" PERFECTIONNE1:ENTS AUX DISPOSITIFS HTDR..UJLIQ,OES DE TùLAis- MISSION DE MOUVEMENT "
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
La figure 6 estun profil correspondant à la figure 5.
La.figure 7 montre le dispositif à cliquet et rochet reliant le récupérateur au bâti du dispositif;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>
1 .- de désolidariser le tambour 6, le plateau 17 et le disque 23 ;

"PERFECTIONNE1: ENTS TO HTDR ... UJLIQ DEVICES, MOVEMENT TRANSMISSION OES"
Hydraulic motion transmission devices comprising a pump, a turbine and at least one recuperator arranged between the turbine and the pump have certain drawbacks, particularly in the case of operation in hydraulic coupling where it is impossible to avoid a slip between the turbine. and the pump.
The Demandaur has already considered, in order to partially remedy this drawback, to release
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
automatically or at will the recuperator when the resistive torque on the turbine becomes equal to the motor torque on the pump so that the recuperator can be driven in the same direction and at the same speed as the turbine and the pump.
however, there is still a certain slip (of the order of 3 to 4%) between the turbine and the pump because the recuperator forms a screen on the passage of the fluid,
The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback and, to this end, it is characterized in particular in that the turbine and the pump are mechanically and automatically joined together when the resistive torque (torque on the turbine) is equal to the engine torque ( torque on the pump) i.e. when the hydraulic reduction period is over.
In other words, according to the invention, the rigid coupling is made between the turbine and the pump when the motor torque reaches the value for which the motor possi-of its maximum efficiency, that is to say for a determined speed of this. motor and consequently the pump.
Such a mechanical connection can obviously be automatically sluggish using any suitable electrical, electromagnetic, mechanical or other means, themselves controlled from either the speed of the turbine, or preferably the speed of the pump, or couples.
An embodiment, which for the moment seems advantageous, is characterized in that the connection between the turbine and the pump is obtained by wedges movable under the effect of centrifugal force in antagonism with elastic return devices. suitably calibrated, so that the connection between the pump and the turbine takes place for a determined pump speed corresponding, as explained above, to the equality between the motor torque on the pump and the resistive torque on the turbine,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
that is to say when the period of operation in hydraulic reduction is over.
So as to facilitate unsticking, the wedges are guided by any suitable means so that their displacement occurs in a direction inclined to the corresponding radial direction in the direction of rotation common to the turbine and to the pump and at an angle in principle equal to the friction angle.
EMI3.1
The invention oompBendégalement within its framework a device making it possible to achieve at will either the direct forward gear (torque on the driving shaft equal to the torque on the driven shaft), or the geared forward gear, or the reverse gear.
The present invention also extends to a certain number of particular points which will appear in the following text made with reference to the appended drawing, given by way of example only, in which:
FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section of a hydraulic device according to the invention.
FIG. 2 is a partial right-hand profile, the shell of the pump being removed to better show the centrifugal tenpositif for mechanical attachment between the turbine and the pump.
FIG. 3 is a cross section along several offset planes showing more specifically the mode of actuation of the movable rings and the device for controlling the axial displacement of the cams.
FIG. 4 is a cross section showing more specifically the: device for actuating the movable collar controlling the securing of the turbine and the driven shaft.
Figure 5 is a section taken along the line V-V of Figures 3 and 4 showing the various control cams.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Figure 6 is a profile corresponding to Figure 5.
La.figure 7 shows the ratchet and ratchet device connecting the recuperator to the frame of the device;
FIG. 8 is a schematic detail view, on a larger scale,: .. ontrant the locking device of one of the movable rings which are angularly secured to the planetary gears.
The hydraulic movement transmission device used is composed of a pump 1 integral with a driving shaft 2, a turbine 3 arranged co-axially with the pump 1 and a ring 4 provided with blades and serving as a recuperator when using a centrifugal pump or only as a steering ring when using a helical pump and impeller. The ring 4, the turbine 3 and the pump 1 are arranged so as to form a closed circuit for the fluid contained inside the device *
The recovery ring 4 is connected to the frame 36 by means of a movement selector such that it allows the rotation of the ring 4 only in the direction of rotation of the turbine 3 and of the pump 1.
