<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Emptying device and capping means for bottles, flasks, etc.
The present invention relates in the main order to a device for emptying and destroying the stopper device for bottles, flasks, etc., containing for example liquids under pressure, of the kind in which use is made of a closure capsule. It also relates to special plugging means suitable for the use of the emptying device and applicable to existing plugs.
Its aim is to create a device that allows intermittent emptying by using existing capsules or by making as few modifications as possible. It also aims to allow the device to be used for emptying all types of existing bottles,
With a view to achieving this aim, the emptying device, object of the invention, is essentially characterized by the cooperation with a capsule, a stopper or a flask, means allowing the destruction of the stopper device, the emptying device being able to be part of the destruction device, or be separate from it. and act separately or simultaneously.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
This destruction is obtained in general by a piercing device disposed in a second stopper fixed to the capsule by appropriate means, for example, by a nut in two parts oscillating one on top of the other and having claws taking under the edge of the = capsule. The drilling system generally consists of a rod which usually moves vertically in this second stopper and which is actuated by any suitable means and for example by a removable key.
The closure device is preferably constituted by a plug pierced with a channel and provided with a cap.
The attached drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention.
In this drawing, 1 designates the neck of a bottle which
1 is provided with a stopper 2 pierced with a channel 3, and 3 a seal interposed between the neck of the bottle and the stopper 2. On this stopper is applied possibly with the interposition of a ring or a cork plate 4 a cap 5. Above the cap 5 is a cap 7 which is fixed to the cap 2 by means of a conical nut 8 composed of two parts which oscillate around it axes 9 forming hinges, L ' nut carries a seal 6 which is placed between the cap 7 and the cap 5. The introduction by screwing of a cap 7 having a suitable pitch has the effect of opening the nut 8 and bringing the claws 10 which tighten together under the capsule 5.
The stopper 7 has a vertical channel 11 and a lateral drain channel 12. Along the axis of the stopper 7 can also move a rod 13 which provides at its base a conical part 14 and which ends in a point 15. L The upper end of the rod 13 is threaded and on this threaded part 16 takes a nut 17 provided with a washer 18 to which is fi a spring 19 which surrounds the rod 13 and which is fixed on the other hand to a washer 20 located on a seal 21 located in a cavity 22 of the solid part of the plug 7. On the other part
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
upper of the rod 13 acts a removable key 23 taking on a pin 24, or on a pin 25. Between the faces of the conical part 14 and the stopper 7 is a seal 26.
As will be appreciated, if it is assumed that the bottle is provided with a stopper 2 provided with a cap 5 and if this bottle must be opened and then emptied, the nut 8 is first of all laced with so that the seal 6 comes to rest on the capsule 5; while this nut is held by hand for example, the plug 7 is screwed into the nut 8 until it comes to rest on the seal 6.
The introduction of this stopper has the effect of causing the part of the nut coming into contact with this stopper to open and the claws 10 tightening under the edge of the capsule 5.
To pierce the capsule, a key 23 is placed in the position indicated in phantom so that the eyelet 27 takes around the axis 25. By acting on this key with a sharp blow, we obtain the rod can easily be moved vertically) 1. and the piercing of the capsule 5..1 For this purpose, the capsule is generally thinned in the center or is prepared in one or more pieces. This thinning may for example have the shape of a swabbed cross.
After this drilling, the key 23 is again placed, but this time in the position indicated in solid lines so that the eyelet 27 engages around the axis 24, the bottle is tilted until that the liquid covers the inlet of the channel 21, the content can flow through the channels 11 and 12 under the effect of the pressure of the liquid; when it is desired to stop the flow of the liquid, it suffices to release the key, the rod 11 then moves from bottom to top and is returned to its original position under the action of the spring 19, the seal 26 applies on the cap. so as to prevent the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
liquid outlet.
The arrangement described therefore lends itself not only to a piercing of the cap in order to allow the opening of the bottle but also to an intermittent flow of the liquid, the seal 26 having to be considered as a secondary seal preventing the outflow of the liquid after each. partial emptying,
It goes without saying that the details of embodiment described have been given only by way of example and that numerous modifications must be made.
The capsule 5 may moreover have any shape and may or may not be provided with a cork seal in a plate or ring or with any other member forming a seal.
The system for hooking up the emptying apparatus to the capsule or to the bottle constituted by the claws 10 can also be modified; these claws can be replaced by claws of any type.
The seals 6 and 26 can also be modified in their shapes and their positions can also be changed.
The drilling system or 3'opening by knockout by means of 3'uns adequate tip can also be replaced by a system by wear by means of bits, etc ... of all shapes, the movement of these devices being obtained by screwing or otherwise.
It is obvious that drilling can take place at the time of placement of the device.
The drain system which in the described embodiment forms part of the drilling system and which acts simultaneously can be separated and / or act separately.
It is also possible to use taps of any type with any controls.
This command can take place with a removable key or not and also otherwise than by a key.
