DISPOSITIF D'EBARBAGE POUR BATTEUSES.
Il est connu dans les machines à battre ou batteuses, pour obtenir un bon ébarbage des graines par la batteuse de . disposer derrière le contre-batteur une tôle épousant les formes de celui-ci et destinée à empêcher les grains battus de tomber entre les lattes du contre-batteur.Tous les grains doivent ensuite traverser l'espace total compris entre le tambour et le contre-batteur et ils sont ainsi soumis sur une longue distance au frottement de toutes les lattes du contre- batteur en même temps qu'aux chocs produits par les battes du batteur.Grâce à cette disposition,une partie des barbes est déjà séparée des graines d'orge et graines similaires et on peut se passer d'un ébarbeur comme organe spécial de la machine .
Ce dispositif n'a cependant pas donné satisfaction, parce que le frottement provoqué par les lattes du contre- batteur ne suffit pas pour obtenir une séparation suffisamment énergique de tous les grains, lorsque l'orge est relativement résistante on humide.
Le nouveau dispositif,faisant l'objet de cette invention,

est essentiellement constitué par une tôle de courbure corres- pondant au rayon du contre-batteur et recouverte sur toute sa surface par un tissu en fil d'acier connu tel qu'il est géné- ralement utilisé dans le corps des ébarbeurs actuels.Cette tôle est posée sur la face interne du contre-batteur,soit donc face au tambour du batteur.
Ce dispositif permet d'obtenir dans l'espace compris entre le tambour et le contre-batteur un ébarbage complètement équivalent à celui que l'on obtiendrait avec un ébarbeur dis- tinat,DanB le tissu rugueux et à arêtes vives viennent se fixer les barbes comme dans un ébarbeur et elles sont enlevées par les battes du tambour.Le rendement de cet appareil est ex- oellent.
Le dessin annexé à ce mémoire montre à titre d'exemple une coupe transversale schématique du contre-batteur perfection- né, combiné à un batteur de construction connue.

However, this device has not given satisfaction, because the friction caused by the battens of the concave is not sufficient to obtain a sufficiently energetic separation of all the grains, when the barley is relatively strong or wet.
The new device, which is the subject of this invention,

is essentially formed by a sheet of curvature corresponding to the radius of the concave and covered over its entire surface by a fabric of known steel wire such as is generally used in the body of current deburring machines. is placed on the internal face of the concave, i.e. facing the drum of the drummer.
This device makes it possible to obtain in the space between the drum and the concave a trimming completely equivalent to that which would be obtained with a distinat deburrer, DanB the rough fabric and with sharp edges come to fix the barbs as in a deburrer and they are removed by the drum beats. The performance of this machine is excellent.
The drawing appended to this specification shows by way of example a schematic cross-section of the improved concave, combined with a threshing machine of known construction.
