<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Method and device for using heat from condensation products.
For the use of the heat from the condensing products obtained in steam heating systems, it has hitherto been the rule to first relax the condensed water, then to pass it through a chamber. - heat exchanger, at the temperature corresponding to the pressure obtained after expansion. The purpose of pre-expansion of the condensation water is to avoid knocks and shocks which otherwise. could occur and damage the heat exchanger. But the very serious drawback of this method is that the heat exchange part is lost.

more valuable of the temperature difference between the condensed water and the product to be heated.
The present invention relates to a method and to a device for using the heat of the condensed water produced in heating installations, this method. and this device making it possible to use this water in a heat exchanger without prior expansion and thus obtain a better use of the calories contained in the water during its condensation, while obtaining ¯ for the liquid to be heated temperatures higher than those obtained so far.
The invention is based on the following principle: that any expansion of the condensation water in the heat exchanger is prevented, this expansion giving rise to disturbances in the circulation of water, Condensation does not expand until it has passed through the heat exchanger, using a regulator located at the point where the condensation water leaves the heat exchanger. It is preferable that the regulator is subjected to the action of the liquid level in the collecting vessel, via the float of the condensing water collecting vessel for example; There is also an advantage in placing the vessel in which the cooled condensate water exiting the heat exchanger accumulates before being relaxed, near the collecting vessel, separating them only by a simple partition.
In the accompanying drawing is shown in sectional view by way of non-limiting example an embodiment of the subject of the invention.
For the collecting vessel 1, a type of vessel provided with a closed float Sch has been shown. However, nothing prevents the use of an open float vessel. It is the same for the shutter (not shown in the drawing), whether it is a float or a valve, it does not matter. Condensation water enters the collector vessel through pipe S1, exits through pipe S2 to enter the exchanger

of heat A, which it crosses in the direction of the arrow, leaving calories there, and it comes out cold, but still under pressure. Via tubing S3 it passes into receptacle II, then is relaxed by passing through regulator 0, (into which it enters through the shutter controlled in this
4 example by the float Sch), and exits by the pipe S.
The collecting vessel I is separated from the vessel II only by the partition W, which is crossed at D by the lever G by which the float controls the regulator. When the quantity of condensed water coming out decreases and therefore its level drops in cavity I, the float also drops and, by acting on shutter 0, it throttles the outlet of the condensation water contained in the cavity II. In cavity I the pressure is approximately equal to that existing in the heating installation from which the condensed water comes. In cavity II the pressure is a little lower, the difference corresponding to the pressure drop of the condensed water as it passes through the heat exchanger.
It follows that the pressures which reign in the cavities I and II differ very little between them, even for large quantities of condensation water, a simple seal is sufficient for the passage of the connecting rod through the partition and it is not necessary. it is not necessary in this case to use a special cable gland.
