great precision and above all of great solidity, this last condition being required to a very high degree of these weapons because of of the great efforts to which they are subjected and of the enormous heatings which they undergo.
In the weapon which is the subject of the invention and

description will follow, all the parts subjected to intense and prolonged work have been studied on the basis that the rupture of any part is fatal, both for the weapon and for the shooter, and This is why they must have shapes

having the maximum resistance and be made of suitable materials, their number must also be reduced to a minimum to avoid. mechanical complications which could result in damage, -
The weapon consists of a frame the end

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The butt 3 is fixed to the frame .. 1 by means of embrèvembents, as well as the underguard 4, the raised 5, the magazine 6 and other accessories whose description was used the same as for other weapons similar and therefore do not form part of the invention.
The weapon comprises a calasse 7 which slides inside the frame under the action of the combustion gases and the. spring 8 which pushes it forward,
For its part, the breech 7 internally comprises various parts constituting the most interesting main part of the weapon.
The striker 9, sticky behind by the spring 10 is struck by the hammer 11. This hammer 11 passes through another part 12 which is also located inside the cylinder head, and finally, in the upper part, and surpassing, is the fastener or bolt 13 which slides vertically and rests or slides on the planes of the parts 11 and 12 and, at the top, passes through a rectangular hole made in the cylinder head, to engage in recesses made in the inner-upper part of the frame.
The parts 11 and 12 can only move longitudinally independently of the movement of the breech and over a very short path. The lock. 13 only moves vertically, also independently of. movement of the breech, but he points out that these three parts, in addition to their reduced and independent movements, are subjected to the general recoil movement of the breech in order to form part of it.
The shutter 14 closes the rear orifice of the frame, orifice through which the parts which have just been described are introduced, and at the same time it serves as a support for the spring 8.
Towards the lower part of the frame 1 and in a longitudinal channel are arranged the following parts:
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The retaining member 15 of the store, a member which rotates on the axis 16 and which is clamped by the spring 17,
The trigger 18 oscillating on the axis 19 and acting, via the pawl 'the drive 80, on the trigger 21,
The trigger is pushed forward by the spring 22 '. The ratchet
20 is noted raised by the spring housed in the trigger,
The trigger 21 rotates on the axis 23 and is controlled by the spring 24.
The damper 25 also oscillates around an axis 26.
It is a hollow disc # inside which there is a spiral spring which gives it the tendency to turn always in one direction; the outside of this disc carries several projecting teeth arranged at different points of its generatrix so that the tooth a meets the cylinder head during the backward movement of the latter, and that the tooth b meets the front end of the trigger 21,
To put this shock absorber out of action, the friend wedge carries a small lever 27 'actuated from the outside by means of the part 27, which has the result that, the tooth a no longer meeting the cylinder head, the operation of the shock absorber is removed;
in this case, the weapon functions like a rifle, The weapon also includes a device which prevents the breech from advancing when the last cartridge has been fired - for this purpose it is provided with a double notched lever 28 oscillating on the axis 29 and actuated in its anterior part by the cartridge lifter 30, which has a projecting part 0 coming to meet the lever in its upward movement. The pivoting wedge 31 which oscillates on the axis 32 is inserted between the end posterior of the lever 28 and the pawl 20, the weapon also cohorts a safety member 33 to which one can donfier one of the three positions d, e, & f by means of an external operating button.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
'The - .., handle 34 which is on the right side of the weapon (see fig. 10 - 11) is used to bring the class back to start firing.
The operation is as follows: @
When we start to bring the calasse 7 back by means of the handle 34, all the parts of the weapon are in the position shown in Fig.1.
The latch 13 which is engaged by its upper part in the recesses g - h of the frame, is also driven backwards by the breech, but, because of what has been said above, its inclined planes slide on their seat and room 13 begins to descend and re-enter the port. At this time, other inclined planes j with which this part 13 is also provided in its lower part, and resting on other similar inclined planes k carried by the part 11, that is to say the hammer, push back the latter from a sufficient distance so that it is no longer in contact with the needle. striker.
In Fig. 1, the striker is in contact with the needle, while in Fig.2 and Fig, 3 the separation between these two parts is visible.
In this way one obtains the result that the cartridge introduced into the barrel can never be fired as a result of the pressure of the needle, because, for the latter to advance, the pressure of the firing pin, which cannot advance as long as the part 13 is not engaged in the recesses g and h of the frame; furthermore, some resistance is opposed to the recoil action, so as to retard movement of the armature pieces until the bullet has had time to exit the barrel.
The guide piece 12 also carries the inclined planes m directed in the opposite direction to those which have already been described and in contact with other inclined planes door by the latch piece 13, these planes having the aim of help this last
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
nth part to be lifted when the breech returns to its seat; it also carries a projection n directed towards the front of the breech and serving to delay the latter's recoil.
As soon as the bolt 15 is released the breech slides backwards and arrives # the extract of its stroke, as indicated
Fig. 2) being held there by the trigger 21. to pull, we press on the trigger 18, the pawl 20 of which lowers the trigger 21 and thus releases the cylinder head which, driven by the spring 8, is thrown. violently forward, pushing in front of her a cartridge which the magazine offers her and which is introduced into the barrel.
At the moment when the breech meets the thunder of the cannon, the part 13 is already introduced into the recesses described above, and the striker 11 strikes the needle 9 under the action of the thrust of the spring 8 and consequently the inertia of the moving parts, which causes the cartridge charge to ignite.
The action of the combustion gases produces the successive setbacks, series of operations similar to the one just described repeating themselves then,
As it has just been described, the weapon functions like a rifle, that is to say, you have to pull the trigger every time you want to fire a shot; for this, the shock absorber must be out of action.
For the case of delayed shots operation, the weapon is arranged according to the following combination:
To use the weapon for slow firing, it suffices to put the shock absorber 25 into action by means of the small lever 37, by acting # this effect from the outside on its operating button; these parts are then in the position shown in FIG. 8.
When the weapon functions like a rifle, these parts are in the position indexed in Fig. 9 and in which the tooth a remains out of reach of the breech 7, so as not to prevent the movement of this one,
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
When the parts occupy the position indicated in Fig. 8, it can be seen that tooth 0 of the cylinder head, during the reverse movement of the latter, strikes tooth a of the shock absorber, causing it to rotate. this in the direction of the arrow until the action of the internal spring of the shock absorber, countering the action of the blow, forces it to turn in the opposite direction of the reverse, that is to say that which is indicated in Fig.9;
and when the tooth b of the shock absorber meets the posterior end of the trigger 21, the shock produced on the latter causes the start of the shot, The successive shots start in the same way, their departure being delayed until that the shock absorber has performed the two turns indicated, to obtain this result it is sufficient to press the trigger a first time,
To use the weapon as a machine gun, the action of the shock absorber 25 is suppressed by means of the button already mentioned and the trigger is pressed continuously, the safety button being in position e in Fig.3. It will be noted that the trigger 21 being continuously lowered,
it cannot retain the breech in any of its positions, and by striking thunder, the breech shoots the cartridges by the impulse and inertia of the moving parts,
When the last cartridge is fired, and this in all cases, the notched lever 28 is raised by its end under the action of the part 30; its opposite end therefore descends and causes part 31 to tilt which, in turn, lowers the pawl 20 of the trigger thus releasing the trigger 21 which, under the action of the spring 24, retains the cylinder head in its last retracted position .
To prevent any operation of the weapon, the safety member is placed in position "f" (Fig. 12); since the trigger cannot then act on the trigger, it cannot actuate the weapon.
