<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

NEW REPEAT RIFLE CONTROLLED BY ROD.
The present invention relates to a repeating rifle with a magazine in the rocker and firing the bullet cartridge.
This repeating rifle differs from the weapons known from oe gerre by its lock mechanism specially designed to reduce the number of parts to a minimum and by its cocking and closing mode achieved by means of a rod placed under barrel and actuated by the shooter.
The drawing appended to this specification shows by way of example one embodiment of the invention.
Fig.I is a partial section of the weapon, the bolt being brought back after firing, the hammer cocked and safe.
Fig.2 is a similar section showing the position of the organs directly after firing.
Fig.3 is a section through A-B of Fig.I.
Fig.4 is a section through C-D of Fig.2.
Fig.5 is a longitudinal and front view of the lock.
Fig.6 shows two views of the ejector, and Fig.7 also shows two views of the extractor.
In the cylinder head box I, in which the casing is screwed

no 2, the hollow cylinder 3 containing the latch 4 moves with the striker 5 subjected to the action of its spring 5a. The latch 4 has two diametric fins 4a at the front (Fig. 5) and it is drilled laterally with a short helical groove 4b corresponding to a horizontal groove 3a provided in cylinder 5. This is provided with lugs 3b guided in guides Ia of the cylinder head box 1 and pierced with notches intended to receive the extractor 6 and the elector 7.
Into the corresponding grooves 3a and 4b simultaneously penetrates a lug 8a (fig. 4) carried by a control rod 8 firstly along a wall of the cartridge magazine 9 locked in the rocker by the stopper 9a, then a tube 10 placed under the barrel 2. The rod 8 is formed of two parts held together by a spring plunger II and it ends with a bracket 8b surrounding the tube 10 and serving as a support for a spring I2 , which surrounds the latter and on the other hand presses against a ring 13 integral with the tube 10, which is screwed at one end into the rocker and is closed at the other end by a plug 14 screwed into a ring 15 attached to the barrel.
On the other hand the plate mechanism comprises the hammer 16 pivoting at 17 on the lever and subjected to the action of a spring 18, one of the branches of which acts on an oscillating part 19 integral with the hammer I6, and of which the another branch presses on the trigger 30 pivoting at 21 and provided with a spout 22 which, when armed, clings to the nose 23 of the hammer. On the trigger 20 can oscillate a finger 24 pressed by a spring 25, taking support on the trigger against a shoulder 26 which surmounts the trigger 27 at the rear of a plateur 28 provided at the top of an inclined portion 29. The trigger pivots at 30 and is adjustable by means of a screw pressure 31.
Under these conditions, starting from the position of the organs shown in Fig. 2, that is to say directly after firing, - to rearm and load the weapon, the shooter draws the stirrup 8b of the rod 8 towards him. compressing the spring 13.When

moving rearwardly, the rod 8 acts, in a known manner, by its lug 8a on the helical groove 4b of the lock 4 and forces the latter to turn on itself, so that the fins 4a, which s' pressed against the rear wall of the enlarged chamber Ia of the breech boot and thus kept the weapon closed,
pivot a quarter of a turn until they correspond in the same horizontal plane with the ears 3b of the hollow cylinder 3. At this moment the lug 8a has reached both the rear walls of the grooves 4b of the lock and 3a of the cylinder 3 which had remained stationary, and by 'continuing its rearward movement, it simultaneously drives the lock and its cylinder and thus causes the tilting of the hammer 16, which penetrated into a vertical notch of the cylinder 3.A Following this tilting, the beak 22 of the gaohette 20 hooked the nose 23 of the hammer which is thus in the armed position, while the hammer 5 is brought back by its spring 5a and slightly projection in the notch of the cylinder 3. The hammer 16 can be locked in this position by the appropriate axis 32 of a safety lever of known type.
In this rearward movement of the latch and its cylinder, the extractor 6 brought the fired cartridge above the magazine 9 and at the scheduled time the ejeotor expelled the cartridge through the window provided in the cartridge. breech box; this allowed a cartridge from the magazine to enter the box under the action of spring 33. Subsequently, when the shooter releases the control rod 8, it is returned to the front by its spring 12 and its lug 8a abutting soon oontre the front part of the groove 3a of the cylinder 3 will drive the latter forward with the latch 4, which will push the car in front of it.
new key to introduce it into barrel 2.A @ given moment the lug 8a will come into contact with the curved part of the groove 4b of the bolt and by continuing its movement it will turn the bolt on itself and its fins 4a return to the position shown in Fig. 2. The rifle is cocked and closed.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
If you now press the trigger 37, its plateure 28 will lift the finger 34 of the trigger 20, which will be forced to pivot around its axis 21, so that its beo 32 will release the hammer 16, which, under the action of its spring 18, will fall back on the firing pin 5 and will cause the firing. The trigger by pivoting also acted by its shoulder 26 on the finger 24 of the trigger and made it pivot and slide on the inclined plane 29, mais.lors the next arming the finger 24 goes up this inclined plane and resumes its first position aveo the trigger that the shooter continues to press.