This movement selector is made up of balanced latches 82, articulated around axes 83 integral with the shell of the ring 4, which engage with the teeth of a ratchet 84 made at the periphery of a drum 85 secured to it. with a socket 86 itself fixed to the frame 36 *
The fluid inside the hydraulic device is pressurized by means of a gear pump, one of the pinions 87 of which is keyed to a sleeve 88 integral with the shell of the pump 1. The other pinion 89 of the gear pump is mounted idle on a shaft 90 fixed to the casing 91 of the pump which is itself fixed to the frame 36 of the device.
Fluid losses are collected in a down-
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
te 92 from where they return through a conduit 93 to the supply tank.
On the shell of the pump 1 are mounted jaws 80 (three in number for example) angularly offset by 120 and which are arranged opposite the shell of the turbine 3 so as to come, by a central displacement. - trifuge, wedge this shell and thus mechanically secure the pump 1 and the turbine 3. The three jaws 80 are movable in directions inclined on the corresponding radius and in the direction of rotation by an angle equal to the angle of 1'Ó of friction. The movement of these jaws 80 is guided by any suitable means.
The jaws 80 are joined together by springs 81 suitably calibrated so that the centrifugal displacement of the ciborium
80 has link, for a determined speed of rotation, of the pump 1 which will be that for which the motor torque on the pump is equal to the resistive torque on the turbine, that is to say when the operation in hydraulic gear reduction is finished: This speed will preferably be chosen equal to the engine speed, that is to say to that for which the engine has optimum efficiency.
Qn could obviously be used, without departing from the scope of the invention, any other mode of connection, ion controlled electrically, electro-magnetically, mechanically or pneumatically from either the speed of the pump or the turbine, or couples.
The turbine 3 is keyed at one end of an intermediate shaft 5, the other end of which is integral with one of the flanges 7 of a sealed drum. 6. Groups of three planet gears 8, 9 and 10 integral with each other are mounted idle on pins 11 fixed to the flanges
7 of drum 6. In what follows, only one of these groups of pinions will be described, it being understood that only
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
In practice, there are several similar groups of inons distributed to the spiripheria of the sambur
The diameters of the pins 8, 9, 10, are chosen anyway suitable to allow, as will be explained later, either the: .-. Front arch with a suitable reduction, or the reverse gear of the driven shaft .
Obviously the in could have more than three gears in each group. If, for example, it was desired to obtain two reductions in forward gear and one in reverse gear, it would suffice to use four suitable pinions, any of which could be immobilized at will in a manner analogous to that which will be described below.
The pinion 8 meshes with a pinion 12 integral with the end of a driven shaft 13 carrying at its other end a suitable coupling device 14. The pinion
9 meshes with a pinion 15 integral with a bush 16 concentric with the shaft 13 and on which the hub 18 of a plate 17 is keyed, the said plate being able however to move longitudinally on this bush 16.
The plate 17 comprises at its periphery and on each of its faces a certain number of dircular grooves (two in the example shown), of trapezoidal shape.
It is obvious that one could have any number of similar grooves. The flange 7 of the drum 6 located opposite the plate 17 comprises two circular projections 21 of shape and diameter corresponding to those of the grooves 19. Two circular projections 22 corresponding to the grooves 20 are made towards the periphery of a disc 23 whose hub is fixed anularly on a bush 24 but can move axially with respect to the latter. The disc 23 has at its periphery a toothing 25 which engages with a corresponding internal toothing made on a disc 26.
Plate 17 has a circular crown
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
27 at the end of which is made an external toothing 28 which engages with a corresponding internal toothing made on a disc 29.
The plate 17 is subjected to the action of two elastic members 30 and 31 bearing, on the one hand, on the canvas of the plate 17 and, on the other hand, on the disc 23 and the flange 7 of the drum 6 respectively. These two elastic members 30 and 31 tend to move the disc 23 and the drum 6 away from each other and consequently to disengage the projections 21 and 22 from the grooves 20 and 19 respectively and therefore to free the plate 17. On the hub 18 of the plate 17 is fixed the inner ring of a ball rolling 52, the outer ring of which is fixed in the bore of a circular ring 32 movable in rotation and axially as will be explained below.
It can be seen that the crown 32 being moved in the direction of the arrow 33 in antagonism with the springs or the like 30 and 31 will cause the engagement of the projections 21 and 22 and the grooves 20 and 19 respectively and consequently the securing of the drum 6 , of the plate 17, of the disc 23 and of the discs 26 and 29 respectively secured to the disc 23 and the drum 6. There is thus complete securing between the intermediate shaft 5 and the driven shaft 13.
The axial displacement of the crown 32 is obtained from an angular displacement of this crown. For this purpose, the crown 32 is connected by ball joint rods.
34 normally inclined to a circular crown 35 rigidly fixed to the frame 36 of the device. It will easily be understood that a rotation of the crown 32 relative to the fixed crown 35 will cause, as a result of the variation in inclination of the connecting rods 34, an axial displacement of the crown 32 in one direction or the other following the direction of rotation.

The angular displacement of the crown 32 is obtained by means of a cam 39 of suitable profile which acts on a roller 37 mounted on a flange 38 integral with the movable ring 33. The roller 37 is maintained in contact with the cam 39 under the the action of a spring 40 bearing on the other hand on a cap 41 mounted on the frame 36 by means of a threaded rod µ lug 42 and nuts 43 allowing the tension to be adjusted.
The cam: 39 for actuating the crown 33 is wedged on a shaft 44 journaled in bearings 45 and 46 of the frame 36. This shaft comprises, at its free end, a ratchet 47, the number of teeth of which depends on the profile of the cam so that a rotation of the shaft 44 corresponding to a tooth of the ratchet causes a rotation for the cam causing the passage from one of the highest points to one of the lowest points of the cam or vice versa and consequently a maximum axial displacement of the ring 33. The rotational drive of the shaft 44 carrying the ratchet 47 is obtained by means of a lever 48 comprising a pawl 49 held in engagement with the teeth of the ratchet 47 to the using a spring or the like 50 (Figure 6).
In this way, it can be seen that an alternating movement of the lever 48 obtained by any suitable means (by pedal for example) will cause a continuous rotation of the shaft 44 of strictly determined amplitude for each outward and return stroke of the lever 48, the outward travel being in the direction of arrow 51 was the only driving force.
We therefore 7oit that a series of movements of the lever 48 will successively cause the engagement of the plate 17 with the drum 6 and the disc 23 and the separation of these three members.
The discs 26 and 29, which are preferably made of bronze or the like and which are angularly secured.
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
rement respectively with the plate 17 and with the disc 23, can be immobilized angularly using the device described below.
The outer faces of the discs 26 and 29 are located respectively opposite circular projections 53 and 54 secured angularly and axially with the frame 36 and one of which may have come from the foundry with the frame.
Between the discs 26 and 29 are arranged * three circular rings 55, 56 and 57. The middle ring 56 is secured angularly by means of a screw 68 and axially by its arrangement in a housing 69 with the frame 36 of the device, while the two lateral rings 55 and 57 can turn and move laterally so as to wedge the discs 29 and 26 respectively against the projections 54 and 53 and immobilize them. For this purpose, the center ring 56 comprises, on each of its lateral faces, a certain number of ramps 58. Opposite these ramps and on each of the lateral rings 55 and 57, identical ramps 59 are formed. Between these ramps are arranged. balls 60 so that rotation in the proper direction of the side rings causes either the jamming of the discs or their release.
The control of the rotation of the side rings 55 and 57 is obtained respectively from the identical cams 61 and 62 offset by an angle such that one of the cams is at one of its highest points while the other is at one of its lowest points opposite the respective ring rotation control members.
The two cams 61 and -62 are integral and are keyed to the shaft 44 but can move axially on this shaft as will be explained later. The profile of the cams 61 and 62 corresponds to the profile of the cam 39 that is
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
that is to say that these cams have as many highest points as the cam 39 and that the highest and lowest points of the various cams are located opposite each other.
Each of the cams 61 and 62 controls the corresponding ring 55 and 57 by means of a push rod 63 which abuts at its other end on a projection 64 made on the ring. Another push rod 65 rests on the other face of the projection 64 and is subjected to the action of a spring 66 which acts to apply the push rod 63 on the cam., This spring 66 being supported by another starts on a blind threaded bush 67 screwed into a corresponding thread of the frame 36.
In the various ring control devices described above, the locking of the controls controlled by the cams is obtained under the influence of the springs, that is to say when the cam is in a position corresponding to one of the points the lowest while the release of the member is achieved by the action of the corresponding cam in antagonism to the action of the spring. Figure 8 shows schematically the principle of blocking one of the discs 26.
The two cams 61 and 62 can be put out of action by a lateral displacement obtained by means of an eccentric finger 68 in a gorga 69 made at the end of the bush integral with the cams 61 and 62. The finger 68 is manti on a plate 70 integral with an axis 71 at the other end of which is a keyway a throat pulley 72 whose rotation is controlled by any suitable means (bowdan cable 73 for example) and whose memarquablas positions (c'ast-â- READ those corresponding to the mias in or hor of action of cams 61 and 62) determined by the engagement of a ball 74,
disposed in a laga ent 77 of the pulley and reponssés by a spring 75, in suitable cavities 75 made on the part 77 serving as pa-

link to the axis 71 and which is attached to the frame 36 of the device using screws 78 or the like.
Catres 61 and 62 can therefore take three positions on axis 44, namely: position corresponding to gear reduction, neutral position in which the two cams are out of action and position corresponding to reverse gear. . The profile of the cams 61 and 62 is such that when the cam 39 is at one of its low points, that is to say when there is direct coupling of the turbine and the driven shaft, the two cams 61 and 62, which are in neutral, can be moved to be brought into the gear reduction or rear arch position, but are in a position in which they have no effect.
The operation of the device according to the invention is as follows:
When the pump 1 is driven by the driving shaft 2, the fluid inside the hydraulic circuit moves along arrow 94 and drives the turbine 3 in rotation.
When this reaches a speed equal to that of pump 1, i.e. when the motor torque on the pump is equal to the resistive torque on the turbine, the recuperator is released automatically and is driven in the same direction as the turbine 3 and pump 1. At the same time, the wedges 80 come, under the effect of the centifuge stuffing, mechanically secure the turbine 3 and the pump 1, thus preventing any sliding between these two members. If the speed of the turbine 3 decreases, the separation takes place and the recuperator is immobilized by the pawls 82 coming into engagement with the teeth of the ratchet 84.
To run in direct coupling of the driven shaft 13 with the turbine 3, the user begins by bringing the cams
<Desc / Clms Page number 12>
61 and 62 out of action by means of the pulley 73 for actuating the eccentric finger. It then secures the drum 6, the water piaf 17 and the disc 23 by angularly displacing the movable c-uronne 32 by means of the cam 39 actuated from the oscillating lever 48 itself controlled by any suitable means (pedal for example).
To obtain the reduction, the user axially moves the cams 61 and 62 to bring them into the position corresponding to this :: arch, then he actuates the lever 43 again, which has the effect of:
1 .- to separate the drum 6, the plate 17 and the disc 23;
2 .- rotate the cams and lock the disc integral with the planetary pinion corresponding to reverse gear.
The user, wanting to switch to reverse gear, being

in a5ultiplication, first act on lever 48, THEN it cams 61 and 62 in the position corresponding to reverse gear and again acts on lever 48.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and represented above but extends to ALL THOSE implementing the characteristics stated PLUS above and meeting the aim pursued.
